Pout & Trout Reviews
I stayed at Pout and Trout last week during my thru hike of the Midstate Trail. It was such a relief to get a hot shower and be able to fully charge all of my electronics with an outlet right by my tent. The staff were super helpful too, and flexible about my arrival time which is really important when you're on foot! Highly recommend to hikers.
May 10, 2024 · patricia caseI would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, this place isn’t even fit for a caveman. I have never felt so belittled in my life. Upon entering the main office I was given a poor first impression. She didn’t greet me, and I had to initiate the conversation. I asked the woman if they take cards to which she replied with an attitude “we’ve never taken cards here.” When I entered the campground I was passing through, going the 5 mph speed limit, and a camper told me to SLOW DOWN. As I continued further down there was a large confederate flag hanging at a campsite. I was very upset and pulled over to the side and put my hazards on and an elderly man (an employee) came to me and stared at me for a while without speaking. We spoke but I had to initiate the conversation once again. As I reached my destination I was very upset and informed my family I wouldn’t be staying because of the discomfort I felt being there. As I was leaving THREE different people told me to slow down, even though i was going the speed limit. I hadn’t even had enough time to press the gas between the amount of times i was told to SLOW DOWN. After I left through the gates I was greeted by the same woman from the office who yelled at me to “SLOW DOWN, there are a lot of kids here and the speed limit is 5 mph....and that includes this area” (referring to the entrance of the campground) I gave her my coin that she gave me to get in and walked away, as soon as I got in my car she pulled out her walkie talkie and said “they’re leaving and not coming back” I felt belittled, harassed, and unwelcome. Last but not least, I would just like to say that I received excellent service from their employee Jeremy who helped me handle the situation and asked if I was upset and apologized for the situation. If they had any sense they would hire more people like him and fire the ones that plummet their reviews!!
Jul 15, 2018 · Brittany DeckerTHE best place for Peace and Tranquility. Always comfortable and loaded with great amazing people. The staff are so friendly and inviting!
Jun 11, 2024 · Steven HoweWe were in for a weekend stay. Site had large trench in the area we opened our awning and wanted our picnic table. Site was littered with wood screws and miscellaneous small hardware and trash. Secluded in the pines we had no radio or tv reception. No cable either. Would not stay there again. Many sites had units that had not been cleaned or maintained in years. They deal in cash only for transients and were not prepared to make change. The staff was friendly and responsive.
Sep 01, 2019 · Paul CoteWe became seasonals last summer and have never been happier!!! Welcomed with open arms we have watched our kids enjoy life nature and friends in a safe community. It feels like when we were kids! My dad got a very bad diagnosis of atage 4 lung cancer which has already spread. His birthday was the 20th and I wanted to throw him a bash so his friends and family could all celebrate him. With him being so sick the sooner the better!! The Camp owner waved all fees making this event possible. Without that generosity I wouldnt have been able to afford his bday party! The camp staff also were at our beck and call through the party asking if we needed anything helping set up and clean up making it so we barley had to lift a finger !! The camp dj volunteered his rime and dj'd the event. It was AMAZING! not only was my dad able to make It....but he atayed for TWO hours. He is since then back in the hospital but he will always have that great day that the camp gave to us! These people around us are amazing and we are lucky to have them!!! I would highly recommend this canpground to any and everyone! Come spend a weekend or week or forever haha join our awesome camp family 💕
