Colors of the Forest RV Resort and Campground Introduce
colors of the forest campground
For Pennsylvanians eager to immerse themselves in the stunning beauty of the Allegheny National Forest region while enjoying a wide array of amenities and lodging options, Colors of the Forest RV Resort and Campground in Clarington offers a unique and versatile destination. More than just a traditional campground, this resort provides a comprehensive experience, catering to various camping styles from full-hookup RV sites to comfortable hotel rooms and cabins. If you're looking for a base to explore the famous Cook Forest and Clear Creek State Parks, float the Clarion River, or simply unwind with on-site dining and entertainment, Colors of the Forest aims to be your go-to spot in the Pennsylvania Wilds.
Colors of the Forest RV Resort and Campground presents a mixed bag of guest experiences, highlighting both the potential for a great stay and areas that may require attention. On the positive side, the campground receives commendation for its accommodating staff, with one reviewer specifically praising "Jackie" as "an actual angel" who went "above and beyond to make sure we had a place to stay" during a last-minute booking due to bad weather. This suggests a commitment to customer service and a willingness to help guests in need. The campground is also recommended for both "primitive or non-primitive trips," indicating a variety of site types to suit different preferences, and sources confirm it is a pet-friendly establishment with a bakery, bar, and various events. Its location near Cook Forest and Clear Creek State Parks, as well as the Clarion River, is a significant draw for outdoor enthusiasts.
However, other reviews raise serious concerns that prospective visitors should be aware of. One particularly strong negative review details issues such as a "bad CO2 leak in the bathroom" (though this specific claim of a CO2 leak is not otherwise corroborated in public information, a general issue with unlit hallways or poor ventilation could still be a concern), overbooking leading to a parking lot site without paid electricity, significant mud, a pine tree falling on a site, early and inconsistent office closures, and uncontrolled noise from "screaming, Indian drum circles and music till 4am." This review culminates in the strong advice to "DO NOT GO HERE!" and calls for the place to be "SHUT DOWN!" This stark contrast in experiences suggests that while the campground strives to offer a comprehensive resort experience with diverse amenities, there may be inconsistencies in management, maintenance, and guest experience that visitors should consider carefully. It is always wise to read recent reviews and perhaps call ahead to confirm specific site details and services during your intended stay.

Colors of the Forest RV Resort and Campground Reviews
DO NOT GO HERE! This is single handedly the worst campground I’ve ever been to. There is such a bad CO2 leak in the bathroom it was making my family and I sick and you have to Walk down an unlit hallway just to get to it. When we told staff they said “oh I don’t smell anything “ and did nothing. They also overbooked and my family and I payed almost $200 to camp in a parking lot where we did not even have electricity THAT WE PAID EXTRA FOR for most of the first day. On top of this where the placed us had 4-5inches of mud to walk through just to get to our tents and during the rain a literal pine tree fell on our site and it was not safe when we tried to go to the office to say we were leaving no one was there because they closed early which they did at random hours every day we were there. All of this was TERRIBLE not to mention the screaming,Indian drum circles and music till 4am that nothing was done about. We ended up leaving early and never got any of your money back. This place should be SHUT DOWN!
Jun 12, 2025 · Bonnette SteffyJackie is an actual angel! She was extremely accommodating for our last minute booking (due to weather). We had a lot of trouble getting in anywhere else but Jackie went above and beyond to make sure we had a place to stay.Highly recommend Colors of the Forest for your next primitive or non-primitive trip!
Apr 16, 2025 · Erika KuralakWe camped at one of their newer sites. Nice site, level, nice picnic table and wooded in between sites. Never saw the rooms, can’t review. The bakery is amazing. The employees are very nice also. It has a lot of potential so I am looking forward to their progress. We will be back
Oct 21, 2024 · Jill CiccoWe just spent a long weekend here, and it was great. Very quiet and peaceful. The location of this campground is perfect! Just a few minute drive to all the spots you want to check out in Cooks Forest! We stayed in the full hook up spot, so I did not rate the rooms. The owners and staff here are so friendly and nice! It really makes your camping stay more enjoyable when everyone is so friendly. We had the donuts from the bakery, and they were delicious!!They had events planned for Saturday, which was fun! Bingo, ice cream, and music. We definitely want to come back. For us, the only a few small things I'd suggest is something for smaller kids to do like a playground for when there's downtime. There are some bigger pot holes and if we had a nicer camper I'd be upset but since we have an old camper it didn't bother us. If they were filled in it would be really nice. Also for people who need internet access it's very hard to get reception. Again for us it was nice to just unplug!!We can't wait to see the progress for next year and see new updates!
Aug 13, 2024 · Danielle LWe did not rate the rooms because we did not stay in them. We camped in a full hookup spot. As so many of the other posts mentioned, Tammy (the manager) does a wonderful job of making sure you are warmly welcomed and have everything you need. The new owners took over a well-used, well-loved campground and are working diligently to give it a makeover. We stayed at this camp years ago so we can see the improvements - perhaps if this is your first time through, you cannot see the upgrades - but they are there. The owners have a vision and are working their way toward the goal. Be sure to try some of their bakery treats! You won't be disappointed! Don't make a decision about this campground until you try it for yourself and experience their warm hospitality.
