Washburn Lake Village MHC Introduce
Are you looking for a peaceful and friendly place to call home in Michigan? Washburn Lake Village MHC in Colon offers an intimate community setting for those interested in manufactured home living. These communities, often known as mobile home parks, provide a unique and often more affordable path to homeownership compared to traditional stick-built homes in Michigan. Residents typically own their homes while leasing the land, offering flexibility and a distinct sense of community.
Washburn Lake Village MHC prides itself on being a "friendly neighborhood" with only 43 sites, fostering a close-knit environment where "your neighbor might mow your lawn 'just cuz'." It's a place where residents take pride in their homes, and management is described as being available to help when needed, contributing to a "clean & safe" environment.
It's important for prospective residents to understand the dynamics of any community they consider. While one review highlighted a very specific concern regarding service animals and visitor policies, and the interpretation of federal ADA laws, another aspect emphasized by the park's own description is a "rigorous background screening program of all residents" and a "grass-roots style community watch" to ensure safety. This indicates a proactive approach to maintaining a secure and orderly environment. When considering a manufactured home community, it's always advisable to engage directly with management to discuss specific policies, particularly those pertaining to service animals, as federal laws like the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and the Fair Housing Act do require reasonable accommodations for service animals for disabled individuals.

Washburn Lake Village MHC Reviews
Just read the last review about the visitor with service dogs , I understand that they can deny her to have any animals in the park, however it's a federal law that says you must allow service pets , which brings me to a conclusion that it was because there were more than just one service dog ? The ADA for the federal government can intervene in cases like this that being said , I don't know if they sold the property and there is a new owner or not as I don't live here , I don't live in the state of Michigan but I am going by what I know is the federal law , I certainly hope they are following the rules
Dec 13, 2021 · Big D.I'm not allowed to visit my sister that lives there because i have service dogs. The manager was aggressive about it and was at my sister's trailer as soon as I showed up, and, I tried to let my dogs go potty. I suffered a panic attack due to her. She demanded that I put my dogs up in my truck immediately and would not leave me alone until I did as she demanded me. I am disabled. I even offered to show her my dogs I.D. cards and she refused to look ay them and did not care. All she cared about was showing her ass and trying to command her authority at a disabled person... and on a Sunday, at that. I drove from Indiana, to drop off furniture for my sister and I was discriminated against for being disabled and having service dogs.
Jun 04, 2018 · Ellen “Topazz” CurtisNice and quiet. Friendly neighbors but can't seem to get things fixed. Been over a year and still haven't had things fixed and can't get the main office in Coldwater to return calls. Still waiting to hear if our water levels are safe
Jul 21, 2018 · Samm KleinThe grounds are nice but alot of empty and very run down trailers are just sitting. We have been waiting fir our stove to be replaced after the pilot light wouldn't start because the line it goes around is so old and rusted. One toilet doesn't work at all and the maim one barely does. We have wrecked carpeting and holes in our kitchen floor that we documented and took pictures off allowing bad bugs in and i suffer from lupus. Plus the bedroom door was wrecked whe3we moved in over a year ago. We filled out all the papers of things already wrong before we moved in promised to be taken care of and nothing. Over a year later
