One of the most significant advantages of Torch Grove Camp Ground's location is its proximity to Torch Lake. As highlighted by local reviews, it's "Super close to Torch Lake." The campground is directly across from a public access point to Torch Lake, which is just a "150 ft. walk to Torch Lake from the edge of the campground." While there are "no public beaches" directly on Torch Lake (a common characteristic of this sought-after lake), this public access is invaluable for enjoying its clear, unsalted waters. For boaters, it's also conveniently "just one short mile to the Torch River and the South Torch Lake Boat Launch to get to the Torch Lake Sandbar," a legendary spot for summer fun. The campground is nestled on 10 acres "in the great woods of Northern Michigan," offering a serene setting while remaining accessible to the vibrant activities of the Torch Lake area. Whether you're planning to kayak, boat, or simply enjoy the stunning views, Torch Grove Camp Ground's location makes it an ideal base for Michiganders.

Torch Grove Camp Ground distinguishes itself with several features and highlights that contribute to a positive camping experience for Michigan visitors:
- Proximity to Torch Lake: As a primary highlight, its location "super close to Torch Lake" and direct access across the street to a public access point is a major draw. Being "one short mile to the Torch River and the South Torch Lake Boat Launch to get to the Torch Lake Sandbar" further enhances its appeal for water enthusiasts.
- Friendly and Accommodating Staff: Customer reviews consistently praise the staff. One review mentions being "apologetic & accommodating" during booking issues and highlights that "Kate greeted us and was super friendly." The overall sentiment is that "everybody was super friendly from the time we arrived, during and while pulling out of the drive," emphasizing "great hospitality."
- Clean and Well-Maintained Facilities: The "clean shower house w hot water" is specifically noted as a positive feature, indicating a commitment to cleanliness and comfort.
- Quiet and Intimate Setting: With 54 campsites, many of which are occupied by seasonal campers, the campground offers an "intimate setting" and fosters a "close-knit community atmosphere." This suggests a peaceful environment for relaxation.
- Wooded Surroundings: Nestled "in the great woods of Northern Michigan," the campground provides a natural and scenic backdrop for camping.
- RV-Exclusive Focus: By being an RV-only campground (with limited transient sites), it caters specifically to the needs of RVers, potentially offering a more consistent experience for this type of camper.
It's important to note the campground's policy regarding limited transient sites, especially during peak season (July 1 to August 15, when general reservations may not be accepted until further notice). This suggests a high demand and a focus on seasonal campers or returning guests, which can contribute to a stable and familiar community environment.
Campgrounds, including Torch Grove Camp Ground, often offer various rates depending on the season and length of stay. While specific promotional "offers" in the traditional sense (like "buy one night, get one free") might vary, their pricing structure already includes considerations for different booking durations and times of the year.
- Seasonal Rates: Torch Grove Camp Ground operates seasonally (typically May - October). They have specific nightly rates for "Low Season" (before Memorial Day weekend and after Labor Day weekend) and "Peak Season" (including July and August).
- Weekly Peak Rate: A discounted weekly rate is available for stays of 7 nights or more during peak season (not applicable during holidays).
- Holiday Rates: Higher rates apply for holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Labor Day) and specific holiday periods (e.g., the week of July 4th, Cherry Festival).
- Long-Term Options: Monthly and Seasonal rates are quoted upon request, with seasonal sites often being full due to high demand.
Due to the limited number of transient sites, especially during peak summer months, and the high demand, general promotions are less common than in larger, more commercially focused parks. They prioritize current seasonal campers and long-time customers during peak periods. For specific availability and any current offers, especially if you're looking for a short-term stay, it's crucial to contact the campground directly. They recommend checking for "gap" reservations no sooner than 10 days from your requested arrival date during busy times.

Torch Grove Camp Ground Reviews
Torch Lake is one of the favorites in North Michigan because of its beautiful, clear water similar to the Caribbean. Torch Lake is UNSALTED! Unfortunately, there are only a few public access points around the whole Lake - and no public beach. You should call ahead for kayak rentals since the slots fill up quickly during July and August. The kayaks are towed in and are not available on site.

Aug 23, 2019 · Krystal ClearyBeautiful campground surrounded by woods, across the street from the stunning aqua colored Torch Lake. From the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by how we were treated by the managers (husband and wife team) of the campground. They not only escorted us right to our site, but they directed and helped us park our motorhome to be sure it was perfectly parked, and then they set it all up for us, connecting the electricity, water and sewer. That was a first! The campground was clean and well cared for. We would definitely recommend it.
