Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach Reviews
Loved this place! It had every amenity you could ever want and is a quick walk/golf cart ride to them! It is farther from the beach but you can make a day to visit if you want. The cottages were very cozy and perfect for our family of four. (I believe with the pull out couch you can fit up to 6!) It has multiple food stalls and a fancier sit down one, cafes, food trucks, etc. The Waterpark section is very nice for adults and kids. It also has multiple inside and outside non or heated pools. Small dog parks and walkways. The staff and place were pretty friendly as well. (They could clean up the small lake pier area a bit more, but I know it is the patrons doing.) Overall, I would definitely come back and visit again!!
Jun 25, 2025 · Serenity TravelsWe made an impromptu trip to Sun Outdoors MB this past week. We were able to find a spot easily, and booking was fairly simple online. While we enjoyed the pools, the campground did not live up to its expectations. The bathhouses were completely filthy and stunk. The pools fill up quickly and we could not find any empty chairs (although many were “saved” with nobody occupying the chair). Be careful of the kids on scooters, bikes, and golf carts. They do not pay attention at all. The food is mediocre. You are not allowed coolers at the pool, which was a big downside, especially with a baby. The park is a little drive to the beach, which we knew going that is was. The people really weren’t super friendly like at other campgrounds we have went to. Would we return? Maybe. But there are better options in the area.
Jun 01, 2025 · Katelyn BurnetteI have to say, after being loyal customers of Sun Outdoors for several years and spending thousands of dollars with your company, our recent experience at the Myrtle Beach location has made us seriously reconsider our future support. While we typically travel with our camper and have never encountered issues with check-in, this trip was different. Due to the longer travel distance, we chose to rent a cabin - and unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience. From the unfriendly and unhelpful service at the front desk to the cabin not being ready at the scheduled check-in time, the experience fell far short of expectations. What made it even more frustrating was losing money on perishable food we purchased, only to be left waiting far beyond check-in time.I arrived at the office at 11:30 AM and proactively asked if the cabin could be ready earlier, even offering to pay the early check-in fee. The staff member I spoke with seemed indifferent and simply said someone would call me - which never happened. After traveling all night with a tired 4-year-old, this lack of consideration and communication was especially upsetting. What made matters worse is that after the official check-in time passed, we sat and watched several other guests check into their cabins while we continued to wait. It was incredibly frustrating to be overlooked and left with no explanation or updates. We genuinely hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve the guest experience at this location. As longtime customers, we would love to continue supporting Sun Outdoors, but only if we can count on reliable service and basic hospitality in the future.
Jun 21, 2025 · Stephanie ZieglerVery nice campground. Clean. Definitely a resort environment. Their main "clubhouse" area has EVERYTHING! A big workout gym, a Yoga studio, a Billiards room, an Arcade, Mini bowling for kids, an Adult pool & hot tub, lots of fire pits with many chairs so groups could hang out, several food options, an incredible water park, a Lazy river, mini putt putt, bouncing pillow trampoline... washers/ dryers, mini donut delivery to your site.... and I'm sure I've forgotten some! Definitely nice. Enjoyed our time here!
Jun 30, 2025 · David Harris IVMy family has camped here for several years, since it opened, because the kids love the water park. Last week during our annual trip, we were disappointed that the patio area around the family pool was dirty every day with bits of trash and pine needles everywhere. I noticed the same dirty areas everyday. On Friday the water in the water park was the color of iced tea. One of the lifeguards on the slide had fallen asleep. Most of them were on their phones. There were no lights on the walking paths after dark. Parts of the water park decor looked frayed and worn, as does the paint on some of the buildings. The arcade has a candy dispensing game that never had more than a handful of cheap candy in it. Many of the grassy areas looked sparse. There was a lot of dirt where the grass was worn down, and weeds. The police were called to a campsite two down from us one night because the teenagers there and at another site were causing trouble. The bathroom floors were always wet and strewn with soggy toilet tissue. I sat in a chair outside one of the comfort stations and the arm had broken off. We were in the lazy river and several boys were making big waves around tubes with parents and young kids. The lifeguard saw it but did nothing. By the end of our week, enough of these little issues had grown into real disappointment with an RV resort we used to love. I don’t understand it. There are more campsites than ever before, and they fill up. The golf cart rentals and cabana rentals have about doubled. Why isn’t the place getting the attention it needs? It’s hard for me to recommend this place to anyone right now. And I used to tell everybody how nice it was.
