Rivers Bend Park Introduce
For many Kansans, the allure of RV living often comes with the need to find suitable parking and a welcoming community, whether for a short stop or a slightly longer stay while working or visiting. Rivers Bend Park, located in Kansas City, KS, is an RV park that some locals may consider. As residents of the Sunflower State, we understand the importance of finding a reliable and clear understanding of what any RV park truly offers. This article aims to provide a factual and detailed overview of Rivers Bend Park, drawing from publicly available information and direct customer feedback to help you make an informed decision about your RV accommodation needs.
The decision to choose an RV park involves weighing various factors, including the type of stay desired, the amenities offered, and the nature of the park's management. While some RV parks cater to extended stays with extensive facilities, others are designed for more transient visitors. It's crucial for prospective residents to align their expectations with the park's operational model. This article will explore Rivers Bend Park's characteristics, providing a balanced perspective that highlights both its reported advantages and potential drawbacks, ensuring Kansas locals have the necessary information.
Rivers Bend Park is situated at 6040 Kansas Ave, Kansas City, KS 66111, USA. This location places it within Kansas City, Kansas, offering a practical spot for those needing access to the urban amenities and employment opportunities of the metropolitan area. Being on Kansas Avenue, a relatively well-trafficked route, suggests straightforward access for RVs, which is often a key consideration for drivers navigating larger vehicles. The park's position within Kansas City means it's generally well-connected to major highways and local roads, facilitating travel to and from various parts of the city and beyond.
The proximity to an urban center implies that essential services, such as grocery stores, fuel stations, repair shops, and medical facilities, are likely within a convenient driving distance. For those working in Kansas City or needing regular access to its resources, this location can be quite advantageous. However, residents should be aware that being in an urban area might also mean proximity to urban sounds, such as trains, which one reviewer specifically mentioned as running "quite a bit." Understanding the local environment, including potential noise sources, is an important part of assessing a park's suitability for individual preferences.
Based on the provided customer reviews and typical RV park operations, Rivers Bend Park offers fundamental services necessary for RV parking. While a detailed list of amenities is not extensively highlighted in positive feedback, the reviews indicate the presence of core functionalities:
- RV Parking Spaces: The primary service is providing designated spots for RVs.
- Utility Hookups: As an RV park, it is expected to offer essential hookups such as electricity, water, and sewer connections at each site. However, one review specifically mentions being "ripped off on utilities," suggesting potential issues or lack of transparency regarding utility billing that prospective residents should clarify directly with management.
- Rent Collection: The park operates on a rental basis, implying a system for monthly payments. Park rules regarding late payments, such as a stated $35 late charge, are noted in resident feedback.
It's important to note that a significant piece of feedback indicates a lack of certain amenities typically found in more full-service RV resorts. The review explicitly states, "no amenities. None." This suggests that the park focuses on providing basic parking and utility access rather than recreational facilities or extensive communal spaces.
Based on customer experiences, here are some key features and highlights of Rivers Bend Park:
- Quiet Neighbors: One positive comment notes that "the neighbors are quite," which can contribute to a peaceful living environment, especially important in an urban setting.
- Owner's Efforts: An owner named Mike is credited with putting "a lot of work into making a decent place to stay," indicating a dedication from at least one of the managing parties to improving the park's condition.
- Suitability for Workers/Visitors: The park is described as a "decent place to stay while your working in town or just visiting," implying its practical use for those needing temporary accommodation for employment or tourism in Kansas City.
- Strict Rules Regarding Outdoor Items: A significant highlight, albeit a restrictive one, is the park's very strict rules on what can be kept outside an RV. According to one long-term resident, "you can't have anything outside of your RV.. nothing is allowed, can't plant anything, can't paint." This is a crucial piece of information for RV owners who enjoy personalizing their space or having outdoor storage.
- Temporary Stay Focus: Despite being an RV park, a key feature highlighted by a former resident is that it is "only temporary to rent, you can't have anything outside of your RV.. no long term stays." This contradicts the experience of the resident who stayed for two years, suggesting either a change in policy or a lack of clarity in communication regarding long-term residency.
- Train Noise: The presence of frequent train activity is noted ("the trains run quite a bit"), which is a characteristic of the location that could be a significant factor for some residents.
- Management Communication and Eviction Concerns: A prominent concern raised is the alleged abrupt eviction of a long-term, punctual resident for being "4 days late paying rent" and having items outside their RV. This suggests a potentially rigid enforcement of rules and a perceived lack of warning or opportunity to rectify issues by management. The feedback describes the owners as "cons" and warns against wasting time with the "joker of a landlord," indicating serious dissatisfaction with management practices and communication.

Prospective residents are strongly encouraged to contact the park directly to confirm current policies, rates, and availability, and to clarify any rules that may impact their stay, especially concerning long-term residency and outdoor item policies. A personal visit to observe the park and speak with existing residents (if possible) is also highly advisable before committing to a stay.
For Kansas locals, Rivers Bend Park in Kansas City, KS, could be a functional option for short-term RV stays, particularly if you're working in the area or need a temporary base. Its urban location offers convenient access to city resources. However, it is crucial for potential residents to be aware of the significant concerns raised by past residents. The park appears to operate with strict rules regarding outdoor belongings and, according to one account, may have a very low tolerance for rent delays, potentially leading to abrupt evictions without prior warning, contrary to stated late fees. Furthermore, the explicit feedback that the park offers "no amenities" suggests it caters to a very basic, no-frills RV parking need. While one reviewer credits an owner, Mike, for efforts to improve the park, another's experience highlights a perceived lack of fairness and transparency from management, particularly concerning long-term stays and utility billing. Therefore, while its location might be convenient, Kansas residents considering Rivers Bend Park, especially for anything beyond a very short, temporary stay, should conduct thorough due diligence, including a direct conversation with management about all rules and policies, particularly those pertaining to length of stay, outdoor items, and late payments, to avoid any unexpected and potentially distressing situations.

Rivers Bend Park Reviews
Well after being here since June of 2022, never being late on rent, always keeping my yard up and looking nice for passer byers, putting in my own rock gardens, decorating for the holidays, I made sure it looked nice from the road. I had things sitting out back. ELawn mower , smoker, yarddecor is sz stepping stones and a small load of lumber for my deck, but waiting to put deck up thinking id wait till the owner was ready to put a new pad underneath me, then I wou put the deck on, well this month being the only month in 2 years mind you, I was 4 days late paying my rent but paying it today. I was handed a notice, stating that due to not paying my rent and the things out back, It stated that I now had 13 days to vacate the premise, no warning, no nothing, and now I have to move, no where to go, don't know just why exactly I have to go. But the owners are not who I met 2 years ago, Mike Lorenzo, and Fred something, are cons, this is an RV Park but only temporary to rent, you can't have anything outside of your RV.. nothing is allowed, can't plant anything, can't paint, no amenities. None. The park rules state that if your late on your rent there's a 35 dollar charge, not that your evicted. But they sure did evict me, for no reason, no warning. So don't even waste your time with this joker of a landlord. Won't even give you a chance to make it right. So I have nothing good to say about this RV Park. They offer nothing, and I'm disappointed in these landlords that pretended to be my friends. Don't inquire here it's a temp RV Park no long term stays. Offer nothing and rip you off on utilities.
Jul 10, 2024 · Pamela DodsonOk folks it's a small rv park and the owner Mike has put a lot of work into making a decent place to stay while your working in town or just visiting. The neighbors are quite and really no complaints about the park. The trains run quite a bit but you get the gesture.
