Red Pine Campground Reviews
Red Pine Campground has great sites: they are clean, dry gravel even in the rain. The location was excellent, right off the highway, on our cross country trip. Our site was a pull thru, all hookup for $47/night. One of the best choices we made.
Jun 07, 2025 · Sheila, S.Y. WangFirst time visitor. Stayed in site 107 - has electrical and water hookup. When checking in, they give you a wifi password. Unfortunately at this site, the wifi wasn't strong enough to use with our TV - we had to use our phone hotspots for internet. The campground is incredibly clean and well maintained. Visitors were quiet. There is some road noise as this campground is fairly close to Hwy 53. It's not overpowering but it's not dead quiet either. Most people will not notice after awhile. They maintain walking trails in the back - they were groomed to about 2 inches and bugs were minimal. It was slightly disconcerting to have the zero-turn mower mowing the already perfectly manicured space at 9:30 in the morning, right next to our camper. We are not used to that. The other issue we had with this site was the trail entrance. This site backs right up to a trail entrance - mind you, there are multiple trail entrances that allows access. Twice, we had older folks walk right into our site, (to the back of our camper) to access the trail entrance. To be fair, the one side of the site has the fire pit and picnic table and the other side of the site has a small yard area. This is the area people walked in but it is still a few feet away from your side windows. Also, if you have a large window in the back of your camper, people will walk within 2-3 feet of it for this trail. That and the mower felt a little invasive for our liking. The campground is beautiful and worth visiting. We will visit again, but we will not stay in that spot again. The grounds are the most pristine I've ever seen. Lots of areas to walk. Our experience has been mainly at state parks, where we choose the most private locations for our 33-foot travel trailer. We camp for peace and quiet. Others may camp for different reasons. FYI - the current map of the campground does NOT show the trail entrance in site 107. There are more entrances than what is shown on the map.
Jun 14, 2025 · Theresa SnyderWe couldn't ask for a better place to kick off our camping season! The spots are large and very well maintained. Great location, easy to find, wonderful amenities. We will be back!
May 05, 2025 · Alexandra FarrenThis campground is wonderful! The sites are clean and open and spaced out. The owners cleared trails in the surrounding land for hiking/walking. There is a pond for fishing and a game room. These owners care!
Jun 05, 2025 · Mary Beth OWe are on a month-long road trip from Arizona to experience some of the Great Lakes. We don’t often make reservations ahead of time so we can keep an open schedule.Red Pine Campground suited us perfectly with full hookups, a clubhouse with laundry, showers/bathroom, & game room. The property is gorgeous, well-kept and convenient to Duluth and the North Shore. The owner was very kind & helpful. There are several small lakes within the property and they have canoes/kayaks and PFDs for guests to borrow. This would be a great place to stay for a week or more if you want to explore the area fully.
