Hawkins RV Park

Waynesboro, GA 30830, USA

4.0
Great place to park your RV if you are working at Vogtle. Far enough away to just be out of the traffic, and a short ride to local shopping. Nice sized, clean lots with space for extra trailer for hauling your toys, kids to play, or even a pool as I have seen a few people do. Owners are great, very friendly and easy to get along with. The only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars, very minor things and some of which is personal preference.1: Not enough shade for me, both of my AC units run constantly set at 72.2: Bring plenty of bug spray, gnats and ants are pretty bad.3: No place for kids to play other than what you provide on your own lot.4: No bath houses, which isn't important to me, but to some it is. - Jasson Riddle

Hawkins RV Park is conveniently located in Waynesboro, GA 30830, USA. This address places it strategically within Burke County, a region of Georgia known for its agricultural roots and, notably, its proximity to major industrial facilities. For many RVers, especially those working on temporary contracts or long-term assignments, location is paramount, and Hawkins RV Park's setting provides distinct advantages.

One of the most significant aspects of its location is its reported proximity to Plant Vogtle. Customer reviews frequently mention the park as a "great place to park your RV if you are working at Vogtle." This suggests a prime location for individuals employed at the nuclear power plant, allowing for a manageable commute that avoids heavy traffic. The feedback highlights that it's "Far enough away to just be out of the traffic, and a short ride to local shopping." This balance of being close to a major employer yet maintaining a distance from the direct industrial hustle is a key accessibility benefit.

Waynesboro itself offers a small-town atmosphere with essential amenities. While not a large metropolitan area, it provides access to local shopping, dining, and other necessities. The comment "a short ride to local shopping" reinforces the convenience for daily needs. For RVers, having easy access to groceries, fuel, and other supplies is crucial for a comfortable extended stay.

The rural setting implied by its Waynesboro address also suggests a quieter environment, which can be a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful retreat after a day's work. Unlike RV parks situated directly within urban centers, Hawkins RV Park likely offers a more tranquil experience, allowing residents to enjoy the calm of the Georgia countryside while still being connected to necessary services. The ease of ingress and egress for large RVs is often a consideration, and a less congested location generally contributes to better accessibility for larger rigs. While specific road access details are not provided, its Waynesboro location suggests a network of state and local roads that facilitate travel to and from the park.

Hawkins RV Park offers a range of essential services designed to ensure a comfortable stay for RVers. Based on customer feedback and typical RV park provisions, the following services are generally available:

  • Full Hookup RV Sites: Residents can expect sites equipped with 20/30/50 amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. This is a fundamental offering for any RV park, allowing residents to operate their RVs with all the conveniences of home.
  • Spacious Lots: Reviews indicate "Nice sized, clean lots with space for extra trailer for hauling your toys, kids to play, or even a pool as I have seen a few people do." This suggests ample space, which is a significant plus for comfort and versatility.
  • Clean Lots: The mention of "clean lots" points to a maintained environment, contributing to a pleasant living experience.
  • Propane Availability: A review mentions "a convenience store across the street that sells propane," which, while not a direct park service, is a significant convenience for RVers relying on propane for heating, cooking, and refrigeration.
  • On-site Management/Owners: Customer reviews highlight that "Owners are great, very friendly and easy to get along with." This indicates a responsive and approachable management team, which is invaluable for addressing any resident needs or concerns promptly.

It's important to note what is NOT explicitly mentioned or is noted as absent from the park's services, based on the reviews. Specifically, there is no mention of park-provided WiFi, no park cable, and no bathhouses. While this might be a "downfall" for some, as one review notes, "The pros out way the cons by a mile" for many, especially given the price point and country setting. For RVers with self-contained units, the absence of bathhouses might not be a significant issue, but it's a crucial point for those who rely on external facilities.

  • Affordable Pricing: While no specific prices are provided, a review highlights, "But you can't beat the price," suggesting that the rates offer excellent value, especially given the full hookups and convenient location. This makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious RVers.
  • Country Setting: The "country setting" provides a serene backdrop for daily living, allowing residents to enjoy the tranquility of rural Georgia.
  • Convenience Store with Propane Nearby: The presence of "a convenience store across the street that sells propane" is a practical highlight. Easy access to propane, a crucial RV utility, adds significant convenience for residents.
