Kinston is connected by major state roads, providing routes to larger cities like Greenville (approximately 30-40 minutes away, home to East Carolina University and Vidant Medical Center) and Raleigh (about an hour and a half to two hours away). For locals in the North Carolina region considering Green Acres Mobile Home Park in Kinston, it is paramount to approach this option with caution and a thorough understanding of the reported living conditions. While mobile home parks can offer an affordable housing solution, the feedback from current and former residents of Green Acres highlights significant concerns that directly impact the quality of life and safety within the community.
The recurring issues of constant water outages, severely neglected roads with potholes and unmanaged speed bumps, and uncleared ditches are critical infrastructure problems that can lead to ongoing inconvenience and potentially damage vehicles. For North Carolinians relying on their vehicles for work or daily errands, the detrimental effect on vehicle upkeep is a serious consideration. Furthermore, the reports of the park being used as a "trash dumping site" and management's alleged negligence in cleanup contribute to an unsanitary and unappealing living environment, which directly contradicts the expectation of a well-maintained home.
Even more concerning are the reported safety hazards, such as falling through stairs and unaddressed issues like a non-functional heating system, particularly when "young children" are involved. These are fundamental living necessities and safety requirements that any resident should be able to expect from their housing. The pervasive lack of communication and apparent inaction from the managing company or owner to rectify these problems, as voiced by residents advising against moving there, points to a potentially challenging resident experience.
While the Kinston location offers access to local amenities and regional connectivity, the severe internal issues described by residents suggest that the benefits of the location may be overshadowed by the substandard living conditions. For North Carolina locals seeking a home, the decision should be made only after personally verifying the current state of the park and critically assessing whether these reported issues align with your expectations for safety, comfort, and general well-being. It is strongly recommended to consider all available options and prioritize a living environment that ensures basic standards of maintenance and habitability.

Jul 31, 2024 · Aldorian SaulsThey are extremely negligent . the park is trashy. People use it as a trash dumping site and management doesn't get it cleaned up. Had to do major cleaning the whole place before moving in. . Fell through the front stairs one time .the back stairs was mind boggling how unsafe it was.. Boards you step on are not even attached. The heat went out 5 years ago they sent someone twice but it didn't get fixed. ever! And all this with young children living there.
