Bonelli Bluffs RV Resort & Campground Reviews
I'm somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars. The good - Campground and campsite were immaculate. Settling in was very fast and easy. Preferred C (hillside, overlooking the lake) was great. My neighbors were very friendly. The staff was friendly. The not-so-good - Check-in at Bonelli Bluffs was a treat. First, you stop at a gate to confirm all your details. Then you’re told to park at the green curb near the main office, which, of course, was full. With no legal space nearby, I parked across the way in the lot. An employee came over, repeated everything I’d just heard, then finally admitted I was fine where I was due to the circumstances. Nice to know common sense eventually gets approved.Pay close attention to all the e-bikes and scooters throughout the campground. Younger campers sometimes dart out onto the road without looking. They should enforce some e-bike/scooter rules or drop the speed limit down to 2.5 mph for vehicles. Regardless, traveling inside the campground warrants attention.Little parking options around the campground, outside of your campsite, laundry, and market lots. In certain areas, you are allowed to park with your right 2 wheels on the grass (near the fishing cove/tent sites).Puddingstone Park was closed during our visit. The pools in the campground were packed.Overall, it was a decent first trip. Extra points for the views on the backside of C. If you're ok with a high-capacity, yet clean city campground, this is a good place for you. If you're looking for a more intimate camping experience, look elsewhere.
Jun 23, 2025 · Rob AshUPDATED: Just spent the weekend back out at Bonelli Bluffs to give it another try and we really enjoyed our experience. As always the staff was very helpful and polite and the grounds were clean. Our spot was very spacious and had a nice shade tree, picnic table, firepit and amazing views. Cant wait to go back soon, 5 star all the way._______________________________________________________________Overall the experience was ok, but could have been much better. It was Father's Day weekend but the amount of people in the lower section "F" near the fishing pond was insane. It seemed like they were busing people in. We had adults/kids riding e-bikes and walking through out campsite the whole time and a lot of the kids were very disrespectful. There were golf cars constantly going back and forth with super loud music. My buddy in the campsite next to us had his truck dented pretty bad by one of the kids racing around doing wheelies on a e-dirt bike I assume...it was complete chaos out there. The other kind of bad part was the electricity going out on all 3 days we were there. The part sucked, but we dealt with it because shit happens. Now for the good, the staff was very friendly and they did make attempts to keep things under control. Check in was pleasant and we did do a late checkout which made get away day a bit more relaxing. Overall the grounds were clean and well lit, and we did have a good time overall as most of the people behind us were super nice and respectful of neighbors. That being said, we were a little disappointed but we have already made another reservation to stay there in a couple weeks in another section that does not seem as dense. We are hoping for better results so we can update our review.
Jun 30, 2025 · Gregory GipsonI scheduled in advance and paid in advance,The first day, staff called and told me the water would be off all the next day!! What for?! Oh just working on things… didn’t offer a refund or to move us to where we could access water, so we had to leave for the day, when we came back my son wanted to swim, no one was in the pool just us, but the “little man staff sergeant” came and kicked us out and the sun was still blazing! He stated that he had to close the pool up for the night. Then the rules state no blow up water slides, I saw 3 guests with them up… another crazy rule is the park and gate is shut down at 10 pm nightly, no in or out, except sometimes had bikes stolen at 3am in the morning 🤔 (suspicious)The showers are disgustingly gross, reminding me of Friday the 13th… bathrooms need a haul overThe only reason I gave a star at all is because it was the only place I could find with hook ups in California close to LA … I’ll look harder next time!Rude staff.Rules only apply to the staffs discretion.Bathroom are nasty. No water for a whole day.Pool closed.Laundry room was unavailable the whole time!We got to park and use electricity for 72.00 per night! They charged extra for my 11 year old son and for my dogs.
Jun 26, 2025 · Shelley GossettWe’ve been visiting Bonelli Bluffs for years—at least three times annually—and have always appreciated its great location and scenic setting. It’s been a reliable local getaway for our family.Unfortunately, since the change in ownership, the quality of service has clearly declined. The park’s overall upkeep isn’t what it used to be, and recent experiences have been disappointing.During our Father’s Day weekend stay, the entire RV park experienced multiple power outages. What made it worse was the complete lack of communication—no staff updates, no check-ins, and no transparency on when power would be restored. Guests were left completely in the dark.Additionally, the main park area and access to the lake have been closed for weeks due to ongoing power issues and unavailable facilities. It’s frustrating to book a stay expecting access to these amenities only to find them inaccessible without any proactive notice. We truly hope the management turns things around. Bonelli Bluffs has so much potential, but it needs serious attention and better communication with guests.
Jun 17, 2025 · Michael CliffordWe enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The location is wonderful. Beautiful views of the mountains and reservoir. The lots were roomy. My favorite feature was all of the hiking trails. They had some well paved paths for my elderly father. I also went on a solo hike that was more strenuous. The air traffic was pretty constant from the nearby airport. Neat at first but it got old when I needed to make a phone call.My only criticism is that the restroom could have used more attention. One stall was out of toilet paper most of the time we were there. It was also pretty messy. Showers were free and the water was very hot.
