Unimproved Clear Lake North Group Campground is conveniently located at 1200 NF-740, Naches, WA 98937, USA. This address places it squarely within the beautiful and recreation-rich Naches area of Washington State. For locals residing in various parts of Washington, Naches is a well-known gateway to outdoor activities, making this campground an accessible option for a weekend trip or a longer stay.
The accessibility of the campground is a key factor for its popularity, especially among those looking for a relatively straightforward drive to a natural setting. While it's considered "unimproved," indicating a more rustic experience, its location near Naches suggests good road access, at least to the vicinity. However, visitors should be prepared for the fact that this is a popular spot, and its first-come, first-served policy means that securing a site, particularly on busy weekends or holidays, requires early arrival. This is especially true for boaters and RVers, who tend to occupy many sites by Friday. The campground's proximity allows Washington residents to easily access fishing, boating, and picnicking opportunities without venturing too far into extremely remote areas. However, as it’s in a natural setting, visitors should always be aware of local conditions, such as river levels and fire risks, which can impact their experience. The journey to the campground itself offers a scenic introduction to the natural beauty that awaits in this part of Washington.
First-Come, First-Served Sites: The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning campers must arrive early, especially during peak times, to secure a spot. There is no advance reservation system.
Camping Fee: A flat camping fee of $20 applies per site. This fee is payable in cash only, so visitors should ensure they bring the exact amount.
Extra Vehicle Fee: For campers bringing an additional vehicle beyond the standard allowance, a $10 per day fee is charged. This is also payable in cash.
On-Site Bathrooms: The campground provides access to communal bathrooms for campers' convenience, which are essential facilities in an unimproved setting.
Trash Disposal: A dumpster is available on-site for trash disposal, which helps campers manage their waste responsibly and maintain the cleanliness of the area.
Day Use Camping Areas: In addition to overnight camping, there are designated day-use areas available for a $10 fee. These spots are suitable for picnics and enjoying the natural surroundings without committing to an overnight stay.
Boater and RV Accommodation: While general camping is available, the campground is particularly popular with boaters and RVers, indicating that sites can accommodate these types of vehicles, though they tend to fill up quickly.

Essential Amenities Provided: Despite being "unimproved," the presence of on-site bathrooms and a dumpster for trash is a significant convenience, making the camping experience more manageable than truly primitive sites.
Affordable Day Use Option: The availability of $10 day-use camping areas provides an excellent and affordable option for locals looking for a nice picnic spot or a place to enjoy the lake for a few hours without needing to camp overnight.
Vibrant Community Atmosphere (at times): Due to its popularity and congestion, particularly on weekends, the campground can offer a lively, social atmosphere. For those who enjoy a bustling environment with other campers, this could be a highlight.
Natural Beauty of the Area: The broader Naches area and Clear Lake itself offer significant natural beauty. Despite the campground's crowded nature, visitors can still appreciate the surrounding wilderness, including the lake and nearby woods (though river levels and fire safety should always be noted).
Teaches Resilience in Camping: For experienced campers from Washington, this campground can be seen as a quintessential "WA campground" experience – often crowded and sometimes noisy – but it's part of the local camping culture, teaching adaptability and patience.

Unimproved Clear Lake North Group Campground Reviews
What a wonderful slice of beauty this entire area was. For the love of decency. Learn how to go to the bathroom outside. The amount of garbage all over the place. Mainly toilet paper was sad.
Sep 08, 2020 · Jeremy HoeppnerThe campground is first come first serve. It’s a $20 camping fee with $10 for an extra vehicle (10/day for extra vehicle). Cash only. There are bathrooms and a dumpster for trash. Mostly boaters and rv’ers take up a lot of the sites by Friday. They do have $10 day use camping areas for a nice picnic. In general there were families enjoying their time there. But this is a very congested area now. It was packed to the brim by Friday night. All night we heard loud music, dogs barking, car alarms going off and people yelling. It was like being in the ghetto with no amenities lol. I’m sure none of the families with children enjoyed this. But we all suffered through it. We left early because this to me is just not camping. The river was dangerously low when we went. And there was quite a bit of algae growing. The woods were dry so be careful with your fire and follow the local laws.If you are from another state and are used to more remote camping this will be a hard transition. Otherwise welcome to WA campgrounds. Crowded and noisy.
Aug 20, 2023 · MThis place is great! Cheap place to camp right by the river and a very short drive to the lake if you want to boat or do whatever. It looked like about 12 campsites all had to share one female and one male bathroom so if its busy, just plan for that if you can. I cant speak for the entire campground but the site we chose that's about how many surrounding sites were close to the restroom. All of the sites had some shade, some obviously had more than others. Theres trails all over the place. We went on a Wednesday and there were plenty of hikers moving about the area by the main road. Overall, it was really a good place to camp.
Aug 21, 2019 · Alyssa ConroyOur family very much enjoyed our campsite! The bathrooms were clean and sites well maintianed. The only downside were the other campers loud music and partying till 3 am.
Aug 25, 2019 · Deanna BissellOnly issue was lots of mosquitoes. Nice big open group camp site with a lot of flat spaces neat the river and private out house.
