Sugar Loafin' Campground Reviews
Great location. Exceptional staff. Clean bathrooms and showers. The nightly ice cream social is fun. The only negative was the roads. Loose dirt got everywhere inside my camper and there are lots of potholes to navigate around.
Jul 04, 2025 · Diana JamesAfter reading some reviews I was leary, but overall, we were very happy. The views from the campground were amazing. They have several rules but they are necessary to ensure everyone’s enjoyment. The bathroom/showers were very clean and except for not draining as good as it could have it was an excellent shower. The staff people were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed watching the little chipmunks every day…they were very entertaining😊 The only negatives I will say is that it was quite dusty and a little gravel would help. Also, they could space out the sites a bit more. It was extremely close. If we had chosen to have a fire and our neighbor did as well our fire rings would have literally been about 4 feet apart. It is sad that so many of these places try to squeeze in as many campers as possible. It just takes away from the camping experience in my opinion. We were there for four nights and we did enjoy our stay.
Jun 21, 2025 · Carlee KingGreat place to camp, it’s quiet, nestled in pine trees, the bathrooms and showers are always very clean and the customer service is great, they’re happy to walk you to your campsite, which is a nice touch. Sites are well maintained and even have nice, level sand platforms for your tent area, no more bent tent stakes! Good access to all Leadville has to offer as well as hiking, biking, and fly fishing.
Jun 24, 2025 · Matthew PayanExcellent Location very close to drive, bike or even hike to Turquoise Lake. Clean showers and restrooms. Owners made it easy to reserve, for one night ( 2 different times) flexible when given advance notice for one change. Staff was friendly and flexible, easy check-in. Loved that CHECKIN was at Noon. Other CGs strict 1,2 or even 3pm.
Jun 16, 2025 · Kelly MainAwesome campground for all your camping adventures. Close to town for quick drive if needed and plenty of local activities. Relax and take some time for yourself. Kids and dog friendly campground. A nice drive from Denver, but worth the stay. Don't forget to ask for the flavor of the day ice-cream. Be safe everyone...
