Imagine waking up to the "most gorgeous view every day, especially the sunrise," with the calming sounds of the ocean just steps away. Picture yourself spotting "many great blue herons as well as other birds," finding joy in the "quirky" atmosphere, and feeling completely at home among "friendly" faces. Searsport Shores Ocean Campground is more than just a place to stay; it's a vibrant hub where families, artists, and outdoor enthusiasts converge. As one happy camper put it, their "boyfriend said it was his favorite camping trip ever," and for a 6-year-old who loves "all things art, music, and the ocean," this campground felt "made for her!" It's a testament to the unique blend of natural beauty and enriching activities that makes this Midcoast Maine gem so special.
Searsport Shores Ocean Campground is wonderfully situated at 216 W Main St, Searsport, ME 04974, USA, placing it directly on the shores of Penobscot Bay in the charming Midcoast Maine region. This prime oceanfront location offers stunning "uninterrupted views of the ocean, private ocean deck at the campsite," and easy access to a "1/4 mile of private beach front." The beach itself is a typically complex Maine coastline, with "tidal pools, cobblestones, sandbars and climbing rocks," perfect for exploration.
Its position on US Route 1 makes it highly accessible for both local Mainers and visitors traveling through the state. Being in Searsport, often referred to as "the Antique Capital of Maine," means you're close to a quaint town with unique shops and maritime history. Furthermore, Searsport Shores serves as an excellent base for exploring the wider Midcoast region and beyond. It’s a "short ride to Belfast, Searsport & Sears Island, Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor, Camden & Rockport and lighthouses of every description." You get to enjoy the "coast of Maine without the crowds," making it a strategically ideal spot for your coastal adventures.

Searsport Shores Ocean Campground Reviews
I had a wonderful time here! I was on an ocean view tenting site. I had the most gorgeous view every day, especially the sunrise. I saw many great blue herons as well as other birds! Everyone there is very friendly, the camp sites are beautiful, bathrooms and showers are clean and they have different fun things going on each day. Searsport island is so much fun to go to and really close if you want to go clamming or even just walk the beach or trails. I had the most fun here I have had in a very long time while getting away from regular busy life. My boyfriend said it was his favorite camping trip ever we will definitely be back! Also they have the cutest goats.
Sep 08, 2024 · JayleeWe loved this campground so much! Our daughter (6 years old) loves all things art, music, and the ocean and this campground was made for her! From the daily art activities, to weekly music, and daily trips to the ocean, we were all HAPPY CAMPERS!The campground is so quirky, everyone is so friendly, and we can't wait to book again next year!My only feedback is that there is someone who escorts you to your campsite and then they assist you with getting your camper/trailer into the site. The escort to the campsite was a wonderful welcome into the campground!I would like to see this person ask if we need assistance getting backed up into our site vs. automatically helping because it definitely threw off my husband and I off in our "flow" with getting our rig backed into a spot. However, at the end of the day, now that I know this, I will definitely advocate with this person during our future visits that we are OK getting into our site ourselves. If you are exploring midcoast Maine, this campground should definitely be on your list!
Jul 29, 2024 · Natalie FlynnMy family and I went to Maine for our family vacation and stayed here. I would absolutely recommend coming to this campground!! The employees are very nice and friendly!! My 3 brothers and my niece had a great time and enjoyed the activities and the walk to the ocean to view it!! The bathrooms are very clean I like that they are cleaned twice a day and I love the fact that they have a handicap bathe room as my younger brother has cerebal palsy. I will definitely be camping here again!!!
Aug 09, 2024 · B WSearsport Shores Ocean Campground! Just typing the name brings a smile and very happy memories. This campground has now “ruined” me as I don’t expect any other campground will ever be able to beat the experiences we had here. Astrig, Steve, and ALL of the camp employees/volunteers are kind, experts, and professionals. The employees and volunteers we spoke to love Astrig and Steve and enjoyed working together here. The campground is clean, environmentally conscious, well-maintained, quiet, and beyond beautiful. Come here and bliss out!!
Oct 14, 2024 · TVery nice place very clean well organized, staff was very friendly. My only complaint is if you have a dog they want you to take him with you everywhere you go which I think is a little silly, now I understand if your dog's crazy and barks when you leave for hours then that's just rude of you as a camper to leave it barking well you're gone for half a day but if your dog's quiet I see no reason why it can't be left in the trailer with A/C running. They should come up with some kind of system where if you get complaints then you have to take your dog but other than that I recommend the place, that's the only reason why it doesn't get five stars from me.
