Onion River Campground Reviews
This place is great. It's got a great view, an orchard, and a sweet river access area. Great music, if you play an instrument, bring it with you... At Onion River CG, music is in the air.
May 14, 2025 · RG LafleurThanks Jacqueline for the excellent service. This is a simple life, small friendly camping with peace and love vibes. River access is not easy even from the beach. This looks like a work in progress project. Had to go early because of health issues and was reimbursed the night, this is rare and sets them apart for overall great service. Upon arrival, you'll see that it's a self-service entrance, it's easy, it's a one road camping, and all sites are easily accessible even if some don't have very leveled grounds.
Aug 21, 2024 · Diane GuilbeaultThe water smells like rotten eggs. The tent area grass is very overgrown, not mowed. No fire pits or benches for the tents. You just set up wherever on the hill. Down below is for the RVs. The bathhouse is dilapidated. Only one of the two bathrooms is in operation, so it's unisex. Two showers and two toilets. no paper towels or amenities. The sink handle needs to be held with one hand while trying to wash up with the other hand as it will stop running when you release the handle. It's very annoying.
Aug 22, 2024 · Abby WegemanSo bummed that this campground wasn’t what we expected based on their website. First of all, it would’ve been nice to know the narrow bridge 22k pound limit before we had no choice but to go across it. Next, we were very put off by the dilapidated buildings and road in the campground… passing by old, unmaintained campers where I assume long term residents live looked slummish for lack of a better word. The store was dark and very old looking mid afternoon and a bit eery… no one was manning it. When we got to our site in the pouring rain, my husband did our hookups. Unfortunately, we were given a site with 30amp instead of the 50 amp site reserved (I double checked my reservation). Again, no staff availability in the office so we were very frustrated. In a field that was nearly empty, we were placed next to a dilapidated camper with plywood walls and marijuana being grown on the roof in orange Home Depot buckets. The wifi was a joke - terrible. At that point, we just made a decision to leave the next morning instead of the planned 2 night stay. I had been very excited about this campground based on their representation online on their website. Oh well, live and learn. If you make claims on your website, you should deliver what you promise. :-(
Aug 07, 2024 · Cheryl CoopermanI arrived late in the day, the office called to make sure I knew what I needed. I missed their call, and they welcomed me anyway. My campsite was near the edge of the woods and river, it was quiet and fairly private. The walking trails were perfect for my small dog. The bathrooms and grounds are clean and well kept. My campsite was level. Everyone was extremely nice, I didn't have any issues and would visit again.
