New River Gorge Campground Reviews
Very run down. Bathrooms not nice at all. No office. Nothing like pictures on website. There is no shop as shown in pictures. Building is boarded up. Only positive, it is in a great location.
Jun 02, 2025 · jule masterThis campground is awful. Sites were very confusing and not very large and very uneven, nothing to do, nobody to talk to when you go there. That is the worst experience ever and DO NOT recommend. I ended up stay at Bear mountain cabins and campground. They thankfully had full hookup and and Large and beautiful sites.
Jun 24, 2024 · Addison VlietstraLoved the Antique Shop next to this campground! The campground not crowded and the area is very nice. Not far at all from the main road. Great if you are traveling through or not wanting a big crowd. Still close to Fayetteville and surrounding sites/adventures; but a nice quiet spot that's easy to pull an RV into. It's a win. (Beautiful quilts at the Antique store.)
Dec 17, 2022 · L. M.They have a lot of work to do to make it worth what they charge...Sites are not level, mostly dirt and grass. Water lines are bare pex lines, even in the dirty shower... on-site sewer treatment plant, do drink the water.. we could have stayed at the KOA or another resort for less. Only positive is the location is close to the new river gorge national park. But they're not the only ones...I don't think we'll be returning any time soon...
Jul 03, 2023 · Rommel VonLuce KingNot a good place to tent camp. Our site was under a shelter right next to the 4 lane highway. Very noisy all day and night. Could still hear the traffic with ear plugs in. Long term campers there. Appears people live there permanenty. Large utility truck left at 430am and woke us up every day. Shower house was gross and smelled of mildew. Hair all over the sinks. Everything in the shower house needs a good thorough cleaning. We showered elsewhere as it was too gross to use. Location is good, but would not stay there again.
