★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you're looking for an authentic wilderness experience while "glamping" this is your place! We were comfortably, fully hooked up to a 50 amp site in our 40 ft. 5th wheel. There is a log cabin on the property; it is NOT the office, it's a private residence. All your interaction with the owner is done on the phone, until you get there. Robert (the owner) will come by after you arrive and make sure you're comfortable and everything is working correctly. Good, genuine folks running this place and I highly recommend IF you have a fully contained camper. No public restrooms or showers. No playground and no river or pond on the property (in case you were thinking about going fishing). Dog friendly. No frills, but you can definitely see every star in the sky from this place.
July 01 · Betsy KammerLouann is beautiful. She said just come on in so I did. I think his name is Robert, I'm only here for one night and totally accommodating. Always nice to have a spotter when traveling alone. So quiet and peaceful. And you can't beat the price.
April 20 · Allison CookReservations: Joe responded promptly to our call to make reservations. He was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and professional.Access from major highway: Campground is located just off US 287 about 8 miles off Interstate 26. All roads are good. No clearance issues.Site condition: The site was level. It needs a fresh coat of gravel, but unless there has been recent rain then the earth is quite stable.Utilities: Electric, water, and sewer were all good. If you have a big rig then you'll want 50 amp service in the summer as there are no trees for most transient sites. I was lucky enough to be writing this review from a site with trees on both sides.Local attractions: The campground, as it name implies, affords great views of the continental divide to the west. The campground sits on a hill and thus provides distant views of the ranches that surround this campground/ranch. It is walking distance from Ray Lake where the locals go to swim and ski on hot summer afternoons. If you grew up in Daytona Beach then you will not be favorably impressed. The closest town is Lander, about 9.4 miles south on US 287. There is a casino about 4 miles down US 287 that I'm told has good food. The locals: The campground residents were very friendly as you expect from folks from Wyoming.Amenities: No bathrooms or showers. You must be self reliant. This is not a resort. You are here for the scenery and the astonishingly low prices.Internet access: No wifi. There is excellent AT&T signal and quite usable Verizon signal. Throughput on Verizon has been great. Both carriers have provided rock solid reliability at this remote location. The owners are two of the finest human beings that I've ever had the pleasure to know. If you spend a while on the porch with them you will come away a better person.
July 05 · Phoebert HoenzoellerFHU , very friendly owner. I'd stay here again. Lots to see in the area.
July 09 · eugene landNot sure who's running this campground but I just called to inquire about rates and reservations and was told by the sweet older lady who answered that she didn't know anything, she was just a passerby in the operation. I asked if there was someone who could help, she said there was no one around to tell her. I asked if there was a better time for me to call and she said maybe call back middle of the month (about 2 weeks away).I hope this is not the owner everyone speaks so highly of in the reviews. That would be sad. I was looking forward to possibly staying here.
