Hey there, fellow Colorado adventurers and outdoor lovers! Are you searching for that ideal camping spot that perfectly balances the tranquility of nature with incredible convenience to urban amenities and iconic attractions? Look no further than the Group Camping Loop, nestled within the fantastic Bear Creek Lake Park right here in Lakewood, Colorado. This isn't just any campground; it's a meticulously cared-for oasis that offers spacious sites, sparkling clean facilities, and an unbeatable location for both peaceful relaxation and thrilling local excursions. Let's explore why the Group Camping Loop is quickly becoming a favorite for Coloradans in the know!
The Group Camping Loop is a specific section of the larger campground within Bear Creek Lake Park, a sprawling 2,624-acre urban park managed by the City of Lakewood. While there are individual campsites, cabins, and yurts, the Group Camping Loop is specifically designed to accommodate larger gatherings, such as scout troops, family reunions, or organized group events, typically holding up to 25 people with five electrical hookups. However, even if you're not part of a large group, the individual sites within the broader campground (which share the same high standards of cleanliness and maintenance) offer a fantastic experience. What truly sets this campground apart is its remarkable upkeep; as noted by delighted campers, the park keepers consistently maintain the grounds to perfection, cleaning restrooms daily and raking gravel paths and sites. This dedication to cleanliness, combined with large, well-designed sites for RVs and tents, creates a peaceful and welcoming environment. Open from April 1 to October 31, it provides a seasonal haven for those looking to enjoy Colorado's mild springs, warm summers, and beautiful autumns.
The Group Camping Loop is situated within Bear Creek Lake Park, with its primary access point located in Lakewood, CO 80227, USA. Its exact coordinates within the park will vary by specific site, but the park itself is easily accessible. A key entrance for after-hours access or general entry is at 14218 W. Hampden Ave., Morrison, CO 80465, which is just a stone's throw from the listed Lakewood address. This prime location is one of the campground's most significant advantages for Colorado locals. It offers a surprisingly quiet and peaceful setting despite being remarkably close to the major thoroughfares of I-70 and the Denver metro area. For those attending concerts at the world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the proximity is a game-changer – it's often described as the "perfect" place to stay, being both close and convenient to the venue. Beyond Red Rocks, campers have easy access to a wealth of nearby amenities including convenience stores, gas stations, a wide array of restaurants, and extensive shopping opportunities. This blend of natural serenity and urban accessibility ensures that you can enjoy the best of both worlds without lengthy drives or complicated navigation.

Group Camping Loop Reviews
This was the best kept campground I’ve ever stayed at. The keepers come every morning and clean the restrooms, rake all the gravel paths, clean sites and rake the sites to perfection. Large RV sites. Nice bike paths, walking trails, campsites with wildlife. We stayed here while attending a concert at Red Rocks and it was perfect…close, convenient to everything (convenience store, gas, restaurants, shopping, I70) yet quiet and peaceful. We’ll be back for sure.
Oct 18, 2022 · Traci RatzlaffA yearly experience for my troop. The weather changes year over year, but it is a fun, low stress travel camping trip to bask by the light of the full home depot sign moon lol. Nice archery range too, though you must provide your own range master. Friendly rangers as well.

Oct 31, 2022 · Keith DeesGreat place to take you boat or go fishing at. Haven't camped here yet. Seem a little to flat and not that many trees.
