Fort Pierce, a vibrant city on Florida's beautiful Treasure Coast, offers just such a destination in the Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey. This campground stands out not just as a place to stay, but as a practical and pleasant hub from which to experience the unique charm of the area, making it an excellent choice for local travelers looking to discover more of their home state.
Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey is celebrated for its strategic location and the dedication of its staff, providing a comfortable and accommodating experience for RVers. While it operates as a "KOA Journey" campground, designed primarily for travelers stopping overnight or for short stays, it nonetheless offers a range of amenities that enhance any visit. Guests frequently commend its cleanliness, the quality of its sites, and the friendliness of its team, notably mentioning staff members like Gina for being "excellent and accommodating." Although some visitors note the presence of external noise from nearby train tracks and a car wash, the overall consensus points to a well-maintained park that prioritizes guest comfort and provides easy access to Fort Pierce's many attractions.
Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey is situated at 1821 N US Hwy 1, Fort Pierce, FL 34946, USA. This address places it directly on a major north-south artery in Florida, making it exceptionally accessible for RVs traveling along the coast. The park's strategic location ensures that guests are "conveniently located with the beach, groceries, fuel, and restaurants nearby."
The accessibility of this KOA is one of its strongest selling points. It's "very close to beaches," often cited as being less than two miles from the ocean and just minutes from Hutchinson Island Beach. For daily necessities, a Publix grocery store is within walking distance, and a Wendy's is also nearby. Downtown Fort Pierce, with its historic charm, vibrant arts scene, farmers' market, and waterfront dining options, is less than a mile away, making it easily reachable by car or even a short bike ride. While some reviews mention the proximity to a "very noisy train track with horns blowing frequently 24/7" and a "noisy car wash center next door," the convenience of being centrally located near such amenities and attractions often outweighs these minor inconveniences for many travelers. Easy access from major highways like the Florida Turnpike and I-95 further solidifies its position as a prime stopping point on any Florida RV itinerary.

Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey Reviews
This is a beautiful campground in a convenient location. The staff (Gina) is excellent and accommodating. The picnic tables and patios are a real treat. Rarely do I find them this nice. They offer trash pick up. Their laundry is coin operated so come prepared. It is conveniently located with the beach, groceries, fuel, and restaurants near by. This location would have easily received 5-stars except it is not gated and is very close to a very noisy train track with horns blowing frequently 24/7. Also, there is a noisy car wash center next door and is loud during the daytime.
Jan 25, 2025 · Lisa HollandKOA managers and staff were very nice, helpful, and friendly. Our site was perfect for us. Very close to beaches. I like sites where are garbage is picked up daily. We camped at Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey in a Fifth Wheel.
May 11, 2025 · Linda Raecharming little park but keep in mind it’s a KOA Journey in downtown Fort Pierce and means traffic and train noise. The park itself is very clean and seems to be maintained with care. Being a Journey, there aren't really amenitiesThe sites are not the biggest, but you have plenty of room to put out your slides and awning. The sites are packed dirt and gravel, and each has a little brick paved patio with a picnic table. Our site had 20/30/50 amp service, water, sewer, and cable. The vast majority of sites are pull-thru, adding to the convenience of this park. While they provide Wi-Fi it was nonexistent in our spot towards the back of the park. So I would not rely on that.A KOA Journey is intended to be a quick stop, maybe 1 night, maybe 3, whatever your needs are. This park is close to Florida's Turnpike and Interstate 95 and convenient to RV dealerships in the area.
Mar 07, 2025 · Biagio CerbelliFriendly staff, good location to the beaches. Brand new bathrooms, clean as can be. I didn't hear any bothersome noise from traffic or trains.
Mar 11, 2025 · Ralph Pistor3/25 Downtown KOA of Ft Pierce. Second stay here for us. Everything we Ned, level clean and safely located sites. Staff was helpful in getting us in a day earlier than we booked.
