Located in the picturesque Texas Hill Country, this establishment offers a direct gateway to some of the state's most beloved outdoor activities, particularly river floating and camping. If you're a local seeking a genuine river experience with the convenience of on-site amenities, Bergheim is designed to be your launchpad for adventure.
Bergheim Campground aims to provide a rustic and engaging experience, focusing on easy access to the river. While the experience may evolve, the core appeal lies in its prime location for enjoying the Guadalupe. It’s a place where you can set up camp, grab your tube or kayak, and effortlessly drift down the river, a quintessential Texas pastime. The setting itself, with mature trees and direct river frontage, offers a serene backdrop for making lasting memories with family and friends.
The emphasis here is on the river and the outdoor lifestyle it facilitates. As with any long-standing local business, there can be shifts in operations or ownership, which may influence guest experiences. However, the consistent draw remains the unparalleled access to the Guadalupe River. It’s important for visitors to approach their trip with the understanding that this is a natural environment, and conditions, especially river levels, can vary, impacting activities like floating. The essence of Bergheim is its direct connection to the river, providing a laid-back and authentic Texas outdoor adventure.

The drive to Bergheim is typically scenic, preparing you for the natural beauty that awaits.
The key to Bergheim's appeal is its direct frontage on the Guadalupe River. Bergheim Campground and River Outfitter Reviews
The website was absolutely terrible, provided now information, and as soon as we got there after driving an hour, they told us that the river was too low to float. There was nothing saying anything on Facebook, Google, anything. Absolutely horrible communication. Never going back.
Jun 28, 2025 · Ava RaePrices vary based on new owners whim atm unfortunately. Perhaps this will change, Lord willing. Show the love of Christ to this man. He's a nice guy. I miss the man who used to run the place, his belated father. We (our entire family and extended family) were loyal regulars for generations. His belated father was indeed a man of great kindness, honesty, compassion, professionalism and honorable business practices. I hope to see the same developments come in fullness with the new owner. He was gracious to me in my severely injured status out of compassion. Be patient and kind and watch the impact the Lord does here.
Oct 15, 2024 · Kelly VaughnWhen we arrived we payed for a following group behind us and when they arrived they were forced to pay a second time doubling our payment and the owner REFUSED to listen to reason and blamed it on a drought was a terrible experience for our wallets.
Apr 19, 2025 · Eobard ThawneCame here in May of 2019 and rented kayaks with some friends and the trip down the Guadalupe was so peaceful and serene. There were a few rapids- maybe class III- it did rain for a bit on our trip but it was all well worth it. A bit on the pricey side but it was about a two hour ride and they shuttled us back from the drop off point. For what it’s worth it was a wonderful experience.
Jun 10, 2020 · With Love, AngeliqueI took my son to camp on Saturday. It was his first time camping. The state park was booked through June so I had to find some place close by. Don't let the front campers prevent you from staying. The staff were very friendly. The camping area was clean and quiet. The tent pad was comfortable compared to most that are very hard. It was quiet after 11pm. The women's bathroom was clean with no bad smells. It is a great location next to the river with options to float, swim or fish. Overall I would give this place a four star. I didn't give it 5 stars just because I bought some wood from them and couldn't get it to start. I never have had problems with starting a fire and even got some charcoal lighter fluid for a boost but, no such luck. I may have just grabbed a bad bunch. Thanks for a great experience.
