Base Camp Family Campground Reviews
This RV campground was the perfect place for our overnight after a day at the Great Sand Dunes. We were able to rent sand sled equipment on site and the RV host was absolutely amazing! The most helpful and kind RV host and owner! Bathroom-shower house combo and clean and convenient! Not much shade as trees are still maturing, but to be expected in the southern Colorado area.
Jul 06, 2025 · Adeana BrewerEasy check-in, beautiful views, services as advertised, clean restrooms. Base Camp is fantastic, and the staff is incredible. Dave even drove me into town to the airport to get a car rental when we had some issues with our car.The views are beautiful and it truly is in the middle of many many things to do. Understand that this is exactly as advertised, a base camp campground. It’s not a destination in end of itself. They are also growing some trees but there is not much protection from the wind so if you have a pop-up like we did you may want to keep an eye on the weather. But the sites are huge and awesome, and everything is re-graded every day. Great spot, we will come again if we are in the area.
Jun 23, 2025 · M LandBase Camp Family Campground is the best of the best. The sites are huge and well maintained. The view is spectacular with amazing sunrises and sunsets. The bathhouse has large clean shower rooms with plenty of room. The laundry area has two washers and dryers for minimal cost.Josh and the camp hosts are extremely helpful: friendly, caring, serving. We had plenty of time during our long term stay to experience Base Camp at its fullest. No one could ask for more! Many thanks to Josh, Dave, Sam, Tim, and Jen for all you do to make Base Camp the BEST OF THE BEST!!!!
May 19, 2025 · Jan GreenJosh and his family are outstanding hosts. The campgrounds are clean, well proportioned and the bathroom facilities are great. I highly recommend and will certainly stay there again next time we are through that part of the country. Phenomenal views.
Jul 08, 2025 · Scott McMahonThis campground has huge level gravel sites. The owners were very helpful in setting up our reservation. The hosts that were on site were also very friendly and dropped off ice and a sled to use in the sand dunes. We did have an accident in the dunes, and the owners went out of their way to call and check on how my son was doing. I felt that was above and beyond. I highly recommend a stay here. The views at sunrise and sunset were very beautiful.
