Base Camp at Golden Gate Canyon Reviews
Base Camp at Golden Gate Canyon is everything you expect it to be and more from the overview! Nestled right in beautiful Colorado, even! & I love camping! Okay, I admit, I love ‘camping’ in parks where there are cabins with beds and air! But they have all sites, not just cabins, of course. (: I have 3 children and not one of them wanted to leave!!! (Made my sanity go a bit crazy, but says a lot when children stay somewhere for vacation and aren’t complaining and becoming bored before the end!) When we didn’t understand something they jumped to explain without being annoyed or irritated. They really hooked us up there! A little note: in my experience, and I’m sure everyone there is great, but Dillon, especially, took so much time to answer our questions show us around and ensure we had a quality time! He was so kind and has that approachable personality of someone who loves to help others and ensure you have the best possible time!! 10/10 would stop again!

Jun 26, 2025 · Paul ZamoraNOT worth the price for camping. The professional photos on their website are misleading. My note to myself in my travel itinerary was "Don't stay here again $$$ and dirty/dumb"Cons: The sites were not kept clean or even relatively safe. Some garbage we picked up was sharp, and some of the long-term tenants just toss their produce scraps into the road/other sites which can attract pests, which then can attract coyotes (which we heard at night and in the early morning). Also our grill was unusable because the metal had corroded leaving the bottom with holes- making it unsafe to use. For the cost of the campsite it's crazy to me that it also costs money to shower. Please change the wording on your website to say paid showers instead of just showers. The bathroom code... so many things. 1) It's wrong on the handout and I'm pretty sure they found that out when checking me in. 2) It's 5 digits, which isn't really that bad... but when paired with...3) you have to "wake up" the buttons for the numbers you push to actually work (it will make a noise for each number you push when it's working correctly). So in reality it's more like a 9-digit code when you have to push so many buttons before it wakes up and have to hit the check mark at the end.4) Sometimes the door isn't shut right so you can just walk in.Even the cabin layout is weird to me. If you look at some of the photos I'll be posting it's hard to tell which fire pit/picnic table/grill area is for each. They're all so on top of each other.Pros: Staff is nice and helpful. I had three different people help me with the bathroom code/getting into the bathroom.
Jun 02, 2025 · Nikki FeldyBase Camp at Goldne Canyon is my place and has been for 8 years now. I love it. It's clean and nice and beautiful and the staff are very down to earth. Dillon is very attentive and nice and so is Dale as the rest of the staff. My boyfriend and I love it here. It's are place to get away and also have all the amenities that go along with it.
Jun 13, 2025 · Aimee MauricioI was fortunate to find this treasure of a place by accident. My wife and I stayed here with our two Frenchies for a couple of weeks. We had a fantastic time. The manager Dylan was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Its a dog friendly park with clean amenities. The rv space was large and spacious. There were plenty of trees with shade. We seen a moose eating by our window. There is store that has everything you need or want- The laundry was a little pricey-i wish they would accept credit cards.Definitely recommend this place!!
