Location and Accessibility
The RV Resort is ideally situated at 5300 S I35W, Alvarado, TX 76009, USA. This highly strategic location places the park directly alongside Interstate 35W, one of Texas's most crucial north-south arteries. The immediate proximity to the interstate is a significant advantage for RVers, offering extremely easy navigation for arrival and departure, particularly for large rigs. Despite being next to a major highway, residents report "very little road noise," which is a notable benefit for a roadside park, contributing to a more peaceful environment than one might expect.
Alvarado itself is a small city in Johnson County, Texas, offering a quieter, more rural atmosphere compared to the bustling metropolitan areas. However, its direct connection to I-35W means residents of The RV Resort have excellent accessibility to the wider Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Fort Worth is approximately a 20-30 minute drive north, providing extensive opportunities for employment, diverse dining experiences, comprehensive shopping, cultural attractions, and entertainment venues. Dallas is also within reasonable driving distance, further expanding the range of available amenities and activities.
Beyond its easy access to major cities, the immediate vicinity of The RV Resort also offers specific conveniences for RV owners. The park is noted for being "close to multiple RV dealerships," which is a distinct advantage for maintenance, repairs, or future purchases. Within Alvarado, residents can access basic necessities like grocery stores, local eateries, and gas stations. The blend of a quiet, accessible location with practical proximity to RV-specific services and major urban centers makes The RV Resort particularly well-suited for both transient travelers and long-term residents in Texas.
The ease of navigating in and out of the park with a large RV is frequently highlighted, underscoring its design and layout which prioritizes large rig access. This consideration, combined with minimal road noise, truly optimizes the location for the RV lifestyle in North Texas.

The RV Resort Reviews
So overall, it's a decent place and a good location. However, the office is usually empty, but they office folks do respond and communicate quickly (almost like they are "remote hosts"). The local maintenance guy was very helpful and knowledgeable as well. We stayed over a week and got to experience the fun storms of Texas. Close to multiple RV dealerships, very little road noise, and adequate space. I used the pool, the Hot Tub was not working and was the same temp as the pool (which was fine as it was 95 degrees out), pool/hot tub could use a cleaning but was useable for sure. Feels like a "long term" atmosphere as I saw a lot of folks that have been there for awhile.
Jun 14, 2025 · Jason BreindelWe stayed here for five weeks. Our site was an uncovered pull-thru. Kim, the office manager, and John, the maintenance technician, are both very friendly and helpful. We liked the park's location and found it very easy to navigate through with a large RV.The site was long enough to easily accommodate our F250 and our 40-ft 5th wheel. The sewer connections are at the rear of the site, so we needed to bring out our longest hoses in order to reach the waste valves at the front of our rig. I feel that the pull-thrus are a little closer together than I prefer. Our sewer connection was very close to our neighbor's picnic table. If you prefer more space between you and the next RV, you may want to choose one of the back-in sites. The laundry room has three front-load washers and three dryers. Payment is by card only, and the card readers can be very temperamental, especially on windy days. We had just come from a park that was very diligent about wiping down their machines twice a day, so I was disappointed that the washers were often dirtier than I am used to.Although generally a nice park, I think that it is a little overpriced, especially since there is no cable service and the Wifi is only free for a limited period of time. Future guests may also want to know that paying with a credit card will result in extra fees. For a monthly rate, those fees increased our payment by about $30.
Mar 20, 2025 · Kendra DuBoulayDO NOT USE THIS RV PARK. I have been trying to figure out how to apply and the manager has been blowing me off. They then told me that I had 3 days to move in even through they have said for a deposit it was a week. They had horrible customer service. Everytime I asked about a space they turned out the next day and said it wasn’t available even though they never answered my messages. Find a better park with better service
Apr 08, 2025 · Nicholas MeadorThe park itself is nice, all concrete, covered spots available, dog park, pool laundry etc. The problem is that my girlfriend committed suicide in my camper while I was staying there. Adding to my grief and suffering, the owners of the park evicted me due to "police activity"! We weren't fighting, causing a scene, playing loud music, dealing drugs, I called 911 because she ended her life! Very traumatic day, and zero care from the owners! Don't plan on calling 911 if you're there, you'll be kicked out and moving with their eviction notice! Absolutely horrible experience during the worst time of my life!
