Not sure who is still running this park or if there is all new folks living here, but I have a horror story that I would like to share with everyone about living on Moncrief Dr.Back in 2007, a family member of mine was lied to about renting to to own a trailer in this park. Was told it would cost a set amount and believed they were paying on it and would own it when payment was complete and the amount was added to the lot rent each month. Only to find out right before it would be paid in full, that they were in fact not owning it one bit and then were wrongfully evicted by the then park manager. If this said manager and even the owner who was working with the manager is no longer there, then this park would probably be an alright place to live. But if the manager and park owner from 2007 are still living in the park and/or running it in any way, I would stay FAR away from this park! - Kiwi

Romaine Commons Introduce

For many residents throughout Missouri, the decision of where to live involves weighing factors such as affordability, community atmosphere, and convenient access to daily necessities. Mobile home parks, often referred to as manufactured home communities, present a distinct housing alternative that can align with these priorities. In Fenton, Missouri, Romaine Commons is one such community that has been a part of the local housing landscape for many years. This article aims to provide a clear and informative overview of Romaine Commons, offering insights for local Missouri users who are exploring mobile home living options in the Fenton area.

A mobile home park functions as a dedicated residential area where manufactured homes are situated on leased lots. This model allows individuals to own their homes while paying rent for the land, which can often make homeownership more accessible compared to traditional stick-built houses. These communities are typically managed, providing essential infrastructure and fostering a neighborhood environment. Romaine Commons, located in Fenton, offers this type of living arrangement, catering to residents who prefer the lifestyle and potential cost benefits associated with manufactured home communities within the larger St. Louis metropolitan area.

Mobile home parks typically offer a foundational set of services to support their residents. While comprehensive and detailed service lists for Romaine Commons may not be widely advertised in public domain information, based on the general operational practices of manufactured home communities, you can usually expect the following:

  • Lot Rental: The core service is the provision of individual land lots on which residents place their manufactured homes. The monthly lot rent covers the use of this space and access to the community's infrastructure.
  • Community Management: A management team oversees the park's operations, including the enforcement of community rules and handling administrative aspects of residency. Resident feedback suggests there is a lot manager on site.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: This generally includes the upkeep of common areas within the park, such as internal roads and possibly lighting, to ensure a functional and navigable environment for residents.
  • Utility Hookups: Individual lots are typically equipped with connections for essential utilities, such as water, sewer, and electricity, allowing residents to establish service for their homes.
  • Waste Collection: Common mobile home park services include arrangements for refuse collection to maintain cleanliness within the community.

Romaine Commons offers a particular housing option for locals in the Missouri region, specifically within the Fenton area. For Missourians, mobile home parks can be a suitable choice when seeking an alternative to traditional rental apartments or single-family homeownership, often due to differing cost structures. The park's location in Fenton provides residents with access to local amenities and a reasonable commute to other parts of the St. Louis metropolitan area, which can be an attractive factor for individuals and families who work or have interests in the broader region.

However, it is crucial for prospective residents to exercise thorough due diligence when considering Romaine Commons. Public feedback from current and past residents highlights significant concerns regarding past management practices, particularly surrounding the transparency of rent-to-own agreements and more recent increases in lot rent without commensurate amenity improvements. These accounts also mention strict enforcement of rules, sometimes perceived as inflexible, and a focus on financial aspects over resident welfare. While the current lot manager is noted as trying their best, the overarching sentiment regarding "management" should be carefully considered.

Therefore, for any local user in Missouri considering Romaine Commons, it is highly recommended to:

  1. Visit the park in person to assess the current living conditions and atmosphere.
  2. Engage directly with the current management to clarify all terms of lot rent, any potential for rent increases, and the specifics of all rules and regulations.
  3. Inquire about the history of the park, including any past issues, and seek assurances regarding current practices, especially concerning home ownership agreements if applicable.
  4. If possible, speak with current residents to gather varied perspectives on daily life in the community, the responsiveness of management, and overall satisfaction.
Understanding all financial obligations and the landlord-tenant relationship is paramount. While Romaine Commons provides a mobile home living option in Fenton, a comprehensive and cautious approach to investigation is essential to ensure it meets your expectations for a stable and positive living environment.
