Red Ear River - Boat and RV Park Reviews
We had an okay experience here. Unfortunately, it’s not as advertised or as it appears at the entrance. While the staff was friendly, they are not on site. It appears most folks in the park are long term stays. None of these things are inherently negative, however, it is a different experience for someone just passing through.Positives:- gated access- beautiful views on the water- friendly staff- affordable- full hook ups- very quiet/peaceful- cabana was nice with great viewNegatives:- Lots of loose trash around the site. (Staff did immediately pick up most of it upon our arrival to the specified spot).- At least two dogs were off leash on the property: one collared and friendly one appeared to be a puppy.- At least two cats roaming the property. One cat definitely sprayed on and around our camper, leaving our site smelling like cat urine for the duration of our stay.- Long term residents do have a lot of stuff spread out, leaving the property with a less than desirable appearance.- Spaces are gravel, but overgrown.- We were placed next to someone sleeping in their cargo van with no hook ups and windows secured with duct tape. (normally this wouldn’t be odd, but there are no restrooms, showers nor laundry facilities on site, so it did leave us a little uncomfortable.)- We were traveling with our one year old and there wasn’t anywhere we felt would be a safe place for her to play on our site or in the park.
Feb 17, 2024 · Rachel HunsellGreat place. Safe, quiet. Cozy tucked away from caos of Houston. 5 minutes from ferry. Boat Races from Yacht club direct view 👌 flip rocks for crabs early in year. My kids and I always found money at the shoreline YES. coins
Aug 08, 2023 · Sarah SlackThis place is awesome! You can swim in the river, and there's plenty of fish to catch. Beautiful sunsets and pleasant people. There's also a boat launch, fire pit and a large gazebo. This place is dog friendly and clean. The Wi-Fi could use an extender. Highland Park is 3 minutes away and the grocery store is just around the corner. A great place to bring your family and stay awhile.
Jun 21, 2023 · Max BubarWe stayed here with our family and it was such a nice experience. Very relaxing to wake up with a nice water front view. Felt very safe as the property is fully gated and you have access code to get in and out. Maintenance was very helpful as we got in late but they still took the time to explain everything to us. We will definitely be back.
Jun 18, 2023 · Dulce MoralesI've been here for a month and am very happy with this place. It's very clean and we'll kept. Met the owners twice and they are a very nice couple. The maint. man here is very friendly and helpful. I gave it 5 stars because in my opinion it deserves it. Great view of the river. Love the horse shoe shape fishing pier. Stores close by. We stay all over the country in our RV and this will definitely be one of our stops while in the area. Lots to do around here , but quiet in the park. That's the way the wife and I like it.
