Ohio Valley RV Park Introduce
For many in Ohio, particularly those in the industrious Ohio Valley region, finding suitable accommodation that aligns with a demanding work schedule can be a challenge. In Martins Ferry, Ohio, the Ohio Valley RV Park aims to meet this specific need, positioning itself as a "working man's RV park." This article is designed for you, a local user in Ohio, to provide a transparent, engaging, and informative overview of this park. We'll delve into its unique characteristics, services, and location, helping you determine if it's the right fit for your RV or long-term stay needs in the area.
RV parks serve a diverse clientele, from vacationers seeking leisure to professionals requiring extended stays near their job sites. Ohio Valley RV Park explicitly caters to the latter, particularly "oil and gas workers." Understanding this focus is crucial, as it shapes the park's environment and offerings. Unlike a traditional campground focused on tranquility and recreational amenities, a "working man's RV park" prioritizes essential services and convenient access to industrial areas, often accepting a trade-off in ambient noise for practicality.
We will present all available public information about Ohio Valley RV Park, including direct customer feedback, to give you a comprehensive and factual perspective. While some feedback highlights significant challenges related to noise and cost, our goal is to help you weigh these factors against the park's stated purpose and services. This way, you can make an informed decision about your stay in the Ohio Valley.
Ohio Valley RV Park is situated at 100 Center St, Martins Ferry, OH 43935, USA. Martins Ferry, located in Belmont County, Ohio, is part of the broader Ohio Valley, an area historically and presently characterized by its industrial activity, including its significant role in the oil and gas sector. The park's address places it directly "in the industrial part of town," a key aspect that defines its environment and suitability for its target demographic.
The park's location offers "easy access to Interstate 70 and Ohio State Route 7, as well as connections to other roads throughout the valley." This is a significant advantage for working professionals, particularly those in the oil and gas industry, who need efficient routes to various job sites in the Marcellus and Utica shale deposits. The convenience of quick access to major highways helps minimize commute times after long shifts.
However, the industrial setting comes with notable considerations regarding accessibility and the immediate surroundings. Customer reviews explicitly mention that the park is "surrounded with very active train tracks on 2 sides of the park so close you can throw a rock and hit either track." Additionally, a "trucking company that backs up to the lot" contributes to the industrial ambiance. This means that while transportation access is excellent, the park is not in a quiet, secluded natural setting. It is designed for functionality and convenience for those working in the nearby industrial landscape, offering practical access rather than a serene escape. Prospective residents should factor in this industrial context when evaluating the park's location.
Ohio Valley RV Park positions itself as a practical solution for long-term campers, specifically catering to the needs of "oil and gas workers." As such, it focuses on providing essential services that are crucial for individuals living and working in their RVs for extended periods.
Full Hookup Sites: The park offers full hookup sites, which include:
City Water: Reliable access to potable city water at each site.
Sewer: Direct sewer connections at each site for convenient wastewater disposal.
Electricity (30-amp and 50-amp): Sites are equipped with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, accommodating a wide range of RV power requirements.
Internet Access (Wi-Fi): The park advertises "FREE high-speed Wi-Fi." However, customer reviews indicate that the internet connectivity can be unreliable, stating "internet, when it works." This suggests that while Wi-Fi is offered, its consistent functionality might be a consideration.
Excellent Cell Phone Reception: The park claims "excellent cell phone reception," which is a valuable service for individuals relying on mobile communication for work and personal use.
Weekly Trash Pickup: To ensure cleanliness and convenience for long-term residents, weekly trash pickup is provided.
Snow Removal and Other Seasonal Services: For year-round residents, the park offers seasonal services such as snow removal, which is particularly important during Ohio's winter months to maintain accessibility within the park.
Plenty of Space for Maneuvering and Truck Parking: The sites are designed to accommodate large campers and provide ample space for truck parking, which is a critical service for oil and gas workers who often travel with larger vehicles and equipment.
Safe and Secure Fenced Lot: The park aims to provide a secure environment, describing itself as a "safe, securely fenced lot."
Level, Dry Sites: The sites are described as being on a "level gravel area," which contributes to ease of setup for RVs and helps keep the sites dry.
While these services cover the basic necessities for RV living, the provided customer reviews emphasize that the primary value proposition is functionality for workers, rather than recreational amenities or a peaceful environment.
Ohio Valley RV Park, while not a typical recreational campground, highlights specific features that cater directly to its intended clientele: the "working man," particularly those involved in the oil and gas industry in the Ohio Valley.
Dedicated to Oil & Gas Workers: This is the most significant highlight. The park is "Designed for long-term campers in general and catering to the needs of oil and gas workers in particular." It explicitly states its convenience for those "working to harvest natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale deposits found throughout the Ohio Valley." This focus means the park's infrastructure and services are tailored to the practical needs of this workforce, such as accommodating large campers and providing truck parking.
Year-Round Availability: The park is available year-round, which is crucial for workers whose schedules are not seasonal. This ensures consistent accommodation regardless of the time of year.
Full Hookups and Essential Utilities Included: The provision of full hookup sites with city water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electric is a fundamental highlight, ensuring residents have all basic utilities for comfortable long-term RV living. The fact that utility costs are generally included in the monthly rent (as noted in one public description for $600/month, though reviews mention $650) simplifies budgeting.
Strategic Location for Work Access: Its location in Martins Ferry offers "easy access to Interstate 70 and Ohio State Route 7," which is a key logistical feature for workers needing to travel to job sites efficiently. The park being "right in town" also suggests proximity to basic town services.
Safe and Secure Environment: The park promotes itself as a "safe, securely fenced lot," aiming to provide peace of mind for residents who might be away for long work shifts.
However, it's critical to also acknowledge the significant highlight raised by customer reviews, albeit a negative one, which forms a core feature of the park's environment:
Persistent Noise from Industrial Surroundings: Both customer reviews heavily emphasize the pervasive noise. The park is "surrounded with very active train tracks on 2 sides... so close you can throw a rock and hit either track." Additionally, a "trucking company that backs up to the lot" operates "all night working on the trucks playing music and yelling." The trains "blows its horns all night and sounds like its in your camper with you seven days a week non-stop." This constant industrial and train noise is repeatedly cited as a major drawback, impacting sleep and relaxation, making it a defining (though challenging) feature of the park's environment.
Therefore, while the park offers practical features for its target demographic, prospective residents must be fully aware of and prepared for the significant noise levels that define its setting.
Based on the available public information, Ohio Valley RV Park primarily focuses on its established monthly rates designed for long-term stays, particularly for the working demographic it serves. There are no specific, time-limited "promotions or special offers" explicitly advertised in the provided data.
However, the park does clarify its pricing structure, which can be seen as a form of "offer" for those seeking extended accommodation:
Monthly Rate: The park states a monthly rental price for RV parking sites, which, according to one source, is "$600 per month, which includes your utility costs and FREE Wi-Fi." However, customer reviews from actual residents consistently state a higher price of "$650 a month." It is crucial for prospective residents to verify the exact and current monthly rate directly with the park management, as pricing can fluctuate. This monthly rate, inclusive of utilities, is a key value proposition for long-term renters, simplifying budgeting.
Weekly and Daily Prices: The park also mentions offering "weekly and daily prices." While the specific rates for these shorter durations are not provided in the data, their availability offers flexibility for those who may not require a full month's stay.
Given the park's focus on essential services for workers, its "special offers" are more ingrained in its long-term, all-inclusive pricing model rather than typical short-term promotional discounts. For the most accurate and up-to-date pricing, including any unadvertised deals or specific terms for long-term commitments, it is essential to contact Ohio Valley RV Park directly.

For certain segments of the Ohio population, particularly "working men" and specifically oil and gas workers operating in the Ohio Valley, Ohio Valley RV Park in Martins Ferry offers a uniquely tailored housing solution. While customer reviews consistently highlight significant challenges related to noise and perceived cost, understanding the park's specific niche reveals its suitability for its target demographic.
The primary reason this park is suitable for its intended local users stems from its unrivaled practicality for the industrial workforce. Its location at 100 Center St, Martins Ferry, OH 43935, is undeniably strategic for those tied to the industrial heartbeat of the Ohio Valley. With "easy access to Interstate 70 and Ohio State Route 7," it minimizes commute times to job sites within the Marcellus and Utica shale deposits. For individuals working long, demanding shifts, a short and efficient commute to a site with full hookups (city water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electric) is a critical advantage, even if it comes with the trade-off of an industrial environment. The availability of ample truck parking is also a non-negotiable feature for many in this line of work.
The park's focus on long-term stays and year-round availability further solidifies its suitability. Unlike many recreational campgrounds that close for the season or have strict stay limits, Ohio Valley RV Park is designed for continuous occupancy, providing a stable base for workers whose assignments may last for months or even years. The all-inclusive monthly rate (though its exact figure should be confirmed) simplifies budgeting for these extended stays, providing predictability in housing costs.
However, it's paramount for any prospective resident from Ohio to acknowledge the significant trade-offs highlighted by existing reviews. The park is situated between active train tracks and adjacent to a working trucking company, resulting in "very active train tracks on 2 sides... so close you can throw a rock," and a trucking company operating "all night working on the trucks playing music and yelling." This relentless industrial noise is a critical factor and means the park is explicitly not suitable for those seeking peace, quiet, or a relaxing environment. For those who prioritize sleep and quiet relaxation after a long shift, the park's suitability is severely diminished.
In conclusion, Ohio Valley RV Park is purpose-built for the functional needs of the working individual in the industrial zones of the Ohio Valley. For locals who prioritize logistical convenience, essential RV hookups, and consistent year-round availability over quietude and recreational amenities, and who are prepared to adapt to a continuously noisy environment, this park can serve its intended purpose effectively. For all others, a different type of RV park or housing solution in Ohio would be a more appropriate choice. We encourage direct contact at (304) 312-0923 to ascertain if its unique features align with your specific requirements.

Ohio Valley RV Park Reviews
I agree with the post below. I travel the country working and have never paid so much for a camp lot that offered so little. The park is surrounded with very active train tracks on 2 sides of the park so close you can throw a rock and hit either track and if that is not enough there is a trucking company that backs up to the lot ans Monday - Friday the are up all night working on the trucks playing music and yelling so after a 12-14 hour work day then you get home and have to listen to trains and industrial workers all night. You won't sleep!!! This is another get rich fast scheme to rip off the oil field workers so I suggest find another place bc at $650 a month here with no sleep makes for a long miserable stay!!!
Apr 05, 2017 · William LawlerThis is deffineatly a working man's RV park. Has all ur basics...sewer..power...electric..and internet, when it works. The park is on a level gravel area in the industrial part of town. If you hate to sleep and like staying up throughout the night after you worked a long 14, 15 hour shift, then this might be the park for you.Yes, it comes with a train that's not more than a 100 foot from the park.It blows its horns all night and sounds like its in your camper with you seven days a week non-stop.If you take a day off and want to just relax, think again. The noise from surrounding businesses will not let you relax. Not much sleep going on there. As for the pricing, this park charges a little more than the rest of the parks besides one other in the area. 650.00 a month for no sleep. I highly recommend you find another place togo.Thats just my opinion.
