RV parks in California serve a diverse range of needs, from providing temporary havens for travelers exploring the Golden State's vast natural beauty to offering affordable and community-rich living solutions for those seeking a more flexible lifestyle. Lakeshore Villa RV Park stands out in this landscape due to its demonstrated commitment to fostering a "great big family" atmosphere where "everybody helps each other whenever somebody is in need or has problems." This emphasis on genuine human connection and mutual support creates an environment that goes beyond mere accommodation, truly offering a place to call home.
Lakehead, California, is strategically located near the expansive Shasta Lake, a major hub for outdoor recreation in Northern California. This region is a popular destination for boating, fishing, hiking, and exploring the stunning natural landscapes of the Shasta Trinity National Forest. Lakeshore Villa RV Park's position within this area makes it an ideal base for experiencing the outdoor adventures the region has to offer, while providing a peaceful and secure place to return to. Despite some historical issues that may have affected its appearance, recent feedback strongly indicates a vibrant and caring community, making it a noteworthy consideration for any Californian looking for an RV park experience that prioritizes safety, cleanliness, and a strong sense of belonging.
Location and Accessibility
Lakeshore Villa RV Park is conveniently located at 20672 Lakeshore Dr, Lakehead, CA 96051, USA. This address places the park in a strategic and accessible spot within the Lakehead area, a community known for its close proximity to Shasta Lake and the vast recreational opportunities of Northern California.
The park is positioned just "one-half mile off I-5," making it exceptionally easy to access for travelers heading north or south through California. This excellent freeway access is a significant advantage for those using the park as a stopover during longer journeys, or as a base for exploring the wider region without lengthy detours. Its location in the "cove of Doney Creek at the NW of Sacramento River" indicates a naturally beautiful setting, offering a peaceful environment despite its proximity to the interstate.
A major draw of Lakehead is its direct access to Shasta Lake, California's largest man-made reservoir. Lakeshore Villa RV Park is noted for having "direct access to Lake Shasta," though it involves a "small walk down to the later." This proximity means residents and guests can easily enjoy activities on the lake, such as boating, fishing, and swimming. While boats must be launched at a different location, the ability to walk to the lake's edge is a distinct benefit. The park also "backs up to a creek where swimming and fishing are popular," further enhancing its appeal for water-based recreation (fishing requires a state license).
For daily needs, Lakehead offers some basic amenities, including a small gas station within walking distance and a small grocery store within driving distance. The larger city of Redding, which provides more extensive shopping, dining, medical facilities (including Shasta Regional Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center Redding), and other urban conveniences, is approximately 25 miles south, a comfortable drive via I-5. Local attractions like Shasta Dam and the stunning Lake Shasta Caverns are also easily accessible, making Lakeshore Villa RV Park a well-situated hub for both practical living and adventure in the Shasta Cascade region.

Feb 22, 2025 · Chris AinsworthI have had a wonderful time there being able to reconnect with a friend and also the place is clean and ready for the next adventure.
Feb 08, 2025 · Tiffany LewisWe spent one night here in our 17' Coleman camper on our way back to Portland from Roseville, California, in early November. Camp host greeted us as we arrived in the dark, guided us to our site, and loaned us a water hose. We we're warm, safe, and felt valued for $40. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you.
Nov 17, 2024 · Mike WellsMy family and I have had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with the park managers, and have always been treated with respect, and been shown above and beyond hospitality, and welcome, and it's clear that they truly care about the park residents. It's so nice of an experience in today's fast paced impersonal way of life, one in which customer service is rapidly becoming a fondly missed memory of better days passed. We werent sure what to expect when we first arrived at the park, and were a bit hesitant at first, but we're so very glad we chose this park, weve been so pleasantly surprised, and absolutely love the sense of community, and neighbor looking out for neighbor, theyve made us feel like family. We'll be sure to visit as often as we can, and have recommended many friends and family on their travels through the area. Some of the best experiences of my life have taken place outside my comfort zones and in unexpected situations. Thanks for everything Lakeshore villa, you guys are the very best!! Travis and family 😃
