Kiowa RV Park and Tiny Home Community Introduce
Welcome to Kiowa RV Park and Tiny Home Community, located at 909 Jackson Ave, Idabel, OK 74553. This unique destination in southeastern Oklahoma offers a blend of RV parking and a burgeoning tiny home community, aiming to provide flexible living solutions in a convenient setting.
However, it's important for prospective visitors and residents, particularly those located in Oklahoma, to be fully informed about the environment and community dynamics. While offering the appeal of a tiny home community and RV park, some past experiences shared by customers highlight aspects that may affect your stay, especially if a quiet environment is a top priority.
The park's proximity to a train track is a significant factor, with trains reportedly passing through frequently, which can impact the overall tranquility. Additionally, concerns have been raised about noise from continuously barking dogs and general cleanliness issues from some residents. These elements suggest that while the park aims to be a community, a serene, peaceful atmosphere might not always be guaranteed.
For those considering Kiowa RV Park and Tiny Home Community, understanding these potential challenges is crucial to ensure it aligns with your expectations for an RV stay or a longer-term tiny home living experience. It's a place that offers practical options for lodging and community, but one where potential residents should weigh all factors before committing to ensure it's the right fit for their lifestyle.
Kiowa RV Park and Tiny Home Community is situated at 909 Jackson Ave, Kiowa, OK 74553, USA. This location places the community in the town of Kiowa, a small but accessible town in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. Kiowa is positioned in a part of the state that, while offering a quieter pace of life, remains connected to larger regional hubs and natural attractions.
The park's address on Jackson Avenue indicates its placement within the town structure, suggesting relatively easy navigation for RVs and vehicles. Essential services such as local shops, gas stations, and basic amenities in Kiowa are typically within a short driving distance, providing convenience for residents and visitors.
One crucial aspect of the location, as highlighted by reviews, is its "very very close" proximity to a train track. This means that trains pass through frequently, potentially as often as "every hour," which can result in significant noise disturbance. Prospective residents and visitors should be aware of this when considering a stay, as it directly impacts the auditory environment of the park.
Despite the train noise, Kiowa's location in Oklahoma allows for access to broader regional attractions. While not directly adjacent to major state parks or lakes like some other RV parks, its central Oklahoma location might make it a feasible stop for those traveling through the area or working on local contracts. The town of Kiowa itself offers local parks and a glimpse into small-town Oklahoma life. For those who prioritize convenience over absolute quietness and need a base in this specific region, the park's accessibility within Kiowa is a functional aspect. However, the consistent train activity is an undeniable element of its geographical setting that merits strong consideration.
Based on the concept of an RV park and tiny home community, and acknowledging the customer feedback, here are the services typically offered, alongside areas that may require clarification or improvement based on reviews:
- RV Park Sites: Offers spaces for recreational vehicles, presumably with standard hookups (electric, water, sewer) essential for RV living. Specific amperage details (30/50 amp) would typically be provided by the park directly.
- Tiny Home Lots/Rentals: Provides spaces or rental units for tiny homes, catering to individuals seeking long-term, compact living solutions. This implies access to necessary utilities for tiny home setup.
- Community Aspect: The designation as a "community" suggests an intention to foster a shared living environment, though customer reviews indicate potential challenges in maintaining this ideal (e.g., issues with unaddressed problems like trash and unpaid rent).
- Basic Infrastructure: Common to such parks, it would include roads and designated parking for residents and their guests.
- Waste Management: Presumably offers access to dumpsters for trash disposal. However, customer feedback highlights instances where proper waste disposal by some residents is a concern for neighbors.
- Pet Policy (with noted issues): The community likely has a pet policy given the presence of dogs. However, reviews indicate a challenge in enforcing policies regarding nuisance barking and potentially unattended animals, which can impact the quiet enjoyment of other residents.
For detailed information on specific amenities such as laundry facilities, bathhouses, Wi-Fi, or specific tiny home features, direct contact with the park management is recommended, as these were not explicitly mentioned or positively highlighted in the provided reviews.
Kiowa RV Park and Tiny Home Community presents a unique offering, though some features might be perceived differently by various individuals. Based on the provided customer feedback, here are some points that could be considered features, alongside reported challenges:
- Hybrid RV Park & Tiny Home Community Model: This is a defining characteristic, offering both traditional RV sites and a dedicated community for tiny home residents. This diversity could be a draw for those seeking alternative living arrangements or extended stays in smaller dwellings.
- Proximity to Town of Kiowa: Being located within Kiowa, OK, provides convenient access to local services and amenities, which can be a practical benefit for long-term residents.
- Potential for Affordable Living: Tiny home communities often appeal to individuals looking for more affordable housing solutions compared to traditional apartments or homes. This could be a highlight for budget-conscious locals.
- Observation Point for Unique Events (e.g., Solar Eclipse): The mention of watching the solar eclipse from the park suggests that its open layout might be suitable for viewing celestial or natural phenomena, offering a unique, if occasional, benefit.
- Long-term Stay Potential: The nature of a tiny home community and the presence of long-term residents (as implied by discussions of rent and daily visitors) indicate that the park caters to extended stays, offering a stable base for those working or living in the area.
Challenges / Considerations from Reviews: It's important to present a balanced view based on provided information. Customers have highlighted:
- Frequent Train Noise: The park is "very very close to a train track that seems like at least every hour a train is coming through," which is a significant factor impacting quiet enjoyment.
- Nuisance Barking: Reports of "a dog up outside that barks constantly" and apparent lack of "serious attempt to remove the dog" indicate challenges with noise control and pet policy enforcement.
- Community Conduct Concerns: Mentions of "long time waste water hose broken," "bragging of 2 not paying their rent for many many months," and neighbors picking up "trash from wherever they throw it" suggest potential issues with community management and resident accountability that could affect the living experience for others.
These points should be carefully considered by prospective residents seeking a truly peaceful or impeccably maintained environment.

For residents of Oklahoma, Kiowa RV Park and Tiny Home Community in Idabel presents a distinct option, particularly for those seeking alternative living arrangements or extended RV stays within the state. While it offers practical solutions, potential residents should carefully consider its specific characteristics to determine if it aligns with their expectations and lifestyle.
One primary reason this location might be suitable for some Oklahomans is its offering of both RV spaces and tiny home living options. This caters to a growing demographic interested in minimalistic living or more affordable, long-term housing solutions that traditional real estate might not provide. For those working locally or needing a stable base in Pittsburg County, the community could offer a practical alternative to apartments or temporary housing.
However, for locals prioritizing a truly "quiet" retreat, the park's proximity to a train track, with frequent train passages, is a significant factor to acknowledge. This continuous noise could be a deterrent for those seeking profound peace and quiet. Similarly, the reported issues with noise from barking dogs and general community cleanliness, if not addressed, could impact the living experience for those who value a serene and well-maintained environment.
Despite these potential challenges, if an Oklahoman's primary need is a cost-effective, long-term spot for their RV or tiny home in the Kiowa area, and they are prepared for the described noise levels and community dynamics, then this park offers a viable solution. It serves a niche by providing flexible living options in a rural Oklahoma town. Prospective residents should engage directly with management, visit the site, and perhaps speak with current residents to ensure a clear understanding of the environment and community expectations before making Kiowa RV Park and Tiny Home Community their home or temporary stop. It's about finding the right fit for your unique needs and preferences within the Oklahoma landscape.

Kiowa RV Park and Tiny Home Community Reviews
Many numerous problems. Keeping 2 occupied campers with long time waste water hose broken. Overhearing the bragging of 2 not paying their rent for many many months. One camper with continual visiters day & nights mostly for only 10 to 15 minutes each. Their poor next door neighbor lady keeps picking up their trash from wherever they throw it & taking it to dumpster 30 ft. away. Can only imagine what the owners of this RV park is really into!!! Ok. I'll stop. Just so disappointed in what I've seen in my short visits there.
Sep 26, 2022 · Tina JohnsonThink twice if quiet is what you are looking for. They are located very very close to a train track that seems like at least every hour a train is coming through. On top of that for some reason people think it is okay to tie a dog up outside that barks constantly. I notified the owner and no serious attempt to remove the dog was made
