We lived here for over a year. Moved from site to site until we got on a half way decent site. My husband helped him out last year when he had to have surgery on his foot, cleaned up and raked sites used the tractor to remove leaves. And helped out after that, when water spikets would break, and the campground would be without water until one was fixed. In order to fix one they have to turn the water off to the whole campground, ( makes no sense, each one should have a turn off) . I will say we have been on 3 different sites and everytime it would rain when you touched anything metal on the camper it would shock you, EVEN THE STEPS, we tried everything. Our dog was scared to go in or out when it rained. He was getting shocked going up and down the stairs. The laundry area just started getting new washers and dryers 3 weeks ago before that the only thing I would even think about washing in them was rugs definitely not our clothes!!! The roads are horrible either huge pot wholes or mounds where he has tried to fix them! They did build a new pavilion the past month and a fire pit area, but that's only for the privilege people 😂. We lived here for over a year and started out good with both of them running the place, for the owner until my husband was to busy to help out anymore (for free mind you). And I told him no more helping and borrowing your tools out!My husband has moved 2 camper's for people who live here because tree limbs have fallen on them, and he was asked by the man running the place to do it. ( We have pictures) Also have plenty of video and pictures of helping them out. And also of him with the tractor bucket above my husband's motorcycle,(thinking he was being cute) ! NOT CUTE! I have personally witnessed him harass other's also. They advertise free wifi and cable well good luck! Even after the " fiber optics were put in" 🤣🤣Definitely not the best place to stay, and especially if you have children! There are people dropped off who run around like they are under the influence, and nothing is done about it, UNLESS you have it on camera, they can't help you! There were multiple times I would call and tell them, and the only response was the police can't do anything unless you can record them. Well okay! So I put cameras up !Not a good place at all , it could be much better!Would just really like to talk to the actual investor who owns it .I also have plenty of pictures and video of everything I have mentioned, and much more! - Nickie Autry

I-65 RV Campground in Creola, Alabama, aims to offer a practical solution for your camping needs. Situated just off Interstate 65, this campground promotes itself as a spot for those looking for easy access to major roadways while still providing essential amenities.

For many Alabamians, finding an RV park that balances accessibility with necessary facilities is key, especially when traversing the state or seeking a longer-term base. I-65 RV Campground is positioned to serve this purpose, offering full hookups, laundry facilities, and a bathhouse. While the park advertises a range of services and aims to provide a comfortable stay, it's important for prospective guests to consider all available information and reviews to ensure it aligns with their specific expectations and needs.

At I-65 RV Campground, the intention is to provide a functional and accessible space for RVers. The park is nestled in the trees, suggesting a potentially quiet setting, and offers various site types to accommodate different vehicles. However, recent experiences shared by past residents and visitors provide a mixed perspective, highlighting both areas of improvement and aspects that might not meet everyone's expectations. These candid insights are valuable for anyone planning a visit, allowing for a more informed decision.

From reviews, it's clear that experiences at I-65 RV Campground can vary. Some positive remarks mention it as a "Good Overnight stop" with "clean showers and restrooms" and a "quiet" atmosphere, especially for pull-through spots. The presence of full hookups and good cell service is also noted positively by some. Conversely, other reviews describe significant concerns, including issues with electrical shocks from campers during rain, poorly maintained roads ("horrible potholes or mounds"), and past problems with laundry facilities. There are also mentions of perceived issues with management responsiveness to specific concerns like unruly individuals or advertised amenities like Wi-Fi and cable that may not consistently work as promoted.

Understanding these varied perspectives is crucial for any Alabamian considering I-65 RV Campground. While the park offers fundamental services and a convenient location, it appears there may be inconsistencies in the delivery of some amenities and responsiveness, which could impact the overall experience. This detailed overview aims to provide a balanced picture, enabling you to make the most informed decision for your RV travels or residency in the Creola area.

I-65 RV Campground is conveniently located at 730 Jackson Rd, Creola, AL 36525, USA. Its primary appeal for travelers lies in its immediate proximity to Interstate 65, a major artery for those traveling through Alabama. This strategic location makes it an easy-on, easy-off stop for RVers passing through the Mobile metropolitan area.

The campground is situated just off Exit 19 of I-65, specifically 0.1 miles north on Highway 43, then 0.9 miles west on Jackson Road. This quick access to the interstate is ideal for those needing an overnight stay or a convenient base without venturing far from the main highway. While directly off the interstate, it aims to offer a quieter setting "nestled in the trees," providing a degree of separation from the highway noise. However, some reviews indicate that highway noise might still be noticeable.

For longer-term stays or those looking to explore the area, Creola itself is a small community, but its proximity to Mobile, Alabama, opens up a broader range of attractions and services. Mobile, approximately an 11-minute drive away, offers a vibrant downtown, historic sites, dining, shopping, and cultural experiences. Key attractions in the Mobile area include the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park, the Mobile Carnival Museum, and Dauphin Street, which features charming architecture and nightlife.

The campground's location also provides reasonable access to various local amenities. Services such as grocery stores, gas stations, and some local eateries can be found in Creola and the surrounding towns like Saraland, just a short drive away. While the park is designed for easy access, visitors should note that some reviews suggest issues with road conditions within the campground itself, advising caution when navigating internal roads with an RV.

Overall, the I-65 RV Campground's primary advantage is its excellent connectivity to Interstate 65 and its close proximity to the larger urban center of Mobile, making it a functional stop for travelers and a potential base for those exploring South Alabama.

I-65 RV Campground aims to provide a range of essential services for RVers, catering to both short-term and long-term stays. Based on public information and reviews, the park offers the following:

  • Full Hookup RV Sites: Each site provides full hookups, including water, sewer, and electrical connections (30 and 50 amp service), which is standard for most RV parks.
  • Pull-Through Sites: Available for easier access, especially for larger rigs or those staying for a short duration.
  • Laundry Facility: The campground offers an on-site laundry area. Recent reviews indicate new washers and dryers have been installed, addressing previous concerns about the quality of the machines.
  • Bathhouse/Restrooms: Facilities are available for guest use. Some reviews mention clean bathrooms, while others describe them as unusable at times, suggesting inconsistency.
  • Dump Station: Available for waste disposal, a standard and necessary amenity for RV parks.
  • Propane Sales: The park advertises a propane filling station, providing a convenient service for refilling tanks. However, one review noted that propane fill might not always be available as shown in pictures or advertised.
  • Pet-Friendly Policy: Pets are allowed, though general rules about leashing and accompaniment apply.
  • Nightly, Weekly, and Monthly Rates: Offers flexibility for various lengths of stay, catering to transient travelers and long-term residents.
  • On-Site Management/Staff: Staff are typically present to assist with check-ins and inquiries, though responsiveness and presence may vary based on individual experiences.
  • New Pavilion and Fire Pit Area: Recent additions that may offer communal gathering spaces. However, one review implies these areas might be for "privileged people" only, suggesting limited access for all residents.

It's important for prospective visitors to note that while these services are listed or advertised, recent guest experiences indicate potential inconsistencies in their quality, availability, or maintenance, particularly concerning Wi-Fi, cable, and the condition of some facilities.

I-65 RV Campground presents a mixed bag of features and highlights, as reflected in various user experiences. While some aspects aim to provide convenience and comfort, others indicate areas where the park might fall short of expectations. Here's a breakdown of its features:

  • Convenient Interstate Access: Its location directly off I-65 (Exit 19) is a significant highlight, offering extremely easy access for travelers passing through Alabama, making it an ideal overnight stop.
  • Full Hookups & Pull-Through Sites: The availability of full hookups (30/50 amp, water, sewer) at all sites, along with pull-through options, provides essential convenience for RVers, accommodating various rig sizes.
  • Recent Laundry Facility Upgrades: According to a recent review, the laundry area has received new washers and dryers, which is a notable improvement for long-term residents and travelers.
  • New Pavilion and Fire Pit Area: The addition of a new pavilion and a fire pit area could serve as valuable communal spaces for relaxation and social gatherings, enhancing the outdoor experience for guests, if accessible to all.
  • Propane Sales: The availability of propane sales on-site is a practical feature, saving guests the trouble of finding off-site refilling stations.
  • Shady Location: The campground is described as "nestled in the trees," suggesting a shaded environment that can be a welcome relief during Alabama's warmer months.
  • Pet-Friendly: The allowance of pets is a common and appreciated feature for many RVers traveling with their furry companions.
  • Potential for Quiet Stays: Some reviews mention a "quiet" environment, particularly for overnight stays in specific pull-through spots, suggesting that peaceful rest is possible for some guests.

However, it's crucial to acknowledge the challenges highlighted by some reviews, which include:

  • Inconsistent Electrical Issues: Reports of campers experiencing electrical shocks when touching metal during rain are a significant safety concern.
  • Poor Road Conditions: Frequent complaints about "horrible potholes or mounds" on the roads within the campground point to maintenance issues that can be challenging for RV navigation.
  • Reliability of Wi-Fi and Cable: Advertised "free wifi and cable" are reportedly unreliable, with guests having difficulty connecting or finding the services functional, even after supposed fiber optic upgrades.
  • Concerns about Management Responsiveness: While some staff may be friendly, there are reports of perceived harassment, lack of proactive solutions for disruptive behavior (unless recorded by guests), and difficulty reaching the actual owner/investor.
  • Social/Safety Concerns: Mentions of "people dropped off who run around like they are under the influence" and a need for guests to install cameras for security raise serious concerns about the overall safety and community environment for some residents, especially those with children.
  • Lack of Amenities/Maintenance: Some visitors reported missing picnic tables, falling gutters on the office, and the advertised propane fill station not being operational, indicating potential neglect of basic amenities.

Given the conflicting reports, prospective visitors should weigh these points carefully and consider contacting the campground directly to inquire about specific concerns before booking.

We recommend contacting the campground directly to confirm current conditions, particularly regarding Wi-Fi, road maintenance, and the availability of amenities like propane or communal areas. Speaking with the staff can provide the most up-to-date information and help you plan your visit to I-65 RV Campground in Creola, Alabama.

For Alabamians considering I-65 RV Campground, its suitability largely depends on individual priorities and expectations. For those simply needing a highly accessible, quick overnight stop directly off Interstate 65, the park offers the basic full hookups and pull-through sites that facilitate such stays. Its strategic location near Mobile also means that essential services and urban attractions are within reasonable driving distance, making it a functional choice for travelers traversing the region.

However, it is crucial for locals to approach this campground with a clear understanding of its potential drawbacks, as indicated by numerous reviews. Long-term residents or families with children, in particular, should be aware of the reported issues concerning inconsistent amenities like Wi-Fi and cable, the challenging conditions of internal roads, and concerns regarding electrical safety (shocking campers) during wet weather. The anecdotal evidence of social disturbances and a perceived lack of proactive management response to such issues also warrants careful consideration for those seeking a tranquil and secure environment.

While the addition of a new pavilion and upgraded laundry facilities are positive signs of investment, the conflicting experiences suggest that the overall quality of stay can be inconsistent. Therefore, for Alabamians, I-65 RV Campground might be best suited for short, transient stops where basic hookups are the primary requirement, and a close proximity to the interstate is paramount. For longer stays or those valuing consistent amenity quality, smooth internal roads, and a reliably safe and quiet environment, it would be prudent to thoroughly investigate current conditions or consider alternative RV parks in the broader Mobile area, such as Deer Creek RV Park or those further south towards the coast, which may offer a more consistently positive experience.
