It’s a testament to the evolving landscape of travel and residential options in California, where convenience and value are increasingly sought after by locals and visitors alike.
Gridley Inn & RV Park is strategically located at 1490 CA-99, Gridley, CA 95948, USA. Gridley is a charming city in Butte County, known for its friendly atmosphere, agricultural industries, and its position as a gateway to various outdoor recreational areas and historical sites in Northern California.
The immediate proximity to Highway 99 ensures effortless entry and exit for RVs and vehicles of all sizes. This major north-south artery connects Gridley to larger cities like Yuba City, Marysville, and Sacramento to the south, and Chico and Red Bluff to the north, facilitating convenient travel for both work and leisure. The combination of easy highway access and local amenities makes Gridley Inn & RV Park a highly convenient choice for anyone looking to experience this part of California.
- RV Park Spaces: Dedicated sites for RVs, available for both short-term and monthly stays. Monthly rates (around $700 + deposit) are mentioned, indicating a focus on long-term residents.
- Motel Accommodations: In addition to RV sites, the property also features motel rooms for those seeking traditional lodging. These rooms are noted for being clean and comfortable, if not modern.
- Outdoor Swimming Pool: A seasonal outdoor pool is available for guests and residents to relax and cool off, especially during California's warm summers.
- Hot Tub / Spa: The property features a hot tub, providing an additional amenity for relaxation and rejuvenation.
- Laundry Facilities: On-site laundry facilities are available, which is a crucial convenience for both short-term travelers and long-term RV residents.
- Free WiFi: Complimentary wireless internet access is provided, allowing guests to stay connected.
- Pet-Friendly: The park welcomes pets and even features a dog run, making it a suitable option for those traveling with their furry companions (though some restrictions or fees may apply, such as a noted $20 per pet, per night fee).
- Vending Machine: Available for quick snacks and beverages.
- Free Self-Parking: Ample parking is available on-site for both motel guests and RV park residents.
- 24-Hour Front Desk (limited hours): While the main front desk is staffed during limited hours (8 AM - 9 PM), assistance is available after hours by ringing an exterior bell, ensuring check-in flexibility.

- Dual Accommodation Options: The unique offering of both motel rooms and RV spaces provides flexibility for a wide range of travelers and residents.
- Comfortable Motel Rooms: Despite not being ultra-modern, the motel rooms are consistently described as clean and comfortable with soft beds and clean sheets, which is paramount for a good night's rest.
- Honest and Kind Staff: A strong highlight is the commendation for the staff's honesty and kindness, particularly housekeeping, exemplified by the return of a forgotten necklace. This speaks volumes about the integrity of the service.
- Affordable Long-Term RV Stays: For those looking to minimize housing costs, the RV park offers a financially attractive option, with monthly rates significantly lower than many traditional housing solutions in California.
- Access to Recreational Amenities: The presence of an outdoor pool and hot tub adds significant value, providing opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment on-site.
- Convenient Location for Essentials: The park’s proximity to grocery stores, fast food, and gas stations within walking distance makes daily errands incredibly convenient for residents.
- Shady RV Spots: While some RV spots may be cluttered, there are mentions of nice shade trees, which are a valuable asset in California's climate.
However, it is important to acknowledge the mixed reviews regarding the RV park section. One review notes that "the RV park itself is a bit trashy, some RV spots seem very cluttered or run down and some of its residents are not really pleasant." This suggests that while the motel rooms maintain a good standard, the RV park area might have varying levels of upkeep among individual sites. Prospective RV residents are advised to visit the park in person if possible, or request photos of specific available sites, to ensure the environment meets their expectations. The park's management maintaining common areas and offering amenities like the pool and laundry facilities are positive indicators, but the appearance of individual long-term RV sites can sometimes vary.

Gridley Inn & RV Park Reviews
Rooms are not up to date or modern in anyway but they are clean and comfortable. The beds are very soft, sheets are clean, the complementary snack and water was a nice touch and when I was staying here for a month on and off the staff even made sure I didn't loose any personal / valuable belongings. (I was switching rooms a lot and left a necklace behind, housekeeping was the one who notified me I'd left it behind! So bonus points for honest and kind!) The only real downside here is how expensive the rooms are for literally being close to nothing of great importance and the RV park itself is a bit trashy, some RV spots seem very cluttered or run down and some of its residents are not really pleasant so keep that in mind for extended RV visits.

Dec 31, 2024 · Robert ChaconWe've been here for 1 1/2 year and enjoy the quiet, laid back atmosphere and the peace of MIND that comes with it. The location is central to Yuba City, Oroville & Chico with plenty of things to do and see. Gridley is a great place to live exuding small town friendliness and charm.
Jan 05, 2025 · Heather F. FloresI would give this place 0 stars. My husband travels for work so sometimes our options are limited in proximity of his job.DO NOT stay if you're a single woman or have children. There are a few creepy people in the park. One old man is constantly waiting for me to come out of the trailer and trying to talk to me. One lady literally flashed herself to a couple younger children. There are some trailers that look like a homeless camp...it's also $500 a week. A $65 pet fee for the rv park. I have never been charged for pets at any other park. The dog area has trash everywhere and smells like stale beer. The pool is on the nicer side of things however is still dirty. They do offer laundry amenities but no quarters available on site, you have to leave to find quarters. There's also about 7 or more feral cats around the park. All in all I will never stay at this park again. I do not feel safe here.
