Foot of the Rockies RV Park Introduce
Foot of the Rockies RV Park and Storage is positioned as a functional and scenic base camp, primarily serving the needs of RV travelers seeking extended stays and permanent placement in the highly desirable Colorado Springs area. The park's primary appeal lies in its stunning geographical setting and its full-service utility provision, making it an excellent option for long-term residents, seasonal workers, or those relocating to the region.
Unlike many short-term campgrounds focused on nightly recreation, Foot of the Rockies is notably geared toward a more residential model, offering weekly and monthly rates and creating a community atmosphere for those setting up a longer base in El Paso County. This focus provides a practical and cost-effective alternative for individuals requiring consistent full hookups and easy access to the city's infrastructure.
The park is situated at a unique elevation that provides truly breathtaking views, but its operational environment must be considered fully by prospective residents. While the management is often described as friendly and accommodating, and some guests find the environment quiet and well-kept, other feedback highlights challenges with site maintenance and general upkeep. Therefore, a personal visit to assess the current condition of the specific site and the grounds is strongly recommended for anyone considering an extended commitment.

The location of Foot of the Rockies RV Park offers one of the most visually impressive settings in the Colorado Springs area. The address is 53 Resort Point, Colorado Springs, CO 80905, USA. The park is nestled at the literal foot of the Rocky Mountains, just a short distance from the interchange of Highway 24 and Interstate 25, ensuring exceptional convenience for all regional travel.
From its elevated, tiered position, the park boasts magnificent, unobstructed views of the majestic Pikes Peak, the captivating rock formations of the Garden of the Gods, and a mesmerizing backdrop of the city lights by night. This picturesque setting provides an atmosphere of natural beauty that is unparalleled in a park with such immediate city access. The convenience of the location is significant for local users, offering easy access to downtown Colorado Springs, major medical facilities, colleges, schools, and various sports complexes.
Accessibility is supported by the park’s infrastructure. It is classified as **Big Rig Friendly**, with sites designed to accommodate RVs over 45 feet in length, including those with multiple slide-outs and vehicle trailers. The internal roads, though described by some as steep due to the hillside location, provide adequate space for maneuvering large rigs. A **Wheelchair accessible parking lot** is available, demonstrating consideration for guests with mobility needs. The proximity to I-25 also makes it a practical overnight stop for travelers passing through the Front Range corridor.

- **Connectivity:** **Free Wi-Fi** is offered throughout the RV Park, supporting general web surfing and email. Note that while some historical reports mention basic cable TV, recent information focuses on the reliable Wi-Fi, which is increasingly vital for modern travelers.
- **Essential Facilities:** The park includes a **Laundry facility** (Laundromat) and dedicated sanitation services, though there are conflicting reports regarding the availability of public bathhouses/showers on site. The presence of a **Running water** source is confirmed.
- **Sanitation:** An **On-site Dump Station** is available, though often subject to a fee.
- **Accommodation Diversity:** Fully furnished **Cabins for rent** are available, providing an option for non-RV guests or visitors of residents.
- **Payment and Rates:** The park accepts various payment methods, including **Credit cards** and **Debit cards**, for the **Camping fee** and offers specialized **Weekly and Monthly rates**, confirming its long-term focus.

The highlights of choosing Foot of the Rockies RV Park center on its strategic value as a residential base and its spectacular geographical features, despite the reported maintenance variability:
- **The Best Views:** The park boasts some of the most dramatic and comprehensive views in the region, encompassing Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, and the entire city panorama, creating a truly unique and inspirational place to wake up every day.
- **Long-Term Focus:** Offering competitive weekly and monthly rates, the park actively caters to extended-stay guests, providing a community environment that differs from a high-turnover nightly campground. This is ideal for those settling in the area.
- **Superb Access and Convenience:** Located immediately adjacent to major highways, the park allows for quick, easy access to all of Colorado Springs' major attractions, shopping centers, and essential medical services.
- **Big Rig Accommodation:** The oversized RV lots are explicitly designed to accommodate the largest recreational vehicles (45+ feet) with multiple slide-outs, ensuring a suitable space for large modern motorhomes and trailers.
- **Pet-Friendly Environment:** The park welcomes **Dogs allowed**, recognizing that pets are a key part of the RV lifestyle and crucial for long-term residents.
- **Staff Reputation:** Multiple guests praise the **very nice office staff** and the friendly, helpful atmosphere, suggesting a positive managerial culture focused on customer service.
It must be factually acknowledged that the primary feature concern is the reported "trailer park feel" due to cluttered long-term sites and lack of upkeep on grassy areas. Prospective guests should use the park's location and long-term focus as primary motivators but conduct a thorough, physical assessment of the current site conditions.

Foot of the Rockies RV Park is worth choosing for the self-sufficient, long-term traveler or resident whose priority is an **unbeatable Colorado Springs location** and the convenience of **guaranteed full hookups**. The primary justification for choosing this park is simple: no other full-service RV park offers such panoramic views of Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods while remaining so central and accessible to the city’s major employers and attractions.
- **Maximizing Colorado Experience:** The phenomenal views, often cited as "breathtaking," provide daily enjoyment that far surpasses that of a typical, flat-land park. For the Colorado resident, this view is priceless.
- **Budget and Logistics:** The availability of competitive monthly rates and full hookups (including 50 amp service) makes it a financially and logistically sound choice for long-term residency, especially for big rigs.
- **The Hospitality Advantage:** The consistently positive feedback about the friendly and helpful office staff ensures that the check-in process and any necessary interactions are handled professionally and pleasantly.
While the traveler must accept the trade-off of potentially less meticulous ground maintenance (due to the high concentration of long-term residents managing their own sites), the park provides a secure, fully serviced, and uniquely scenic platform from which to settle into or explore the entire southern Colorado Front Range.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Where do I start? This RV Park is geared towards long-term stays. My bf and I stayed here two days and couldn't wait to get out of this park. We have stayed in several RV parks and this was the worst. Trashy, yards were filled with clutter and make-shift fences. The park does not do any upkeep on the grassy areas. No amenities available. Our site was located between two messy and unkempt RV's. The site had metal pieces and wires on the ground. My advice would be to stay at an RV park north or south on highway 25 or west on 24.
September 02 · Jillian DowningVery nice office staff, the spaces are large, appears well kept and quiet. Well located. Many of the RV’ers seem to be long term stays. We only stayed 1 night so didn’t do any laundry or ck out the facility. It is up a hill so check in during daylight would be recommended, but plenty of room to maneuver.
July 23 · Jean McWhat a wonderful place to stay in Colorado Springs. The park manager is a sweetheart. The cost was reasonable, and there is SO much to do nearby. We had an awesome view of the city from our campground, perfect for enjoying the 4th of July fireworks. We had some nice folks from the campground join us to watch them. Everyone is so friendly. I did a load of laundry and it was very reasonable. We had a fantastic dinner at the Pepper Tree Restaurant for my husband's birthday and ate at the Texas Roadhouse, which we walked to. I also walked to Walmart and McDonald's for our breakfast the day we departed. Friends took us to the Glen Eyrie Castle, and it was amazing. I forgot to walk to the Olympic Museum, which was close enough for me. The Garden of the Gods was closed, but we didn't go to see it. We didn't have a tow vehicle, or we would have done a lot more in the area. We will stay here again if in the area.
July 07 · Charisse TysonGreat location, full hookups, leveled spots, great view of the city, Garden of the Gods and the Pikes Peak. Nice service, clean grounds and a small playground. Good Verizon and T Mobile service.
May 08 · Kaja SWIEBAbsolutely awesome place to stay! We traveled all the way from AK and the staff kept in touch with us to make sure we arrived safely and even escorted us to our spot! Customer Service A++++ at its finest! Many families come back year around from all over the USA, and I would definitely recommend this RV park to family and friends! The rates are great and the views are awesome as well! Big thanks to Terry! as she is always helpful to any issues you may have!
