Fonwood Mobile Home Park Introduce
Welcome to an insightful look into mobile home living, specifically focusing on Fonwood Mobile Home Park, a notable option for those seeking a unique housing solution in Houston, Texas. For many Texans, the idea of a mobile home park evokes a sense of community, affordability, and a more relaxed lifestyle. This article aims to provide a comprehensive and factual overview of Fonwood Mobile Home Park, helping you determine if it aligns with your housing aspirations in the bustling Houston metropolitan area.
Mobile home parks offer a distinct alternative to traditional stick-built homes or apartment living. They often provide a more accessible entry point into homeownership, allowing residents to own their dwelling while leasing the land it sits on. This model can lead to lower initial costs and a different financial structure compared to conventional home purchases. Furthermore, many mobile home parks foster a strong sense of neighborhood, with shared amenities and a close-knit environment. Understanding these general benefits is key to appreciating what a place like Fonwood Mobile Home Park brings to the table for local Texans considering their housing options.
Fonwood Mobile Home Park is strategically located at 5303 Little York Rd # 79, Houston, TX 77016, USA. This address places it within a dynamic part of Houston, offering residents access to various city amenities and services. Its location on Little York Road provides relatively straightforward access to major thoroughfares, which is crucial for daily commutes and general travel within and beyond the Houston area. Proximity to significant roads means easier trips to work, schools, shopping centers, and recreational facilities. For Texas residents who value convenience and connectivity, the park's location presents a practical advantage.
However, it’s also important for prospective residents to be aware of the specific environmental factors surrounding the park. Public information indicates that the park is situated near a stadium, which can lead to increased noise levels, particularly during events. Additionally, train tracks are located less than half a mile away, potentially contributing to ambient noise from passing trains. These elements are part of the local environment and should be considered by individuals sensitive to noise. Despite these factors, the overall accessibility of Fonwood Mobile Home Park within Houston’s expansive urban landscape remains a significant benefit for its residents, ensuring they are well-connected to the broader community and its resources.
When considering a mobile home park, understanding the services and features it offers is paramount. While specific, detailed services beyond the basic provision of lots for mobile homes are not extensively publicized for Fonwood Mobile Home Park, based on typical mobile home park operations, one can infer certain fundamental offerings that would appeal to local users:
- Availability of mobile home lots for rent.
- Basic utility hookups (water, electricity, sewage – though specifics on included utilities would require direct inquiry).
- Maintenance of common areas within the park.
It is important to note that specific amenities, such as community centers, laundry facilities, or recreational spaces, are not explicitly detailed in publicly available information. Prospective residents are always encouraged to directly contact the park management to inquire about all available services and amenities that might be crucial for their living experience. Understanding these practical aspects is vital for making an informed decision about residing in a mobile home park and ensuring it meets your specific lifestyle needs and expectations in the Texas climate.
While the publicly available information offers some insights into Fonwood Mobile Home Park, it’s also essential to address what might be considered key features or highlights from a resident's perspective. It appears that one of the primary considerations for residents is the management and maintenance of the property. Based on publicly available reviews, residents have raised concerns about the management practices, specifically mentioning issues with trash management, with bins being too small and leading to refuse scattering, potentially due to stray animals. Furthermore, there have been comments regarding annual rent increases, typically ranging from $25 to $50. Staff professionalism, particularly concerning an owner named Belinda, has also been a point of contention.
Another significant aspect highlighted by past residents is the presence of numerous large trees within the park. While trees can offer shade and aesthetic appeal, there have been serious concerns about their maintenance, with claims that management only addresses dead trees. A notable incident involved a resident's trailer being severely damaged by a falling tree during a hurricane, with management reportedly not covering the damages despite prior warnings about the trees' condition. This suggests that the natural environment, while potentially a positive feature, also presents a maintenance challenge that has impacted residents directly. It is also important for potential residents to be aware of specific park rules and restrictions. These include prohibitions on fireworks, clothing lines, personal pools of any kind, trailer trucks, motorbikes, or ATV wheelers on the property. Additionally, the absence of surveillance cameras or security has been noted, with concerns about robberies.
A further concern raised by former residents is the presence of rodent issues within the park, leading to potential damage to mobile homes. Lastly, noise can be a significant factor for residents due to the park's proximity to a stadium and train tracks, leading to loud music and train noise, even during late hours. These are all critical points that prospective residents should carefully consider as they represent significant aspects of daily life within the park, impacting comfort, safety, and property integrity. Direct inquiry with current management and, if possible, speaking with current residents, would provide the most up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of these aspects.

In conclusion, Fonwood Mobile Home Park presents a housing option for local Texans in the Houston area. Its location offers accessibility to the city’s resources, which is a key consideration for many. This includes being aware of potential noise from the nearby stadium and train tracks, and understanding the challenges related to park management, property maintenance (especially concerning trees), and various community rules. Fonwood Mobile Home Park Reviews
Reasons not to move in this park:1.Loud music at night (even on Sunday nights) —There is a stadium right next to the park.-There are also train tracks less than a 1/2 a mile away from the park.2. Children Play Unsupervised-Children are outside past 9PM and causes damages to other tenants homes. The parents are just as bad no home training what so ever.3.Horrible Management-Trash bins are way too small and trash is always everywhere due to large amounts of stray animals.-Rent increases $25-$50 per year.-Unprofessional Staff Members/ Owner (Belinda)4.Park is FULL of large trees that needs to be cut down (management only cuts down trees that are dead). My old trailer was crushed in half due to one of their tree hitting it and they didn’t cover anything. I told them about the trees multiple times and they never did anything about it. A hurricane came and one of the trees snapped in half and landed straight on the trailer. Thank god we moved because the area that tree hit was my 4 year old daughter’s room. SHAME ON YOU!5. Keep in mind:-No fireworks, clothing lines, personal pools of any kind, trailer trucks, motorbikes, or ATV wheelers are not allowed on property.-There are no cameras surveillance or security on the property (there are a lot of robberies).6. There are a rodent issue within the park which causes roof and overall damage to your trailer. This is all based on my time here from 2018-2023. What an awful experience and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody else.Good Riddance!!!!
Jun 19, 2025 · J’Nelia CharlesIf I can rate it 0 I WOULD!! Management is RUDE. They have party’s almost all the time and have cars parked outside the red line or in the grass but once we do it they automatically TOW our car!!! PLEASE think twice before moving here!!For any little thing they wanna fine you which is ridiculous. Manager is never in the office but is always watching you if you speed or just do anything!
Aug 17, 2022 · Coraima GuzmanIf I could put zero stars I would. Literally tow cars for no reason. Can't put much on your porch even though it's YOUR trailer porch. Management sucks terribly. Money orders get stolen from THEM and they still want us to pay them even though they got stolen from THEM. Can't even have your kids play outside. Don't want to renew contract due to THEIR errors.
Aug 08, 2021 · Brillit GonzalezArea floods, stray dogs all in the mobile home park tearing up property and knocking over trash cans property manager won’t do a thing about it , but will attempt to fine you if trash is not picked up. Constant harassment by manager for any reason . Previous manager was not as bad as the current manager. Overall it’s a bad experience would not recommend this trailer park.
