Recent investments in upgrades, such as new concrete pads, reflect the park's commitment to continuous improvement and guest satisfaction. As one satisfied traveler recently noted, "The new concrete pads are a great upgrade—they’re level, clean, and make setting up so much easier, especially after a long travel day. It's clear the park is investing in improvements, and it shows."

Elkhorn Creek RV Park boasts an excellent location at 165 N Scruggs Ln, Frankfort, KY 40601, USA. Its setting on the banks of the Elkhorn Creek provides a tranquil, natural escape while remaining incredibly accessible to the capital city of Frankfort and its many attractions. This unique balance makes it an ideal base camp for exploring central Kentucky.
For RV travelers, accessibility is key, and Elkhorn Creek RV Park makes arrival simple. The park is easily reachable from Interstate 64 via Exit 58. For those traveling from Louisville or Lexington, simply turn North onto U.S. 60 (Versailles Road) for 2.3 miles, then turn right onto U.S. 460 (Georgetown Road) going east for 2.5 miles. You'll see the park sign just over the bridge, with a right turn onto North Scruggs Lane leading you directly to the entrance. A crucial tip from the park itself: "VERY IMPORTANT: When arriving to the RV Park from Lexington or anywhere from the east, DO NOT follow Google or Apple Maps…. the backroads they will take you on, are NOT camper friendly. Please use Exit 58 off Interstate 64. You will be glad you did." This advice is invaluable for RVers navigating the area.

Jun 06, 2025 · Chasin 70sWe really enjoyed our stay at Elkhorn Creek RV Park! The paved, level sites offer generous spacing, and several even back up to the scenic creek—an added bonus. Despite being late May, we were pleasantly surprised to have no issues with bugs. The facilities are exceptionally well maintained and clean. One small suggestion would be to add a bench or small seating area in the bathhouse for drying off or putting on shoes—just a minor improvement to an otherwise great setup. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating—thank you for making us feel welcome! We also loved the live music and fantastic food truck on Saturday night. Jun 01, 2025 · Chad McKeeThis is perfect home base for Bourbon explorering or KY State / UK parent visits. This was our 3rd time in 9 months. The staff is friendly. They have super clean bathrooms (thank you Gail). Most of the sites are new level concrete. On 2 stays we had the pleasure of meeting the (newish) owner. He is super approachable and interested in guest input. He has vast experience in executing quality turnarounds. They are upgrading just about everything with many more positive changes to come.
Jun 09, 2025 · K MikWe wanted a central location while making a short visit to some of the distilleries nearby. Elkhorn Creek RV park is perfectly located! And it is a great park! Brand new concrete pads along the creek with full hookups are not only long enough for big rigs but many are extra wide with plenty of space between sites. The park has all the amenities you would want. The staff we crossed paths with were always helpful and friendly. They take great pride in keeping the park clean and manicured. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return soon!
May 12, 2025 · Julie LawsonOur neighbors and us did a 4 day bourbon trail trip and stayed at Elkhorn Creek RV Park. We were greeted with smiles, taken to our sites, and the guide even helped us back in. We have stopped multiple times at the camp store and the ladies in there were always so helpful. They even helped us pick a local place to have dinner. Saturday night they have local bands come in and play. We were fortunate enough to see KB Too. KB Too was fantastic! We will definitely be back!A few Buckeyes from Ohio!!!
