Eagle Lake Resort

RV park ★3.0

509-700 Stones Rd, Susanville, CA 96130, USA

3.0
If you're looking for family fun with your kids and dogs, this is NOT the place. They are poorly managed and seem to cater to the senior community. No rules were given/posted, etc. People drive through at high speeds and when we made the camp host aware, she was very rude and unprofessional. She, herself, drives way to fast through the campgrounds. They complained about our kids playing at the park. After extending our stay, we were informed we needed to leave. Fortunately, the American Eagle RV Park (right across the street) was very professional and accommodating. - Kairee Hargett

Eagle Lake Resort Introduce

For California travelers and residents seeking a quiet, natural escape in the state's northeastern corner, Eagle Lake Resort offers an established RV park experience near Susanville, in the beautiful high-desert environment of Lassen County. This area, known for the unique ecosystem of Eagle Lake, the second-largest natural lake wholly in California, is a haven for those who appreciate tranquility, fishing, and access to vast surrounding wilderness for hiking and off-roading.

Eagle Lake Resort provides a dedicated space for RV camping, offering the essential amenities needed for a comfortable stay while serving as a gateway to the region’s outdoor opportunities. The park itself is a blend of natural charm and necessary convenience, with spaces that are typically well-maintained and not overly crowded. It is important for visitors to note that the experience here is heavily influenced by the lake's condition. Due to ongoing drought and fluctuating water levels, the distance to the actual shoreline or beach may be greater than anticipated, and some advertised water-based amenities may require traveling to other parts of the lake, such as the Marina at Gallatin Beach, approximately 25 minutes away on the south shore.

The resort aims to cater to a diverse range of visitors, including those seeking a peaceful, long-term stay. Customer feedback points towards a community that tends to cater to the senior demographic, highlighting a generally quiet atmosphere, though the park welcomes guests of all ages. For those prioritizing a serene setting with excellent infrastructure for their RV, Eagle Lake Resort is a solid contender in the Northern California RV scene. They are committed to providing a clean and safe environment, with evidence of ongoing improvements, such as recently installed and meticulously maintained bathroom facilities.

Location and Accessibility

Eagle Lake Resort is situated at 509-700 Stones Rd, Susanville, CA 96130, USA, placing it strategically near the lake's unique and often remote landscape. While it is located in a high-desert region of Lassen County, it remains relatively accessible to those traveling through Northern California, often approached via County Road A-1 from Susanville. The location is ideal for travelers looking to disconnect from the hustle of city life.

Despite its remote setting, the resort prioritizes accessibility for all guests. The facilities include a Wheelchair accessible entrance and a Wheelchair accessible parking lot, ensuring that the resort is welcoming to individuals with mobility challenges. The remote nature of the location means that local conveniences, such as grocery stores or immediate retail outlets, are not directly adjacent to the park; the closest groceries are a few miles away. However, this remoteness is what makes it a quiet, desirable destination for a true getaway. For those with dogs, the area offers plenty of dirt for your dogs to play, though visitors should remain cautious about natural hazards like burrs. On-site on-site parking is also available, accommodating vehicles outside of the RV site itself.
