Central Park Introduce
For those in Florida considering an RV park for an extended stay or as a more permanent living solution, Central Park RV in Haines City offers a unique community environment. Located in the heart of Polk County, this park primarily serves as a residential hub for mobile homes and long-term RV residents. While it might not align with the typical "vacation campground" experience many travelers seek, understanding its primary function as a residential community is key to appreciating what Central Park RV offers, especially for locals looking for affordable and consistent living arrangements in the Sunshine State.
Central Park RV is situated at 1501 W Commerce Ave, Haines City, FL 33844, USA. Haines City itself is a central Florida locale, providing a blend of small-town charm with convenient access to larger metropolitan areas like Orlando and Tampa. This location makes it an appealing option for those who want to be close to major attractions, employment opportunities, or simply enjoy the Florida lifestyle without the constant hustle and bustle of tourist-heavy zones. Accessibility to Central Park RV is straightforward, with paved roads leading into the community, accommodating various RV sizes. While it's noted by some residents that vehicular traffic within the park can be considerable, its location on West Commerce Avenue means easy connections to main thoroughfares, allowing residents to navigate the wider Haines City area and beyond. Nearby amenities such as Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Lowe's, and Home Depot are within a convenient driving distance, addressing daily needs for those living here long-term.
Central Park RV provides a set of core services and amenities, catering mainly to its long-term residents. It's important to set expectations that the emphasis is on foundational living needs rather than extensive recreational programming often found in vacation resorts. Services offered include:
- Full Hookup RV Sites: These sites typically include 30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer connections, essential for comfortable RV living.
- Diverse Site Options: The park offers various RV site types, including standard, elite, and super pull-through sites, accommodating different RV lengths and preferences, with options for grassy or concrete pads.
- Wi-Fi Availability: While reviews suggest Wi-Fi might be more reliable in common areas like the clubhouse or office, it is generally available to help residents stay connected.
- Laundry Facilities: On-site laundry rooms are provided, offering convenience for residents.
- Swimming Pool: There is a swimming pool available for resident use, often mentioned as a newer addition or being well-maintained. It is not always heated.
- Propane Exchange/Refill: Some reports indicate propane services are available on-site, which is a practical amenity for RVers.
- Pet-Friendly: The community generally welcomes pets, catering to residents with furry companions.
When considering Central Park RV, certain features and highlights stand out, particularly from the perspective of a long-term resident or someone seeking an affordable housing alternative in an RV:
- Predominantly Residential Community: This is arguably the most significant feature. Central Park RV functions more like a mobile home park with dedicated RV sites, attracting a consistent population of long-term residents. This creates a stable and potentially close-knit community for those who prefer a less transient environment.
- Affordable Long-Term Stays: For Floridians seeking an economical option for extended RV living, Central Park offers reasonable rates, making it a viable alternative to traditional rentals or homeownership in the area.
- Essential Amenities for Daily Living: The presence of full hookups, on-site laundry, and a swimming pool provides the basic comforts and conveniences necessary for long-term residency. While not always luxurious, these facilities meet practical needs.
- Proximity to Local Conveniences: The park’s location in Haines City means residents are never too far from supermarkets, retail stores, and various services, simplifying daily errands and access to necessities.
- Potential for Community Interaction: While organized activities might be limited or inconsistent, a permanent residential base often fosters informal social connections among neighbors, which can be a significant benefit for long-term residents.
- Varied Site Types: The availability of different RV site configurations (back-in, pull-through, various pad types) allows for some flexibility in accommodating different RV setups.

For snowbirds planning to stay for several months, or individuals seeking a less expensive alternative to traditional housing, the park’s focus on long-term residents and its competitive rates can be highly appealing.
While some past reviews suggest it might not be the ideal "vacation destination" with a wide array of organized activities or stringent visitor control, this very characteristic makes it more of a quiet, established neighborhood for those who value consistency and affordability over resort-style amenities. Locals can appreciate the straightforward, no-frills approach to RV living, focusing on essential services like full hookups, laundry, and a community pool. The convenient location in Haines City also means residents are well-placed to access local jobs, shopping, healthcare, and everyday conveniences without the high cost of living often found in more tourist-centric areas. Central Park Reviews
Feel like it's a refugee, don't feel safe for travelers. No gate and control of visitors(day and night),indeed a lot of unknown people come to use pool and laundry. No activities, clubhouse always close. No streetlight. It's a resident place. Sites has ant infested. Beware that you should avoid this place if you're in vacation. It's not a sun outdoors. One of the employee is really rude and act as the manager but she is not... She should not work in customer service, she is a liar.
Feb 23, 2025 · Nick RoyAvoid this place! total disappointment with sun outdoors following our stay at central park. i thought i had booked in a decent campground but upon arrival, we noticed that there were only a few campers. we felt like we were in a trailer park full of trailers and mobile homes in decline. most of the amenities offered on the website are inaccessible. this place completely ruined my holiday and despite a call to the customer relations centre, i was transferred to the campground office who could do nothing other than apologise and confirm that this is not a destination for travellers.
Feb 25, 2025 · Mariève AubinMoved in to the park at the end of June!Have mainly only dealt with Yvonne. She has been very pleasant and easy to work with. Great on communication through email. Anytime I have any questions/concerns etc she is always quick to get back to me! Park is nice and kid friendly. My boys love going down to play basketball 🏀!Great park!!
Dec 05, 2024 · Micah WhiteI don't need to explain. When I'm at work most of the time except weekends and sometimes gone some wheres's on the weekends. My place is clean and the only thing is my 5th wheel is for sale. It doesn't say in the my paperwork when I signed in 2020. Remember what comes around goes around. I don't need harassment and I won't be here long.
Apr 23, 2025 · Anthony CoteTHIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!!!!!$70 a night is a joke! The entire park is extremely trashy! You can tell it's all permanents and they treat the place like their own personal amusement park! I pulled into my site and someone had all of their stuff all over my site, I had to move it all onto their yard, unhook their hose and clean up their trash before I was even able to back into my site (as they watched me clean up their mess). Everyone here is extremely loud and yell constantly at their kids, blare music and give dirty looks to anyone who doesn't live there full time. The 'heated pool' was locked with a deadbolt pin and key the entire time we were here. The sites are so small it barely fits my 30 foot trailer with my truck detached from it, which means my truck needed to be directly beside it shrinking it down to just enough to step out of my trailer and tip toe around my truck. People will cut your site and be right beside your truck for literally no reason. They have extremely strict rules about dogs, no dog is allowed to be tethered and must be on a hand heald leash at all times, including no dog pens, no dog parks and the walking areas provided dont allow leashed dogs either, meanwhile they allow outdoor cats that rome around on your yard constantly. And I swear there were more cats then people which is disgusting because it felt like countless amount of stray cats. Seriously wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! It's literally disgusting and extremely expensive!
