RV parks across Texas come in various forms, from bustling resorts to minimalist overnight stops. Cactus Country RV Park, however, distinguishes itself by emphasizing a quiet, country-like environment coupled with diligent, hands-on ownership. This combination often results in a more personal and welcoming experience, where residents feel truly at home, whether they're staying for a few nights or settling in for an extended period. The ability to enjoy the tranquility of a rural setting while still being within reach of San Antonio's attractions is a significant draw, especially for Texans who appreciate both nature and convenience. Cactus Country RV Park is strategically located at 15431 US-181, San Antonio, TX 78223, USA. This address places it in the southeastern outskirts of San Antonio, offering a distinct advantage: it's "out of the city and pretty country like," as one reviewer noted, yet remains easily accessible via a major U.S. highway.
Its position on US-181 provides excellent accessibility for RVs of all sizes, ensuring a smooth arrival and departure without navigating complex urban streets. This highway offers straightforward connections to key routes, including Loop 1604, San Antonio's outer beltway, which in turn links to major interstates such as I-37, I-10, and I-35. This network provides convenient access for residents and visitors to reach downtown San Antonio's historic sites (like the Alamo and River Walk), entertainment districts, shopping centers, medical facilities, and other points of interest.
While providing a peaceful, rural feel, the park is not isolated. Basic necessities such as gas stations, convenience stores, and local eateries are likely within a short driving distance along US-181 or in nearby communities. The location strikes a desirable balance, offering the quietude of country living that allows for stargazing, as highlighted by a resident, while maintaining practical access to the vibrant amenities and attractions of one of Texas's largest cities. This blend of rural charm and urban proximity makes Cactus Country RV Park a highly convenient choice for both transient travelers and those seeking a longer-term residence.

Outdoor games such as horseshoes, tether ball, picnic area with grills. Laundry and restrooms were very clean and well kept. Restaurants, stores, and lakes are a short distance from the park.
