Water Valley Landing Introduce
Greetings, fellow Mississippians and lovers of the great outdoors! If you're searching for a truly peaceful, clean, and well-maintained campground that offers exceptional value, look no further than Water Valley Landing. Tucked away on the banks of the renowned Enid Lake, this U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) campground is often described by those who discover it as a "hidden gem" – and for good reason.
Water Valley Landing is not just a place to park your RV; it's a tranquil retreat where the sounds of nature prevail and the stresses of daily life simply melt away. It's known for its incredibly clean facilities, spacious sites, and the refreshing breeze that drifts off the lake, creating an ideal setting for relaxation and recreation. Whether you're an avid angler, a family seeking a quiet escape, or simply someone who appreciates a well-kept outdoor space, Water Valley Landing provides a welcoming environment to enjoy Mississippi's natural beauty.
For local users across Mississippi, discovering a campground like this, especially one managed by the COE, means finding a reliable and affordable option for quality outdoor experiences. It offers the perfect blend of essential amenities and unspoiled nature, making it a compelling choice for your next camping adventure in the Magnolia State.
Water Valley Landing is conveniently located at Watervalley Boat Landing Rd, Water Valley, MS 38965, USA. This places it directly on Enid Lake, one of the four lakes in North Mississippi managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Enid Lake itself is a significant recreational hub, encompassing nearly 16,000 acres of water and surrounded by an additional 44,000 acres of lush forests, offering a vast playground for outdoor enthusiasts.
Accessing Water Valley Landing is relatively straightforward from major interstate systems in Mississippi. From Interstate 55, campers should take Exit 227 onto State Route 32 East and continue for approximately 17 miles. Then, turn onto County Road 53 and proceed for about 2 miles, following signs into the campground or to the boat ramp. It's worth noting, as one seasoned camper advised, that if your GPS tries to route you through a turn near a Baptist church, it's best to use a nearby parking lot to turn back and ensure you're on the correct path (Hwy 53), avoiding smaller, less maintained roads in a rundown neighborhood.
The campground's location, while providing a peaceful escape, is not entirely isolated. The nearby towns of Water Valley and Batesville, typically about a 10-minute drive away, offer essential services such as grocery stores, gas stations, local diners, and emergency care facilities if needed. For broader attractions, Memphis, Tennessee, is approximately 60 miles north, making it feasible for a day trip to explore sites like Graceland. This balance of secluded nature and accessible amenities makes Water Valley Landing an ideal spot for extended stays or weekend getaways for Mississippians.
Water Valley Landing, as a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) campground, is highly regarded for providing excellent, well-maintained services, particularly for RV campers. While typically more rustic than private RV resorts, Water Valley Landing stands out for offering a high level of convenience:
- Full Hookups (FHU): This is a significant highlight, especially for a COE park. All 23-29 active sites at Water Valley Landing offer full hookups, including 50, 30, and 20 amp electrical service, water connections, and sewer connections. This amenity is a major convenience for RVers, allowing for longer, more comfortable stays without the need for frequent trips to dump stations.
- Modern Bathhouse: The campground boasts a newer and well-maintained bathhouse with flush toilets and showers. Reviews consistently praise the cleanliness of these facilities, which is a crucial aspect for any comfortable camping experience.
- Spacious, Concrete Sites: Each campsite is described as large and features a concrete pad, providing a level and stable surface for RVs and a clean area for outdoor living. This is a premium feature often found in higher-priced private campgrounds.
- Picnic Areas: Designated picnic areas complete with grills and tables are available, making it perfect for meals outdoors or family gatherings. There's also a picnic shelter available for larger groups.
- Boat Ramps: Given its location on Enid Lake, the campground provides convenient boat ramps, allowing easy access for boating and fishing enthusiasts.
- Playground Trail & Interpretive Trail: For families and nature lovers, there's a playground trail for children and an interpretive trail that offers additional recreational opportunities and insights into the local environment.
- Camp Hosts: The campground benefits from dedicated and "super camp hosts" who are consistently praised for their friendly demeanor, helpfulness, and diligence in maintaining the park's cleanliness and ensuring a pleasant stay for all guests.
- Pet-Friendly: Pets are generally allowed, typically with leash regulations, making it easy for campers to bring their furry companions along.
- Sanitary Dump Station: While most sites offer sewer hookups, a sanitary dump station is also available for convenience, particularly for those with rigs not on a full hookup site or just passing through.
- Affordable Rates: Despite offering premium amenities like full hookups, the nightly rates are notably affordable, often cited around $20-$24, making it an excellent value for campers.
Water Valley Landing truly is a standout among COE campgrounds in Mississippi, offering a blend of natural beauty and practical amenities that ensures a comfortable and enjoyable outdoor experience. Here are its key features and highlights:
- "Hidden Gem" Status: This is a recurring theme in reviews, indicating that while it may not be as widely known as some larger parks, those who discover it are consistently impressed by its quality and peaceful atmosphere.

For Mississippians, Water Valley Landing on Enid Lake is an exceptionally suitable and appealing choice for a variety of reasons, making it a truly local favorite. Firstly, its location in North Mississippi makes it conveniently accessible from many parts of the state. It offers a genuine escape from the hustle and bustle, providing the quiet and peaceful environment that many Mississippians seek for relaxation. This is a place where you can truly unwind, surrounded by nature, yet still enjoy the comforts of modern amenities like clean bathhouses and full hookups.
Furthermore, Enid Lake's reputation as a world-class fishing destination, especially for crappie, is a huge draw for the state's avid anglers. Locals can take advantage of prime fishing opportunities right from their campsite or with easy access to boat ramps. Beyond fishing, the lake and surrounding forests offer abundant recreational activities like boating, hiking, and wildlife viewing, catering to a wide range of outdoor interests within the state.

Water Valley Landing Reviews
Hidden Gem. I have to share this place. Water Valley Landing on Enid Lake. It’s a COE Campground can be booked on recreation.gov. Someone did a post last week about it and I had never heard of the place. Google searched everything I could think of and could Find barely any information on it. I NEVER go to any place unless I can see a picture from a real person not a website and I am so thankful for the lady who shared this place last week because if it wasn’t for her I would not be here today. This place is amazing, peaceful and quiet. Our site is site 16 because I know that question will come. The park is super clean, well maintained and has FULL HOOKUPS for $20 a night. Couldn’t ask for a more perfect spot. Nice breeze coming off the lake. I hope someone will see this and come out and enjoy this place when you can.
Aug 10, 2020 · JaredExcellent campground run by super camp hosts. Park has 23 active sites and newer bathhouse. Sites are all large, concrete and FHU ( rare for a COE park)! Coming from the interstate take the first turn for Hwy 53. Its a straight shot to the campground. If the GPS takes you to the turn at the Baptist church, use the parking lot to go back, otherwise you will wind through a rundown neighborhood with tiny roads. 2 bars ATT. Couple of good diners in town 10 minutes away.

Jun 07, 2025 · Trent DavenportDrug deals and sketchy people hanging around without a campsite. Had to leave after my wife saw a sketchy shirtless man scope through the campground with a big knife then leave. A car parks at pavilion every day all day and guy never leaves his car...not even to eat or go to bathroom. Super skinny (meth?). Dangerous.
