Travel Trailer Center Inc. Introduce
For West Virginians who own an RV and are seeking a convenient, comfortable, and centrally located spot for their next adventure, Travel Trailer Center Inc. in Parkersburg, WV, presents a unique option. While not a sprawling resort, this campground is positioned right on the Ohio River, offering a distinct appeal for those who prioritize ease of access and direct waterfront opportunities. Imagine having your RV parked with a view of the river, with the freedom to launch your boat just steps away, all within a short distance of Parkersburg's local attractions.
Reviews from past campers offer an honest look at what to expect. This isn't a traditional campground brimming with shared amenities like large bathhouses or extensive recreation programs. Instead, it seems to focus primarily on providing essential RV services. Visitors have noted the absence of showers or traditional bathrooms, which is a crucial detail for potential campers to consider. This suggests that Travel Trailer Center Inc. is ideally suited for self-contained RVs, where campers utilize their own onboard facilities.
Despite the limited shared amenities, there are significant positives. Campers have highlighted the "great view" of the river, and the unique experience of sometimes having "the entire Park to ourselves," which can lead to a remarkably peaceful stay. The kindness of the staff is also frequently mentioned, particularly in assisting with technical needs like providing inverters for electricity. This speaks to a personalized level of customer service that can make a real difference for RV owners. While the riverbank might be muddy and not suitable for swimming directly from the shore, the visual appeal and boating access remain strong draws.
Some reviews touch upon the perception of cost, with one stating it's "expensive" but "very nice if you can afford it," and noting a "bit of a bummer" to pay full price without extensive amenities. This feedback indicates that while the quality of the sites and location are valued, the price point should be weighed against the specific services offered. However, for those seeking a straightforward, full-hookup RV site with direct river access and a focus on essential RV support rather than communal facilities, Travel Trailer Center Inc. remains a viable and convenient option in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
This article aims to provide a clear and factual overview of Travel Trailer Center Inc. Campground, detailing its unique location, the services it provides, its key highlights, and why it might be the perfect fit for West Virginians looking for a specific type of RV camping experience.
Location and Accessibility

This address places it directly on the banks of the Ohio River in Parkersburg, a major city in West Virginia's Mid-Ohio Valley region. Its riverfront position is a significant draw, offering picturesque views and direct access to the waterway.
Accessibility to the campground is excellent. Waterway Street is easily reachable from major roads in Parkersburg, ensuring a straightforward and convenient drive for all types of vehicles, including large RVs. This easy access minimizes travel time and navigational challenges, which is always a plus for campers. Being in the heart of Parkersburg provides the dual benefit of a natural setting combined with proximity to urban amenities.
For West Virginians, this location offers a fantastic base for exploring the rich history and attractions of the Parkersburg area. Local points of interest include the historic Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park (accessible by ferry), the Oil and Gas Museum, and the various shops and restaurants in downtown Parkersburg. The campground's position on the Ohio River also means convenient access to boating and fishing opportunities without having to travel far. It's an ideal spot for those looking to combine their camping experience with exploring the cultural and recreational offerings of the region, making it a highly practical choice for a local getaway.
Services Offered
Travel Trailer Center Inc. Campground primarily caters to RV campers, focusing on providing essential hookups and convenience for those who are largely self-contained. Based on available information and customer reviews, the services offered emphasize practicality over extensive communal amenities.
- Full Hookups: A key service is the provision of full hookup RV sites. This typically includes connections for water, electricity (commonly 30 and 50 amp options), and sewer, allowing RVers to utilize all their onboard facilities without limitation.
- Private Boat Launch: A significant advantage of this campground is its private boat launch, offering direct and exclusive access to the Ohio River for boating, fishing, and other water-based activities.
- Electricity Access: Electricity is available at the sites, though one review noted a specific situation where an inverter was needed for a particular site, implying that the campground staff are supportive in ensuring power connectivity.
- Pet-Friendly: The campground is noted as being pet-friendly, allowing campers to bring their furry companions (standard rules for leash use and waste cleanup would apply).
- On-site RV Repair/Service (Implicit): Given the name "Travel Trailer Center Inc." and a review mentioning the camp being "run by someone and repair service by someone else," it's highly likely that the campground is affiliated with or located near an RV sales and service center. This could mean convenient access to RV parts, repairs, or technical assistance, which is a major benefit for RV owners.
- No Showers or Public Bathrooms: It is important for prospective campers to be aware that reviews explicitly state there are "no showers or bathrooms" available. Campers should be fully self-contained or prepared for this lack of communal facilities.
- Muddy River Bank: The river bank is noted as being muddy and not suitable for swimming directly from the shore.

Promotions or Special Offers
Given the nature of Travel Trailer Center Inc. as potentially being associated with an RV sales and service center, specific "promotions" for the campground portion might not be broadly advertised in a conventional sense. However, such businesses often have integrated deals or pricing structures that benefit their customers. Any special offers would likely be tied to longer stays or perhaps loyalty programs if they are consistently operating as a campground.
While no specific public promotions (like "stay 3 nights, get 1 free" or seasonal discounts) were readily available in general information, it is common for private RV parks to offer:
- Monthly or Seasonal Rates: For those looking for an extended stay, especially in a desirable location like a riverfront, discounted monthly or seasonal rates are very common. This would make it more affordable for locals seeking a longer-term base in Parkersburg.
- Bundled Services: If the campground is indeed directly linked to an RV sales or service center, there might be implicit "promotions" such as discounted rates on repairs or parts for campers staying at the park.
- Off-Peak Pricing: Like many lodging options, prices might fluctuate based on demand, with potentially lower rates during less busy times of the week or year.
The best way for West Virginians to inquire about any current promotions, extended stay rates, or unique benefits associated with their RV services is to contact Travel Trailer Center Inc. directly via phone. Personal inquiry can often yield the most relevant and up-to-date pricing and offers.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The camp is run by someone and repair service by someone else. Although we had a great view, and the entire Park to ourselves, there were no showers or bathrooms, and the electricity on our site only worked with an inverter which they sold but was too big. They were kind enough to lend us one that fit. The river bank is muddy and you cannot swim, but- it was a nice view and they were kind. Also we paid full price without amenities. A bit of a bummer.
June 15 · Jill HerchenhahnIt's expensive. Very nice place if you can afford it. Clean. Places like these draw people who think 🤔 they are better than you.
May 09 · Kristine MillerWe spent a total of 3 nights here both on our way, and way back from Myrtle Beach. It is small, but quiet and right on the river. The first time we stopped nobody was there, and on the way back 3 RV's were parked. I believe it has 9 total spots and it works on the honor system, paying with cash in an envelope in a metal box. We'll keep coming here when passing through.
April 25 · Lord OribronNice place to stop overnight.30 amp only..but that all we needed.
April 21 · Ken LongStayed here one night while passing through. The place was nicely mowed and very quiet. Right on large river. Water and electric but we didn't use water. Will stay here again if ever in the area. We were the only ones there.
