The Eagle's Nest Campground is strategically located at 10159 US-17, Vanceboro, NC 28586, USA. This position on a major U.S. highway makes it incredibly accessible for RVers traveling through or looking to settle in Eastern North Carolina. Vanceboro itself is a charming town in Craven County, offering a quieter, more rural atmosphere while still being within comfortable driving distance of larger cities.
For North Carolinians, reaching the campground is straightforward. US-17 is a significant north-south arterial route that connects many coastal plain communities. If you're coming from the north (like Washington, NC), you'll travel south on US-17, and the campground will be easily visible. If you're approaching from the south (like New Bern or Jacksonville), you'll head north on US-17. The campground's direct frontage on this highway ensures easy pull-in and departure for even the largest RVs.
One of the key advantages of this location, as noted by a reviewer, is its "comfortable distance from Washington, NC and Greenville." Washington, a historic waterfront city, is known for its charming downtown, maritime heritage, and river access. Greenville, a larger city, offers extensive shopping, dining, medical facilities, and East Carolina University. This allows campers at The Eagle's Nest to enjoy the peace of a rural setting while having convenient access to urban amenities when needed. While public transportation typically isn't available for campgrounds in such areas, the excellent road access via US-17 makes personal vehicle travel efficient and stress-free.

The Eagle's Nest Campground Reviews
This campground was wonderful the staff was nice and they always kept everything clean including the laundry room. The monthly rate was very very reasonable. I’m talking under $500 for full hookups with space between other RVs, everyone has their own trash bins and mailbox. I didn’t want to leave but had to move back to Va. You won’t be disappointed but keep in mind there is no playground or bathhouse but I was ok with that.. Thanks for having us we all enjoyed living there.
Jun 18, 2024 · Deva StithGreat campground, good people, and very affordable prices. I brought my 21' 30 AMP camper in the middle of July and pulled out in the middle of August (I travel for work) and they worked with me all the way. Comfortable distance from Washington, NC and Greenville
Sep 12, 2024 · Brendan FoxMy husband and I are new to NC and had no idea what to expect prior to arrival. We were pleasantly surprised with our choice. Eagles Nest Campground is very quiet and clean. Several campers came over to say hello the day that we arrived and made us feel welcome. The location is convenient to grocery stores, take-out, etc., and the main road was recently paved so it's a super smooth drive. Lots are big and you have your own mailbox and trash dumpster. You definitely can't beat the prices. The park manager, Brian is awesome! He's very friendly and very responsive. He made our transition an easy one and for that alone, we're appreciative. His nice campground was an added perk. Thanks for everything Brian!
Nov 21, 2021 · Jackie MurphyA good quiet clean and nice community. As anywhere else keep the agreement and pay within the rental time arrangements and I guaranty everything will be just fine. Great management team now also. These ladies are on top of it.
Jun 23, 2023 · Charlie BaketI don’t know where to start besides saying this campground is GREAT! The owners and management here were extremely polite and helpful. I called them ahead of time to see if we could stay the night though no one answered, not even 10 minutes later they called me back with more information about the campground. When we showed up they greeted us out front and found us a quiet place to rest. I’ve probably camped at over 300+ places over the past 5 years traveling and this campground has to at the top of my list just because of how we were treated. It doesn’t matter if you have that $200,000 RV or a tent they treat everyone the same!
