Texarkana KOA Journey Introduce
For Texans on a road trip, a weekend getaway, or those seeking a comfortable base for a longer stay in Northeast Texas, the **Texarkana KOA Journey** offers the perfect blend of convenience and essential amenities. Positioned right off the major Interstate 30 corridor, this campground is a dedicated oasis designed to make your journey smoother and your stopover comfortable. As a KOA Journey location, its primary focus is on easy access and quick turnaround for travelers, making it a favorite for RV and trailer owners passing through the Lone Star State.
This welcoming facility is more than just a stopping point; it’s a fully operational campground that caters to all types of campers, whether you're driving a massive fifth-wheel RV, setting up a tent, or looking for the simplicity of a camping cabin. Located in the unique "Twin City" of Texarkana—a community that literally straddles the Texas-Arkansas state line—the campground provides a central, highly accessible location that allows visitors to explore the distinct culture and historical attractions of both sides of the border.
Texans appreciate efficiency and comfort, and the Texarkana KOA Journey delivers. With features like long, easy-to-navigate pull-through RV sites, essential full hookups (including up to 50-amp electric service), and a clear system for after-hours check-in, the focus is squarely on reducing travel stress. The combination of its strategic location and the reliable quality of a KOA property makes it a top choice for a comfortable overnight stay or a multi-day exploration of the Ark-La-Tex region.
The Texarkana KOA Journey is perfectly situated in **Texarkana, TX 75503, USA**, right off one of the region’s most important highways. The specific address is **500 St Michael Dr**, which places it immediately adjacent to Interstate 30 (I-30). This prime positioning is the campground’s greatest strength for travelers, providing incredibly easy on-and-off access to the highway, whether you are heading East toward Little Rock or West toward Dallas.
For RVers, the convenience of the location translates directly into less time spent navigating city streets and more time relaxing. The well-lit after-hours check-in system ensures that even if a long Texas drive causes you to arrive late, your spot and necessary information will be readily available. While the location is close to the interstate, which may result in some traffic noise (as noted by previous visitors), the trade-off is unparalleled accessibility to major routes and the immediate proximity to the services and shopping Texarkana has to offer.
Accessibility is a key priority for this campground, with features like a **wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom**. This commitment ensures that all Texans and travelers can utilize the facilities comfortably. Its Texas location also makes it a great hub for exploring Northeast Texas attractions, including Wright Patman Lake for water activities and various historical sites within the Texarkana area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It is conveniently located, right off I-30. The directions provided by email were spot on. We made our reservation online because the staff at the 800# could not assist. We arrived at midnight and there wasn’t an envelope because we reserved so late. The campground was clean, beautiful and easily maneuverable. Our 35’ travel trailer fit perfectly in pull-through site A9.Unfortunately, the restroom/laundry room code provided was not working. Thankfully we were able to shower in our camper. It is extremely difficult to exit this location because of the traffic and angle.
August 06 · Jill GalbraithWe chose this KOA because we were passing through the area on a RV road trip. It was very conveniently located off the interstate. We could hear the interstate traffic, but it didn’t bother us. We didn’t have a long stay. The laundry and bathroom facilities were very clean and safe with a code needed for entry. While it wasn’t updated, it served the purpose for a one night stay. The playground could use a facelift, but again, we didn’t come here for a long stay. If you need a quick in & out with a RV, this will be a great fit! The pull through sites worked beautifully. We didn’t interact with the staff as we arrived after office hours. The information we needed was available and helpful. Thanks for the one night stay!
June 02 · Joel & Anita ZeisetReally nice clean cabins and facility. It is close to the highway and you can hear highway noise along with a train. With that said, we had a loud fan that blocked it all. They have nice memory foam beds. They provided linen which was a very nice surprise.
August 05 · Chatfield IIThe campground was good. No issues with the campground itself and the staff was very accomodating and friendly. However, the campground is less than 100 yards from a major highway and the interstate. Very convenient, but EXTREMELY NOISY. Traffic noise, trucks, loud exhausts, revving engines, etc are heard 24/7. We stayed in the front section closest to the interstate. Maybe the noise is better further back and away from the highway, but it's not that much further away, so I doubt it. The campground served it's purpose for us. A one night stay on our way to a final destination, but if we are ever in the area again, I am staying somewhere else. It's not the campgrounds fault. It was fine.....it was the noise. Bring ear plugs or noise canceling headphones.
June 09 · C MThis park goes the extra mile to make your stay comfortable & convenient. Loved the shower caddy left in our cabin for those essentials that might not have been packed & the wood left by our fire pit so we could enjoy a fire even though we arrived late. Staff was very caring- even stopped to tell us the best way to get out of the park. Only 2 complaints- the noise (highway & train) which cannot be controlled, and no change machine for the laundry. This was a great stay @ the KOA!
