Susquehanna Shores Campground Introduce
campgrounds on the susquehanna river
Hello, fellow Pennsylvanians! Are you seeking a serene escape where the gentle flow of a river replaces the hustle and bustle of daily life? Do you dream of evenings spent by a campfire, with the sounds of nature as your soundtrack? Look no further than Susquehanna Shores Campground, a charming and well-regarded destination nestled alongside the majestic Susquehanna River in Falls, Pennsylvania. This delightful campground offers a unique blend of peaceful riverside living and a strong sense of community, making it an ideal spot for both long-term seasonal enjoyment and shorter, relaxing getaways for families, couples, and solo adventurers alike.
Pennsylvania, with its vast state parks, dense forests, and historic waterways, offers an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities. Among these, camping along a major river like the Susquehanna provides a truly unique experience. Susquehanna Shores Campground, though described as "small," makes up for it with meticulous maintenance, cleanliness, and an incredibly welcoming atmosphere. It’s a place where owners are thoroughly enjoyed, and campers foster a family environment, making it feel like a true "camping home." Whether you're planning a short visit to enjoy the river or considering a seasonal spot to immerse yourself fully in the natural beauty of Northeastern Pennsylvania, this campground promises a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Susquehanna Shores Campground is conveniently located at 121 Susquehanna Beach Rd, Falls, PA 18615, USA. Falls is a picturesque township in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, known for its rural charm and direct access to the Susquehanna River. This region of Northeastern Pennsylvania offers a blend of natural beauty and small-town appeal, providing a perfect backdrop for a camping retreat.
For Pennsylvanians, accessing Susquehanna Shores Campground is quite straightforward. If you’re coming from Scranton or Wilkes-Barre, two major cities in the region, the drive is relatively short and easy, typically under an hour. This makes it an ideal spot for a quick weekend escape from urban areas. Even from larger metropolitan centers like Philadelphia or Harrisburg, the drive, while longer, is manageable via major interstates such as I-81 or I-476 (PA Turnpike Northeast Extension), transitioning to well-maintained state routes as you approach Falls. The campground's location directly on the Susquehanna River is a significant draw, offering immediate access to water-based activities and stunning riverside views. While the approach to the lower, river-level sites might require careful maneuvering for very long travel trailers due to potential "dragging bottom," it is generally not an issue for 5th wheels or most RVs, indicating thoughtful design for various rig types. The surrounding area is characterized by lush greenery, providing a tranquil setting that feels "out in the woods" while still being accessible.
Susquehanna Shores Campground focuses on providing a clean, well-maintained, and comfortable environment for its campers, catering primarily to seasonal guests while also welcoming short-term visitors.

While some consideration is advised for very long travel trailers on the lower level due to potential clearance issues, 5th wheels and most RVs should have no problem. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A very nice, small campground. Well maintained and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed the owner. The upper level seem to be more of the semi-permanent campers. The lower, river level, more like us. Short timers.Nearby is a laundry and down the street a nice, fun little bar with some pretty good food. The only concern I might suggest is that if you have a long travel trailer, there might be some issue trying to pull your rig off the lower level without dragging bottom. 5th wheels, not a problem. RV’s, it would depend upon your wheelbase and how it compares to the length of the body.Large, grassy parking areas. Yes, you can have your traditional bugs, but hey, you’re on the river. That’s part of the experience.

The owners managed to gather like-minded campers who help to create a family environment which most would be happy to call their camping home.
