Sunset Bay RV Resort & Campground Reviews
This was my dream camping spot! I came to the UP to look for rocks and our camp site was quite literally right next to the rocky beach! There was a picnic table, a fire pit with a metal grate, and plenty of room. The bathrooms were never busy because most of the campers have an RV, so I never had to wait. Overall this was a very peaceful campground and I will definitely be coming back!
Jun 29, 2025 · Allison GarrettThe views from the waterfront campsites are impeccable! We were on sites 1, 1A, & 2. Bathrooms are singles, but are clean and showers are hot with good pressure. We rarely waited for them. Nothing fancy, nothing extravagant, but lots of agates, lots of sunsets, and quiet neighbors. 🙏

Which I understand but it’s not very relaxing being constantly watched while there are kids running around everywhere and she’s not saying a word. If you don’t pay ahead she writes down your credit card number!!!!! Road going in is AWFUL. Very bumpy of you have a camper. Also the sites are VERY close…you’re hanging out with your neighbor whether you like it or not. When we pulled in late the electric wasn’t working to our site (which I called ahead to verify if we would have it) and the water was spraying everywhere which left us no water pressure. We’ve been doing this for years and this is just not a site to come back to. Too old-school here. Stop worry about well behaved dogs laying by their owners off leash and start worrying about fixing/updating your campsite.
Jul 04, 2025 · Liz HolmesSuper peaceful campground. Great sunsets every night.Buuut....some of the sites are really hard to get a larger RV on, so really check before you reserve. Depending on the site, they are small and neighbors right next to you. Bigger RV' really are better in the upper circle. Plan to fill your water or buy drinking water. The water had a strange "over softened" taste, it was almost brine. Ok to bathe and wash but horrible to drink, cook or make coffee. Also for full hookup site, we had near zero water pressure. We ended up filling our water tank and running off our pump. Camp Wi-Fi was too slow for much more than texting. So, if you know that the utilities are not great and come prepared, the place is awesome. Close to towns and grocery. We will be back for sure.
Jun 26, 2025 · Maria VeenThis was our 2nd time staying here. The first time was slightly better than the second (will be our last). The only draw of this place is the view, to be honest. I won't go into long details, but we were told upon arrival that their water is out and had been for a few days. No call or anything. I could have saved myself an additional hour drive to go back to the gas station to buy 3 gallons of water. What about toilets? "Bucket water from Superior to flush with" is what we were told. Okay, but it's not an easy hike with a bucket full of water, and the water is ice cold. I'd also need to remove my shoes to do that. We checked out a day early. It's quite the drive to Graitor Park to use the vault toilets. The view is stunning, though. Read other reviews!
