★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I stayed for 5 days in one of their gorgeous log cabins—was spacious for one person, could easily accommodate more. Cabin had a cozy porch, picnic table, fire pit, and parking. Inside were two comfy beds (queen + twin), a modular mini-sofa (could be used as seating or another small bed), a mini-fridge, microwave, and powerful A/C unit. Cabins are just a short walk to the high-end public bathrooms, filtered water stations, and showers with excellent water pressure - choose between indoor or outdoor "Oasis" showers which have the look of a Nordic sauna room. The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable everywhere I went. They’ve recently added a new laundry facility, very convenient. There’s plenty to do on-site—walking trails, mini-golf, games—and the Welcome Center is both a market and a relaxing hangout space, complete with coffee, snacks, pantry/camping essentials, TVs, lounge area, games, and more. The resort-style 'back lawn' was a highlight—I loved the live music from a fantastic local bluegrass band and two "movie nights under the stars." I happened to be there during 4th of July weekend, and they hosted a BBQ competition plus offered food, drinks, and live entertainment. The campground is super family- and dog-friendly, with a great mix of families and traveling retirees. I heard great things about the RV sites and hookups from other guests. There is a man-made lake on the property and construction of a pool has begun.Nearby, there’s plenty to do and see - two wildlife/nature preserves, the locally-famous Miriam’s Kitchen is ~5 minutes down the road, and a larger grocery store about 10 minutes away. I explored a few local breweries—Wild Hearts in Hartsville as well as Southern Hops and Seminary Brewing in Florence. Standing Pines partners with a local farm for produce, quail eggs, delicious freeze dried snacks, and fun experiences—I got to ride on a tractor! Myrtle Beach is less than 2 hours away, would be an easy day trip.Best of all, the owners are a lovely family who make you feel like longtime friends - I met several repeat guests. BIG shoutout to Amy, Craig, Sam and the rest of their team - I can't wait to return!
July 06 · Christine HeffernanOur family's spring break at Standing Pines was absolutely phenomenal! The highlight? The incredible Oasis Showers that transformed our camping experience into a luxury retreat. As any parent of teenagers knows, getting them to clean up after outdoor activities can be challenging, but these showers were so spectacular that my kids voluntarily took TWO showers daily! The spacious, open-air design creates a magical atmosphere -peaceful at night and refreshing during daytime. These unique shower facilities elevate Standing Pines from a simple campground to a destination experience. My teenagers are already planning our return trip. If you're looking for camping that perfectly balances nature with comfort, Standing Pines and their extraordinary Oasis Showers are an absolute must-visit, especially if your kids spend quality time enjoying the dirt bike course! This place has set a new standard for our family vacations!
April 23 · Kelly RosatoStanding Pines Campground goes above and beyond to make campers feel welcomed, provide a sense of community, and establish connections with their guests. The owners, Amy & Craig, are easy to talk to, always ready to offer help or assistance, and make the entire camping process hassle-free and memorable! We have stayed multiple times (we're already planning our next trip) and each time, the campground becomes more inviting. Between the spacious camp sites, the dog-friendly atmosphere (and dog parks), and the welcome center - with snacks, games, outdoor showers, and laundry room, you cannot go wrong with staying here! We're looking forward to the mini-golf, swimming pool, and splash pad fun in the future. While every aspect of Standing Pines is truly remarkable, my favorite is the location! Surrounded by stunning pines, beautiful sunsets over the pond, and the open, starry skies - you would never know you were only a short drive away from downtown Hartsville.Standing Pines Campground is our new home away from home!
April 15 · Megan JennerAs of this writing the campground is still fairly new, so many of the amenities are in the works such as the pool and the minigolf. But, that aside, this is a great place to bring a family and camp. The sites are nice sized, gravel pads at the pull through and back in sites, rest of the area is typical South Carolina sand (and depending on your dog, they may LOVE that, mine tried to dig to Australia). Think of it as a day at the beach without the seagulls stealing your sandwich.Wifi is really nice too and had no issues streaming anything we wanted to view. Depending on the time you go, there may be events planned, such as the one we viewed with a rehabilitated owl being released by a local wildlife rescue center, who also talked to us about his personal rescued owl that cannot be released. Really cool event. The Welcome center is amazing with many of the must haves in case you forgot your toothbrush or other standard items, and they go well beyond that with a kids area with video games, and other foods for sale including ice creams and other great items. There are gift items as well. The owners are some of the nicest and most hospitable people you could ever meet. Talk to the hosts about local attractions too, there are some nice ones like a water park that kids old and young are bound to love.
May 25 · Christopher DionGreat new campground! Very quiet and family oriented. The owners are so nice and friendly. Had a great time! Clean bathrooms! They are adding new amenities on a regular basis. Very accommodating. Beautiful sunsets too!
