Spring Creek Campground is beautifully situated at 1730 Co Rd 744, Almont, CO 81210, USA. This address places it in the stunning Gunnison National Forest region, an area renowned for its majestic mountains, clear rivers, and abundant outdoor recreational opportunities. Almont itself is a small, charming community located at the confluence of the Taylor and East Rivers, known for its fishing and rafting, providing a picturesque setting for the campground.
The campground’s location on County Road 744 offers a significant advantage: it’s described as a "nice, quiet spot away from the highway." This means campers can enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature without the constant drone of traffic, which is a major draw for those seeking a true escape. While it provides a sense of seclusion, it's still relatively accessible. However, as noted by visitors, you "will need transportation to access walking/hiking trails, water, or a sani dump station." This implies that while the campground itself is nestled in a serene spot, some amenities and prime recreational access might be a short drive away rather than directly adjacent to your campsite.

Spring Creek Campground Reviews
A nice campground by a creek. We’ve been coming here for years but you’ll need transportation to access walking/hiking trails, water, or a sani dump station thus the 4 of 5 stars. Camp hosts are amazing people. They earn a solid 5 of 5 stars.
Jun 26, 2025 · Team KingDeb (the 2024 host) as well as Scott and Rhonda (2023) -are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They keep everything neat and orderly and make you feel right at home. Nice, quiet spot away from the highway with some tent sites near the water. Dog-friendly with nice walks up the road along Spring creek.
Jul 04, 2024 · Jack ChamblessBeautiful quiet campground in the middle of the mountains next to a babbling river! There is a river raft company and rock climbing nearby.
Aug 11, 2021 · Lyndsey DurnalUtterly lovely campground. Quiet, away from the busy roads, several creekside sites. We got lucky number 10 which I highly recommend! And amazing creek access all the way up the road from the camp. First come first serve and we had a very easy time getting in, albeit late in the season and middle of the week. Only thing that would have made this campground better for me would be trails from site. Didn’t seem to be tons of hiking right nearby. Lots of biking tho. I would DEFINITELY come back here!!
Aug 23, 2023 · Lizzie SalsichBeautiful place. But no water. And it is 18 not 14. The concession keeps jacking prices and no improvements. Hosts are sweet underpaid people. No water in most of recreation resource management of america campgrounds state wide. Not good. Can't find out why. Not tested? Don't want to pay to have them on? Going down? Forest service doesn't get the money so...what do we pay for? A full pit toilet and a piece of dirt...what is the outcome?
