Sprague Lake Resort Introduce
For Washington locals seeking a tranquil escape to the water, Sprague Lake Resort in Sprague, WA, offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature right on the shores of Sprague Lake. While its name might evoke images of a sprawling luxury complex, this charming spot is better understood as a rustic, welcoming campground that prioritizes beautiful lake views and direct water access. If you're an Eastern Washington resident looking for a comfortable base for fishing, boating, or simply enjoying serene lakeside moments, Sprague Lake Resort is a destination worth exploring.
Sprague Lake Resort provides a comfortable spot, perfect for a short stay or a leisurely lakeside retreat. As one visitor noted, it’s a "good and comfortable spot for our 1 night stay." The emphasis here is on the natural surroundings and the genuine camping experience, rather than an extensive list of high-end amenities. This simpler approach allows the stunning natural beauty of Sprague Lake to take center stage.
One of the campground's most appealing features, as highlighted by a customer review, is the potential for "spacious site by the lake" and "really nice spot on the water." Imagine waking up to the gentle lapping of waves, stepping out of your RV or tent to a picturesque lake view, and having direct access for your water activities. The ability to sometimes choose your site if the campground isn't packed, as mentioned by a happy camper, further enhances the personalized experience, allowing you to select the perfect spot to suit your preferences.
It’s important for prospective visitors to arrive with a clear understanding of what Sprague Lake Resort offers. While it might be "small and dated with few amenities" and "wouldn't call it a resort by any means" in the traditional sense, its charm lies in its authenticity and prime location. The pricing, at around "$70 for full hookups" as noted by a reviewer, reflects the convenience of full services at a lakefront site in a popular recreational area.
A practical consideration for light sleepers, as pointed out by a customer, is the proximity of the train tracks: "The train runs close by so bring earplugs." This is a common aspect of many campgrounds located near active transportation routes and is a minor trade-off for the beautiful lakeside setting. Additionally, while the first day can be glorious, visitors should be mindful of Eastern Washington's weather patterns; "then the wind rolled in!" as one camper experienced. Preparedness for varying weather conditions will ensure a more enjoyable stay.

Sprague Lake Resort Reviews
It was a good and comfortable spot for our 1 night stay. It's small and dated with few amenities. I wouldn't call it a resort by any means. It was pricey too, $70 for full hookups. However, the view was nice and we had a spacious site by the lake. The train runs close by so bring earplugs.
Jun 02, 2025 · S MReally nice spot on the water, first day was great then the wind rolled in! It didn't bother me too much, but couldn't really be outside much. If its not packed, she let's you choose your site, I like that!
Jun 29, 2025 · Tracey HicksAfter years of driving past this lake on I-90 we decided to take detour and stay the night. The town of Sprague is not much to write home about, and the drive into the resort was also a bit sketchy. However, that final turn into the resort was surprising. It was clean, organized and well maintained. It's been owned by the same woman for 22 years, and she's been on site for 52 years! We did a quick walk around, picked a campsite and got setup. We quickly fell in love with the simplicity of everything. She even let me borrow a fishing pole. In the evening our campsite was invaded by turtles, which was a delight, proving this place is full of surprises. It may not be the most posh RV spot on the planet, but the Sprague Lake Resort did not disappoint!
Jul 08, 2024 · Chris BornhoftNote to self: Read the reviews!!!! Highly suggest avoiding this place….. We (2 people) called in to find out about prices for a tent spot. When we arrived she seemed friendly at first but then when it came time to pay for our spot, she told us that it would be $50. When we told her that she quoted us $30 on the phone, she instantly changed her demeanor and said that she never would have said that.I said that I was going to step outside and think about it for a minute, and as I did my sister came out to tell me that the woman said she was just going to charge my card the $50 regardless as she had already taken my number over the phone (Which, side note, was written down on a piece of paper with expiration date and the code….. Made me very uncomfortable that it was handled this way).I went back inside and tried to talk to her about the miscommunication about the price, and she just kept saying that I was calling her a liar. I politely told her that at that point we were leaving and if she charged my card I would dispute it with the bank as that is not what we were quoted over the phone. She kept arguing with us as we got into our van to drive away, and when I started pulling forward to use the looped driveway she kept walking in front of my van telling me I had to back up because there were people camping over there, which made zero sense to me…. Mind you, I’m in a conversion van towing a U-Haul trailer (which she knew about when we called, dimensions and all), and the driveway is not the easiest to back it up in. I needed to straighten out before I could back up.I said, “Ma’am, you need to stop walking in front of my van I don’t want to hit you” after the third time of braking as she walked directly in front of my van. Finally she left, I was able to leave, and we found another place to stay that didn’t come with all the stress and drama of the situation at Sprague Lake “Resort”.
Jun 13, 2025 · Thorin SkeesickVery nice Mom & Pop campground. It's small, just a few pull through spots. Bring your leveling blocks. You do get noise from the trains, but it wasn't too bad for us. If the park is quiet, you can let your dog off leash if it's well behaved. Just pick up after the dog.
