Snowberry Bowl Campground is conveniently located in Chelan, WA 98816, USA. Its precise location is nicely tucked away in the 25 Mile Creek Drainage, providing a sense of being deep in the forest while remaining within a manageable distance from the bustling town of Chelan and the recreational activities offered by Lake Chelan. This makes it an ideal spot for those who want to experience the wilderness without feeling completely isolated from nearby conveniences.
Accessibility to Snowberry Bowl Campground is straightforward, as it is a drive-to campground. You won't need a boat or a high-clearance vehicle for access, making it suitable for most standard cars and small RVs. Directions often involve driving a few miles southwest from the intersection of the South Shore road and Shady Pass road, then taking a left onto the Slide Ridge road (Forest Service Road #8410) for a short distance. This ease of access contributes to its popularity, especially on busy weekends like Memorial Day, where arriving early on a Friday morning is often recommended to secure a spot due to its first-come, first-served policy. The campground's position provides a balance: it’s far enough from the town to feel peaceful, but close enough to Lake Chelan (just about 3 miles down to the 25 Mile Creek Marina) for easy access to water activities.

Vault Toilets:
Snowberry Bowl provides three vault toilets, which are regularly stocked with toilet paper and maintained to a good standard for a rustic campground. Visitors have consistently praised the cleanliness and availability of supplies in the restrooms.

One of the most appreciated features by many is the lack of internet or phone service. This "unplugged" environment is fantastic for encouraging interaction among campers, especially families, and fully immersing oneself in the outdoor experience without digital distractions.
Forest Service Operated:
Operated by the Forest Service, Snowberry Bowl benefits from the expertise and care of dedicated staff. This often translates to well-maintained facilities and a commitment to preserving the natural environment for all to enjoy.
Proximity to Lake Chelan Activities:

Snowberry Bowl Campground Reviews
Awesome campground! Went early Friday morning memorial day weekend and was able to get a spot before it filled up. Would come back!
May 28, 2018 · Mick UmperovitchWe have camped here several times. First come, first serve and great $$ per night. There is no internet or phone service, which is great to make the kids interact with us. Bathrooms aren't too bad, always stocked with toilet paper. Nice and quiet. Thank you, Ranger Melissa, for your assistance and help 2 weekends ago!!!
Jul 16, 2023 · Ashley AvraGreat secluded campsite. Water access and toilets. Probably not the best spot if you are in a small car, as the terrain is rough getting there. Beautiful view of the stars and great hiking for the experienced hiker. There is a $10/night fee.
Jul 18, 2017 · Bonnie M.Unless you have a reason to be out here can’t say you should go. Just a few steep campsites. Nowhere near the creek as far as access goes. You can walk down a cliff to it I guess. My headline, “it’s a campground”.
