Its picturesque location by the lake, combined with its incredibly affordable rates, makes it a highly sought-after destination for locals in the know. Many visitors describe it as a "beautiful" and "well worth taking the chance" kind of place, often leading to delightful surprises for those who discover its charm.
Silver Lake County Park is conveniently located at 500th St, Northwood, IA 50459, USA. This places it in Worth County, in northern Iowa, making it easily accessible for residents across the state and even those traveling through from neighboring Minnesota. While it is situated off a gravel road, and some might describe it as "easy to miss," its charm lies in this slight seclusion. Northwood, Iowa, is a small, welcoming community, and the park’s proximity means that any last-minute supplies or needs are just a short drive away. For those with larger RVs, it’s worth noting that access is manageable, with reviews from 34ft RV owners confirming they fit without a problem. The park’s location directly on the shores of Silver Lake provides stunning views and direct access to the water, creating a truly immersive natural experience. Its placement in Worth County also means it’s part of a network of natural areas managed by the Worth County Conservation Board, ensuring the preservation of its natural beauty. For RVers needing to use a dump station or refill potable water, a major travel center in Albert Lea, Minnesota, is conveniently located about 16 minutes away, offering these services for free, which adds to the overall value of staying at Silver Lake County Park.

- Serene Atmosphere: Despite the potential for some noise from a nearby RV park/farm, the overall atmosphere is described as beautiful and peaceful, especially given its location directly on the lake.
- Fishing Opportunities: Silver Lake itself is known for fishing, allowing campers to cast a line directly from shore or launch a small boat for a day on the water.
- Proximity to Albert Lea Amenities: The nearby Petro travel center in Albert Lea, MN, offering free dump and potable water, is a significant benefit for RVers staying at the park, effectively compensating for the lack of these on-site.

Silver Lake County Park Reviews
This hidden gem is amazing. We took a chance to get a spot, as it’s first come first serve and it’s beautiful. $10 with 20amp electric. Our RV is 34ft and we fit with no problem on two different sites. Well worth taking the chance for a spot. No dump or water, but the Petro travel center in Albert Lea, MN, about 16min away, offers free dump and potable water. Can’t beat this!!
Jun 27, 2022 · SamIt's a nice place for $10 a night with almost no amenities. Just beware all you get is a 20 amp connection with no water or sewer hookups nor a dump station. I believe there are 8 sites: 3 with gravel and the rest are grass, with 2 of the gravel sites facing Silver Lake, which also appear to be the 2 sites closest to level with the grass sites being well off level. There appears to be an outhouse, but I didn't use it. The RV park/farm next door can be loud, which is my biggest complaint. Further, I wouldn't take any RV in there over 30'. It's off a gravel road and easy miss.
