Jun 25, 2025 · Ais SriCalm and a beautiful place with in Illinois for families to camp and kids to have a lot of fun. We throughly enjoyed our stay here. Posting some pics of the camp sites!
Jun 14, 2025 · Riyaz BasheerI go there to fish so that's what I will focus on. It's a good lake. You aren't guaranteed, not to get skunked but you usually aren't. There is a potential for catching a giant fish of several types.Beautiful scenery. It's not coastal Maine beautiful but for cornfield Illinois, it's a really nice place to be in nature. They have camping, hunting, hiking, boating opportunities. They rent kayaks and possibly canoes (not sure about that.) I've only kayaked there once but it was fun. Avoid the boats and you'll have a nice time. Can be crowded on weekends.Watch out for ticks. They are there.
Jun 04, 2025 · Tom BUpdate:The new restrooms were expected to be ready on May1st but it is mid June and still not yet inspected and ready to use.———Nice place for campgrounds. Toilets and bathroot is good. The open put toulet could have been improved but the main bathroom is clean and well maintained.
Jun 15, 2025 · Ganesh M SI love Shabbona State Park, we live nearby so it's probably the place we hike most frequently. They have shorter trails and one that's about 7 miles. There is camping, fishing, boating, hiking, many picnic areas, several playgrounds, a restaurant called Pokanoka's which is right on the lake and has live music on Saturdays in the summer. They also have boat rentals for people interested in boating. This lake is great for kayaks and canoes, it's not a tiny lake, but it's also not at all overwhelming. You won't get lost here...not on the lake and not on the trails. Kid friendly trails, no super steep hills or anything at all dangerous. In the late summer the sunflower field is absolutely beautiful! Come check it out, it's really quite wonderful♡
