Sentinel Campground Reviews
Deep in Kings Canyon, the location is great for seeing the sights and proximity to great hiking trails. The sites are decent sized and there is quite a bit of shade, though some sites have full sun. It can get hot as the elevation is quite a bit lower than Grant Grove. The restrooms are well maintained and each has a dish washing station. There are bear boxes and their use is mandatory.
Jun 11, 2025 · Tom LangPros, 5 min hike to the river, our campsite was very spacious. Market 10min away if you drive. Clean restrooms that flush. Not too many mosquito.Cons: No RV dump and fill-up site, there was a bear who came by frequently, some other campsites were very narrow which could make RV parking difficult.
Jul 05, 2025 · Mario LopezFor our first time camping in Kings Canyon, the campsite was an excellent choice! It's located within the National Park. Very convenient for first time campers as well. The Campsite has nice bathrooms, monitored and Maintained by the campsites rangers and has water spouts/sinks.Located next to the south fork of the Kings Canyon River, fishing is permitted and permit is required (check local and state regulations). The is lots of trails and areas to go hiking as well as day use areas further up the river. In case you forget anything there is a lodge which has a well stocked market as well as snack shop to get some food. Showers and Laundry facilities are very nice for camping standards and tokens are available at the market.
Jun 16, 2025 · Josh Arneson🌲The campsite was spacious, with a good distance between sites, providing plenty of privacy.🌲The ground was flat, making it easy to set up camp.🌲We enjoyed a beautiful view by the river, which was very peaceful.🌲The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained,🌲and there were water taps near the campsite, which was convenient.
Oct 09, 2024 · Mimi JiraBest experience ever. Clean camp grounds, with river flowing by. We visited this place in summer, the river flow was more. It was more like a small village in a forest. Beware of Bears😁 , as the place is theirs . 😊There is a food court, grocery store. Overall must visit..( many times )
