Under dedicated family ownership, this campground provides a delightful blend of relaxation, recreation, and genuine care, making it an ideal choice for your next escape.
Scottsburg / Raintree Lake KOA Holiday, formerly known as Camp Raintree Lake, has been consistently praised by visitors for its well-maintained facilities and the incredibly warm, personal touch provided by the owners, Mark and Marnie, and their family. This isn't just a place to park your RV; it's a welcoming community where guests feel valued and cared for. The transformation under new ownership has brought significant upgrades, including a new saltwater pool and beautifully maintained sites, reflecting a clear commitment to guest satisfaction and a high-quality camping experience.
The campground’s setting is picturesque, nestled on 30 private acres with a beautiful 7-acre catch-and-release fishing lake. This central feature provides endless opportunities for leisure, whether it's casting a line, enjoying a paddleboat ride, or simply soaking in the peaceful lakeside views. For families, the ability to fish without needing a separate license on the property adds to the ease and enjoyment of the stay, allowing kids to "have a blast fishing" as one review noted.
Accommodation options at Scottsburg / Raintree Lake KOA Holiday cater to a wide range of preferences. RV enthusiasts will find spacious, big-rig friendly sites, including pull-through options, with full hookups (water, sewer, and 50/30/20 amp electric service). Many sites boast concrete patios, providing a comfortable outdoor living space. For those who prefer a more traditional experience, well-maintained tent sites are available. Additionally, the campground offers both rustic cabins for a cozy, back-to-basics feel and deluxe cabins equipped with private bathrooms and kitchenettes, ideal for a more luxurious "glamping" retreat or for groups with non-campers like grandparents, as highlighted in a customer review.
Beyond the individual sites, the campground excels in providing a wealth of activities and amenities designed to keep all ages entertained. The sparkling saltwater pool is a major hit, especially during warmer months. Kids can also enjoy a fantastic playground, mini-golf, outdoor games like basketball, cornhole, gaga ball, and sand volleyball. The camp store, now featuring the "Raintree Lake Kafé," offers made-to-order pizzas, Boba teas, ice cream, and their signature "Sasquatch Shakes," providing convenient and delicious dining options without leaving the property. Live music on holiday weekends adds to the festive atmosphere, making it a lively and engaging place to stay.
The personalized service is a recurring theme in visitor feedback. Mark and Marnie are praised for being "super nice and quick to reply to any request," even going the extra mile to "deliver our firewood and food orders" and taking "our garbage from the site when we checked out." This level of attentiveness and genuine care significantly enhances the overall experience, turning first-time visitors into loyal return customers who "can't say enough about this campground."

Scottsburg / Raintree Lake KOA Holiday Reviews
We came here for a short weekday stay. The kids had a blast fishing, swimming, on the playground, and just exploring - unplugged. Mark and Marnie are super nice and quick to reply to any request. They even delivered our firewood and food orders! We went with the cabin because we had grandpa with us, but the RV and tent sites looked good, too. The place was very well maintained, nice and clean. Perfect location for our purposes of visiting family in Louisville. 10/10 highly recommend!
Jun 05, 2025 · NicoleEvery time we come here, we are impressed with the family that owns the campground! They are always so nice and helpful! The campground is very nice, easy in and out, big level sites, concrete patio next to site, great bath houses, convenient to I-65 - we stay here on our way south to Tennessee. Can't say enough about this campground! We stayed in our 34 foot Class C with a tow car, don't have to unhook to stay the night. We used to have a 45 foot Class A and it would have fit easily!
Jun 05, 2025 · Nancy JerniganWonderful people, large level sites. super clean!! Very nice saltwater pool. This place hits it out of the ball park. Only gave them 5 stars because I can't give them 10. Highly recommended
Jun 23, 2025 · Richard BuzalskiAn amazing place to stop for one night or come camp for a week or longer. Beautifully designed and taken care of. Overlooks a lovely lake with plenty of amenities for adults and children! Peaceful, tranquil perfect setting. Marny & Mark are amazing hosts and they have greatly improved this campground over the last three years. Great job guys; you’ve done wonders with this place.!!! Love the new saltwater pool and renovations to the comfort station.
Jun 03, 2025 · Jane SimmonsWe arrived around 10 o’clock in the evening last night and we had let them know that we were going to be a late arrival and they told us that it would be perfectly fine when we arrived. There was a map on the front door with our precise location of where we would be parking and they personally came out at 10 o’clock at night to pull us into our spot and make sure that we were able to get everything hooked up and secured. Would recommend this spot to anybody who is driving down 65 amazing coffees.
