It's the kind of place where personal service can make all the difference, creating a welcoming atmosphere for those who appreciate direct interaction and helpfulness during their outdoor escape.
Rocky Creek Campground aims to provide a straightforward camping experience for various types of stays, including potential monthly cabin rentals. While the campground might be best suited for those who are prepared for a more rustic setting and are comfortable with the natural environment, the dedication of the staff to maintaining key facilities and providing excellent service creates a foundation for an enjoyable and affordable stay in southeastern Ohio. Location and Accessibility
Rocky Creek Campground is located at 655 Ebb Tomblin Rd, Centerville, OH 45685, USA. This address places it within Centerville, a community in southeastern Ohio. For Ohio residents, its accessibility is generally straightforward, typically involving travel on well-maintained state and local roads, making it a feasible destination for a quick weekend getaway or a longer stay.
Centerville is situated in a region of Ohio known for its rolling hills and natural landscapes, offering a more rural and quiet setting compared to the state's larger urban centers. While the campground itself is nestled on Ebb Tomblin Road, providing a sense of seclusion, it remains within a reasonable driving distance of larger towns that can provide essential amenities like gas, groceries, and local dining options.
The name "Rocky Creek" suggests a natural feature on or near the property, which could imply opportunities for exploration of local waterways or natural surroundings, contributing to the rustic appeal. However, it's worth noting a past review mentioning a "sewage runoff or (creek)," which indicates a specific local environmental factor to be aware of. While this might be a concern for some, others might find the overall quiet, rural setting aligns with their desire for a no-frills camping experience.
For Ohio locals, this location offers an escape from the hustle and bustle, providing a tranquil environment for camping. Its general accessibility within southeastern Ohio's road network makes it a convenient option for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the region without venturing too far from home.
Services Offered
Rocky Creek Campground appears to offer basic, rustic camping services, focusing on providing essential accommodations rather than a wide array of resort-style amenities. Based on available public information, the services provided seem to include:
- Campsites: The campground likely offers spaces for various types of camping, implied by the general term "campground." This could include spots for tents and potentially RVs, though specific hookup details are not available.
- Cabin Rentals: The campground explicitly offers cabin rentals, including the option for monthly rentals. One review mentioned that "They try their best to rip you off" on monthly cabin prices, indicating this is a service provided.
- Clean Bathrooms: A key positive highlight from a review states, "Bathroom was very clean." This suggests well-maintained essential sanitary facilities for campers.
- Responsive Camp Host: A significant service feature is the presence of a "very nice and attentive" camp host who "Always answered the phone when needed and helped anyway he could." This personal level of service is a strong point.
- Gazebo: A wooden gazebo is mentioned in a review as a place where guests might sit, suggesting it's a common area or amenity for relaxation.
It is important for potential campers to note that reviews also mention a "sewage runoff or (creek)" with "consent sewage smells," which could impact the overall experience. Additionally, concerns about ticks ("Two TICKs attached to us") suggest a need for personal tick prevention measures. As a rustic campground, visitors should anticipate a more basic level of amenities and come prepared for an outdoor environment.

It's important to acknowledge that past reviews also mention challenges such as "consent sewage smells" and concerns about ticks, suggesting areas for improvement in environmental management. Visitors should factor these points into their expectations and come prepared with appropriate measures (e.g., tick repellent).

Rocky Creek Campground Reviews
They have nothing to offer. The prices are extremely high if you rent a cabin monthly. They try their best to rip you off.
Jun 02, 2025 · Brandina MooreLet me first of start by saying the camp host is very nice and intentive. Always answered the phone when needed and helped anyway he could. This campground is setup on a little sewage runoff or (creek) I guess they call it. There was consent sewage smells when walking around the park. Bathroom was very clean. We also managed to get Two TICKs attached to us sitting at the wooden Gazebo for 30 mins in short grass.I would not stay here again because of the smell and apparent zero tick spray or prevention. I'd just like to renote the camp host is amazing and this review is geared at the actual campground.
